Trimmed trees as requested and very skillfully cut down a 60 foot locust tree overhanging our house. Removed all debris.

Fantastic! I called him on Wednesday June 8th. He arranged a time to come out later that day. We went over all the areas of the property that we wanted taken care of. He provided a written estimate for the work. He also provided us with his W9, verification of his workers comp coverage, and a copy of his certificate of insurance. He had an opening on Friday afternoon of the same week. He personally came out with the crew to remove the large Austrian pines. He stayed onsite and completed the rest of the work himself. He does outstanding work and the site is completely clean when he's done . . .. I couldn't find a twig! Highly recommended.

They were prompt, professional, and paid attention to detail. We would certainly use them in the future if needed.

I was very pleased with the service. I called in the morning, my call was returned a couple hours later, and Mr. Mathews stopped by later the same day to give me a quote. He was very pleasant and I considered his price very reasonable. I had a smaller fruit tree that I planned to just cut down myself, but he said he'd throw that in since it was so small. Since rain was predicted, we weren't sure which day the work could be done, but I heard chain saws the next morning! The crew did a great job and cleaned up well. I had decided not to have the stumps removed, to save money, and they cut them low to the ground so they are not really in the way for mowing. Overall this was a quick and easy transaction, and I will certainly use them again for any other tree work.

I would highly recommend this company. Todd and his crew are very responsive, professional, and very good at what they do.. The Pine was the easy tree to remove. The hard ones were the 4 trees growing from the same base. This tree had 4 trunks that over a 40 year period, had grow out at very steep angles trying to reach for sun. Over the winter, the roots had started to rot, and two of the trunks fell harmlessly in the woods behind us. One of the two remaining trunks had fallen against another tree, and was threatening to fall on my neighbor's fence. The other trunk was still barely attached at the ground, but was threatening to fall on my shed and on my neighbor's fence. Todd's crew got a bucket truck into my back yard, and very carefully cut small amounts from the trees until they were both down safely. It was amazing to watch. After they were done, they did a very good job of cleaning up.

I would highly recommend Mathews Tree Service. Todd is very prompt in returning your phone calls. I initially left him a lengthy message describing everything I needed done. When he provided the estimate the next day everything was accounted for except for the stuff I forgot! Todd and his crew arrived promptly when they said they would and we reviewed again everything to be completed. When I got home later that day everything was done and looked great! He did all of this for a fair price. I would not hesitate using his services again and would recommend to anyone needing tree service to give him a call.

A friend was researching tree removal companies and I helped her find them. I am posting this on her behalf. ?Mathews Tree Service was the lucky winner. We had 11 trees removed which surrounded the house, mostly pines, a birchwood, and a few maples. The price was fantastic! They got the work done sooner than planned, they cleaned up the yard when they were done all without damaging the house J We have more trees and shrubs to remove and they will be called back out for that job! Todd is easy to work with and very responsive.?

I highly recommend this tree service. The cost was competitive, the crew punctual (in fact, they did the work on a day that had rain and snow showers all day), and the clean up was meticulous. A very good experience.

My experience was great. I called on a Monday. Todd was able to come out that same day to take a look at it and give me a price. The work was completed on Wednesday of that same week. We worked out the details over the phone and I didn't need to be there while the work was being done. I appreciated this as it isn't always easy for me to leave work for appointments.

Work was started on removing a large oak tree from our backyard. An hour or two into the job, I received a call from Todd stating that his climber had knocked a branch into the electrical line and shocked himself and refused to finish the job. I asked if he would be sending someone else out and he said that was his only climber, so pretty much left us high and dry with a tree that had been partially cut. Not only did our neighbors behind us lose electricity for the 2 or 3 hours but it left us with a partially topped off tree that seemed unstable in our backyard. We had to gather new quotes and have another company come out and finish the job a few days later. Update 3/24/16: Todd Mathews, owner came to my house on March 17th and apologized in-person for the problems we had back in July. He explained to me that his tree climber has been working with him for several years and was freaked out about getting shocked and refused to climb back up to finish the job. He made up the monetary difference to us that we had to incur by going with another company.

We had 7 Bradford pear trees that needed cut down and the stumps removed. We live downtown and the space was very tight with the trees being very close to the house and fences. Most other tree services just came out and said they could not do it due to the tight space or just quickly counted the trees and multiplied them by a set number for the price. Todd from Mathews Tree Service came out and took his time to look at each tree, the size of the yard and the limited space. He gave us a very reasonable price on the job and was one of the few companies that had a stump grinder that could actually get into the small space of our yard. On the day of the job, they came on time and did a great job of cutting down the trees and removing the stumps without damaging any thing in the area. His crew cleaned up the mess afterwards and everything went as planned. I would use them again for any future tree removal needs.

We contacted Todd Mathews, and he arrived the next day to provide a bid. The price was excellent and he could do the job the same day, so we accepted on the spot. The crew arrived later that day with lots of equipment including chain saws, a wood chipper, a dumptruck to hold the chips, a stump grinder and a large bucket truck. The operator used the bucket truck to access the overhanging branches and cut them away piece by piece, dropping each individual piece harmlessly to the ground. They took the entire tree down from top to bottom in that manner. It was quite a show. All the wood was taken to the chipper where it was blown into the truck. The stump was ground to about the 9" depth we had requested. Meanwhile, one of the men used a backpack-sized blower to collect the remaining debris and leaves. The entire job was done with care and great skill. When the job was finished, it was hard to tell that a tree had ever been there. We are very pleased with the final result.

I received three estimates from highly rated tree services on Angie's List. Todd's was by far the best. His estimate was the lowest and the work done by him and his employees were top notch. The reviews show it and are accurate. The other two tree companies were 3+ weeks out on scheduling. Both trees were taken down. No damage to electrical wires, fence, deck, or house (including the neighbors). The stumps were nicely ground down. They did a great job cleaning up. I only had to pick up a handful of twigs. His company is affordable and does quality work. They are heavily insured for his employees and your protection. He had both trees down and gone in less than a week of calling him. You need to call Todd if you need any tree work done on your property.

Todd and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. When it came time to raise canopies Todd worked very closely with me reminding me that we could "take more off but can't put it back on." His work was precise and very skillful...artistic really. His crew cleaned up as they went and even laid down tarps to toss limbs and debris on so that my yard wasn't littered with twigs and leaves after they left. The quality of their work is exceptional. The bid was right on the money. I will definitely recommend Mathews to my friends and business contacts. And they will be my only call when I need tree work done in the future!

Todd Mathews, the owner, was very honest about the shape of our tree. He was was also prompt in calling us, and very professional. All the workers did a good job, and cleaned up everything.

Todd came out same day that I called him to get help with a tree that fell during a storm that morning. Gave me an estimate on site and worked to fit me in the following morning to have the tree removed. Also helped removing a dying tree in my front yard. Price was competitive and they did a great job of cleaning up all the limps and debris left in the grass. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Mr. Mathews came by the day I contacted them to inspect the job and give me a quote. After getting a couple other quotes I called him back and set up a date to have the work done. He called me the morning of the appointment after checking the weather to say they would be over as expected. He showed up with a bucket truck, stump grinder, chipper, bobcat and crew of 3. Most of the work was done in a couple of hours. They were finished with everything including cleanup in just over 3 hours. WOW! For all the work done I'm impressed. They were prompt, professional, and extremely courteous. They even moved and replaced a couple of stone boarders around 2 of trees so they could completely remove the stumps. Another company requested that we do that ourselves. I will be telling all my friends about Mathews Tree Service and will use them again in the future. Thanks Todd.

I left a message for them on Monday, 6/15/15 in the morning regarding a request for an estimate. I heard back from them by the afternoon of the same day. Mr Mathews stated that he could come out between Tues and Thurs and said the work was about a "week out" right now. I asked him to call before he came as I had many trees in my yard and wanted to talk to him. He called Wed morning and we met in the yard so that I could show him the specific trees and ask some questions. He was very nice about addressing my questions even though it was raining while we were outside. I asked if the trees could be cut low to the ground as I was trying to not have the extra expense of having to have the stumps ground. He assured me that they could be cut nearly flush with the ground. He said that his crew could probably cut the trees the very next day (Thurs) or Fri morning. He asked if it would be okay to mark the trees that needed to be cut with spray paint as I have many in my yard and he wanted to ensure that the crew knew exactly which ones. He called the next morning (Thurs) and said that the crew would be there within 30 to 45 minutes. They came during that time and very quickly and efficiently cut down two ornamental trees. They removed all the wood and raked and cleaned up the area when they were finished. They cut the trunks flush to the ground. I had asked for some of the smaller limbs to be cut to size to use in a wood grill and they were, with a reminder. I appreciate how quickly Mr Mathews responded to my initial message (same day) and how soon he came to provide the estimate (just 2 days later). The work was then completed by Thursday, which was great... They took care of it quickly and cleaned up when they were done. Thanks. I will be using them again!!

Todd came out and gave us a quote and and their quote was the lowest by several hundred dollars. Once we got on their schedule we did have to get moved around a few times but it was due to weather which was out of their control. Todd kept in contact with me throughout the process and never left us hanging or wondering if/when they would be there to take the tree down. They crew was fast and got the tree down, cut up, the stump removed, and the area all cleaned up in about 2 hours. They took care to not damage the property and even put some top soil in the large dent the trunk made in the wet ground where it fell. I just need to put some grass seed down! At my request they even cut the trunk up in to smaller sizes so that we can keep the wood to burn in our fire place this winter. We will need to rent a wood splitter, but it is cheaper than buying firewood!
