American Bathtub Refinishers

Using bath toys, our kids had taken several large chips out of their bathtub. American Bathtub Refinishers came in, performed an estimate and then came back and completed the work. The level of quality was high, and all service visits were on time.

He is great. We were very happy with the way the bathroom look and the way it is holding up. He is a super friendly guy and we would definitely recommend him. He was just very friendly and quick. I couldn't believe how quick it was finished. We damaged it and he came out and fixed it free of charge. If we had another five rooms to be glazed, we would definitely hire them.

Instead of replacing the tub, he resurfaced it. It has a guarantee for seven years. It looks great and it was really a bargain price wise.

He came to our home and taped off or took off any of the hardware prior to beginning to work. There was some delay based on needing to get a longer hose since the bathroom does not have an outside window. All in all, the work was completed in a timely manner and we have been happy with the new look. We have not used the bathtub yet due to some other issues, but he has guaranteed his work so we are not concerned.

Jon was GREAT!!!!!! We corresponded initially by e-mail. I asked a dozen questions about his process and voiced my concerns over chemicals. He was very patient in all his replies and explained his system very well. His quote included everything....there was no nickle and diming for every little thing that he would have to do to finish the tub (like a couple of other companies I talked to). He removed the shower from its hinges, removed caulking (and later re-caulked). He properly vented the bathroom and the smell was gone in less than 24 hours. He was prompt and finished the job well within the time window he gave me. He was friendly and courteous and even dealt with my kid running around who was in the process of being potty trained. When all was done, the tub looked beautiful. There was only one glitch, but even this he gets kudos for. I was sitting in the tub for a bath about a week later and felt several rough patches. I contacted him and he replied quickly and made an appointment to come back out to the house. I showed him the issue (which he had never encountered before) and he spent the next hour fixing the problem. Now the tub is 100%. No complaints or irritation at being called back...he just wanted to make it right. Jon gets an A+ for being a goody guy, a professional refinisher, and a value for the work he did.

The bathtub looks brand new. All my questions were answered over the phone with a thorough description of the entire process. There were absolutely no surprises during the refinishing process.

I heard Jon pressing down on the shower floor as I left the bathroom. Several minutes later, he informed me that the cracks my handyman had pointed out to me were only cosmetic. He said I didn't need to refinish the shower floor, but if I did want to at some point, it would cost $295. He was very nice and professional, and explained various aspects of fiberglass floors that I didn't know. I appreciated his honesty and would hire him if I needed that type of work done. I got his name from my handyman who had seen work done by this company in another person's home.

Jon is great! He is careful, professional, knowledgeable, and did a really nice job on my tub.

The owner performed the work and was time. We would use him again. Found him easy to work with.

Jon was very pleasant to deal with. He came promptly at 9:00 and was done by 1:00. He carefully protected all the surfaces in the bathroom so nothing would get damaged while he was working. He explained what he was doing before he started and gave good care instructions afterwards. The bathtub looks like new.

It was not a structural problem. It was not anything that would get worse. It had most likely been there the whole time. He was more than willing to do the work, it would have only been cosmetic. He was honest.

Jon came out and refinished our old ceramic tub, which was probably installed when the house was built in the 1940's, or sometime not long after. The tub was originally white, but over the years the glaze had worn off and the tub had yellowed and had an almost chalky feel. We called American Bathtub Refinishers because we were having our bathroom remodeled and wanted to update the tub, but didn't want the expense of removing the tub and installing a new one. Jon answered all of our questions about the process over the phone. He was on time for the appointment, very professional, and had no problems with our 3 dogs. The bathtub looks fantastic, with a fresh white glaze and non-slip bottom surface which now no longer requires a bathmat. We have recommended American Bathtub Refinishers to several people since then.

I did want to submit a report in order to let people know of John's integrity. My shower floor was looking a mess. It had been refinished previously by another company and it looked quite nice for a little while. However, I was concerned that it's appearance had gone bad a little too quick, so I called John in to take a look. John refused to do the work. He explained to me that what I was seeing was the result of water getting under shower pan and causing the base to warp and the tiles to shift. He explained that if he did do the work, he would be covering up a big problem and probably making it worse and he didn't operate his business that way. He suggested I call in some tile companies. Jumping forward to the present, I did as John suggested and John saved me from a nightmare. Another couple of months and the water would have gotten into my ceiling. The water damage was extensive, but fortunately, fixable. The company that built my home violated building codes and put tile on top of plywood! No cement board, no liner, no nothing! John really saved the day for me and my family. There was, unfortunately, no work for him to do here, I thought you would appreciate knowing about John's honesty and integrity. He could have gone ahead and done the job and collected his pay. John was honest, straightforward, and walked away from work in order to save a homeowner from making a mistake. I truly appreciate what he did and I can absolutely vouch for John's honesty and his willingness to put the customer first.

It took about 2 weeks for the work to be done after it had been scheduled. It took between 3 and 4 hours on the day he performed the work. It looked great when he was done and it is much cheaper than Bath Fitters. Jon is very professional and conscientious.

My tub was original to the house (1950's) and had been refinished prior. Jon removed the old finish, applied the new and caulked around the inside and floor area. My son had Jon do his a couple years ago and it looks like as good as the day it was done. Couldn't be happier.

It is an older house and we had an older bathtub which was definitely sharp. The guy was little weird and kind of an artist type. It has been a couple of years now and I haven't had any problem with their work. The guy who they sent to work was weird but he did a great job.

We are very pleased, we feel we saved a lot of money refinishing instead of replacing a big, heavy porcelain tub.

At issue was the schedule, but once we worked this out, Jon came on the scheduled date and performed his job of reglazing the bathtub. Comments from my son and daughter-in-law were positive. Jon is very professional and his price was very affordable. I have no reservations in recommending him and his company.

My husband and I were on vacation when our bathtub was refinished. When we got home we could not believe it was our 41 year old tub. LOOKS GREAT!!! We had a small problem once with small pin marks but he came out the next day, after husband told him about the problem, and took care of it. It is very nice to know that there are professional, caring companies out there, and this company is one of them. We would do business with him again. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JON !!!

The bathroom looks beautiful! He was very prompt and always called the night before as a reminder. He was able to clean the surround off and the strip the tub coating and re-apply. It turned out great and I would highly recommend him!!
