I had spoken with Jeff over the phone and gave him the details of the major furniture pieces to move as well as an approximate number of boxes we were going to move. The movers arrived on time and started the move from our condo to our new house, which was approximately 20 minutes away. The movers, I believe, were Mike and Terry. They both did an excellent job and I really appreciate the fact that they hustled (i.e. literally running up the stairs to get furniture). They did a great job and everything went smooth. The only complaint (which is minor) is that I noticed a part of the wood frame of our front door from the old condo was chipped off from the move. I only noticed the next day and it wasn't too large, so never followed up, but I would've appreciated it if they told me when it actually happened. Other than that, they did a great job and their price quote was the most competitive compared to two other highly rated movers from Angie's List.

I've moved a number of times, so I know it can be crazy, but these guys were great. They showed up on time and worked constantly. There were 6 stops to pick-up/drop-off items, yet the entire move was finished shortly after noon.

It went great. We mainly had the company just move furnture and we took care of the rest ourselves to save money. They did an estimate over the phone, with me listing all the major things in each room, and the final time came in right where we were estimated (3.5 hrs, when we were told 3-3.5). We were called a couple times in the days leading up to the move as the time kept getting changed around by a couple hours, but it was fine, and the movers showed up right around when they said they would in the end. They were good natured about the super hot and humid weather and taking our really heavy furnture down from the third floor. They also let us throw some of the smaller things we were planning on moving ourselves into the truck, which definitely saved us a carload later in the day.

I was surprised that this company didn't come out to do an estimate, but I listed out for them what I had that was major (either is size or weight). They stated it would would take about 5-6 hours for 2 men and that's what it was. I did request a quote from another company which was over 800 dollars, and it was going to be on their schedule- not mine. I got the date I wanted (even with just 2 weeks notice) with a reasonable price and the move went well. Thanks.

very well - the two men and the truck arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. It was a small move from one apartment to another. Very pleased with their work. Have used this company in the past so I did not hesitate to call them again.

They were extremely good. I spent $135 on that work. I liked everything. They were on time. They did not know where the place was so they followed me up here. They were very respectful. I appreciate the care that they took.

It was amazing that I called them at 9:00am and the work was completed by 1:00pm the same day. I would use them again and would recommend them to my friends.

Due to a change in plans we called on Friday before Memorial Day and they were able to schedule our move the following Tuesday. The two movers showed up on time and hustled like we were paying them by the job rather than by the hour. They were careful with our antiques and all the other funiture. They were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a small job but they had the entire move done in under 2 hours.

Jeff was very friendly and helpful, he answered all my questions, gave me an estimate over the phone and had movers out that weekend. My only complaint is that the movers were about 15 minutes late.

On two separate calls I asked this firm to come to my house to provide an estimate on packing and moving. In each call, the agent took a simplified inventory of my posessions over the phone, and asked questions including what was the weight of the goods to be moved, and how many boxes were to be moved. In each case I stated that I had no way to know, and thought that that was the purpose of an on-site estimate. Despite these entreaties, he provided a low-ball estimate of the cost of the move, including only the price of the labor, but not boxes, insurance, truck, or anything else. These estimates ran a quarter to a third of a written estimate from a reliable mover whom I've used previously. I'm certain that the labor allowed for packing was grossly inadequate. Overall I have the clear impression that this firm is deliberately pushing unwritten low-ball estimates, so that when actual costs are double or triple the consumer has no recourse.

They arrived early and patiently waited 15 minutes to start the job. They handled my belongings carefully. Although they get paid by the hour, they worked quickly and efficiently. They were pleasant and professional and checked with me at key moments to make sure their work was done satisfactorily. In fact this is my second time using them.

From the first call, it felt as if we were the only people Jeff had to deal with - that is the amount of attention our moving process received. I emailed him a list of what was to be moved and his estimate was what we eventually paid. Jeff's professionalism was important since I had no experience with moving and he asked important questions such as whether we would need his guys to pack or box anything for us. We plan to have American Moving and Storage move the rest of the items from my mother's old house as well as a piano and several more pieces of furniture that are currently at the mold fumigator. It was great to be able to rely on professional service and have everything taken care of in such a pleasant fashion with no worries!

The movers were generally careful with out stuff and did a professional job. The could've hustled a bit more though.

They were great. They were the best. They were good guys. We pay them monthly $74 for the storage. We paid around $1000 in March because we also had them do some things around our home. They were on top of things as far as what the move date was and they asked a lot of good questions so when the movers showed up they knew exactly what my mom had to move. Their price was competitive. I'm sure I could got have gotten someone cheaper but I wasn?t looking so much for price because of the antiques. I am still using them to store some of my mom's things and antiques.

It was a very good experience. They are already rated very well. All of the comments I read were true. The guys are very fast and very nice. They took apart some furniture and put it back together; I didn't even want to deal with that furniture. The demeanor of the company was very good. The person who takes the appointments, Jeffrey, was very nice. He was always there to answer the phone. When I described the job, they sent two very nice guys out. They were quick. We had them from about 9:30 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon. They loaded up one condo and put everything into a new condo in the same town. The guys were nice and professional. They put down protective sheets to make sure that nothing got scratched. They took apart a couple of beds and put them back together, which was great.

It went great. The company owner was professional, they gave us a quote per hour and we underestimated the amount of stuff we had and how long it would take so it came in over what we expected but still well below the quotes we received from other movers...and that was totally our issue, not the company's. The moving crew was professional and really nice. They were very prompt and took good care of our things.

Move went very smoothly...see details above. Have nothing negative to report regarding this job with American Moving and Storage. FYI...they do local as well as long distance moves. The two men that were assigned to our move are doing a move in two days from Columbus area to Winston Salem NC and I have no doubt they will do a very excellent job.
