Todd was able to come out within an hour after I called, in order to give me a free estimate. My job wasn't urgent, but I was glad he was able to give me an estimate so quickly. Of the three estimates I received, his was slightly less than the others, and since he had good ratings on Angie's List, I decided to give him the job. He was able to perform the job the day after I accepted his estimate, which was appreciated. He arrived with two workers and was finished in 1-1/2 hours. There was some minor confusion as he hadn't remembered I also wanted him to remove the pile of branches, but after I reminded him, there was no problem and he finished the job. There were some minor scratches along the wood privacy fence where the branches had dragged against it while being removed from the back yard, but this wasn't a problem for me. The fence requires restaining anyway. Todd and his crew were courteous and professional. They raked the area around their equipment where they were working and then finished with a blower. I would definitely use Mathews Tree Service again.

Since Todd Mathews has many very favorable reports on Angie's List I saw no need to contact any other company. Todd came out and said he would do it for $185. He was delayed a couple days in doing the work due to rain. Since he wanted to keep his word and do the work on the day he rescheduled it he came out and did the work himself since the employee scheduled to do the job was sick. Todd places a great emphasis on customer satisfaction. That is obviously why he gets so many favorable reports, and repeat business I'm sure. I was highly pleased in every way and would certainly recommend him--as I have done already.

My experience was excellent. I called them early in the week and he came out the same day and gave me an estimate. He came out again when i was home and he already had the equipment so i had him do the work.

On-time and performed services well, cleaning up after themselves. I like the fact that Todd did not pretend to be a professional arborist. He provided advice based on his many years of experience but did not try to overstep his expertise.

Todd took out the tree the same day as he came over to give me a quote. Had other people look at the tree but was not told that they could take it out the same day until after I had given the job to Todd. Todd, is a very nice gentleman that knows what he is doing. He went the extra mile to get my dangerous tree out that same day even working after sunset. He left my yard (and the street out front) immaculate!

I was very pleased with the service and price I received from Matthews. No other company that I contacted for an estimate came anywhere near the price I was quoted by Matthews. They even did the work the same day; I got an estimate around 3 and the tree was gone by 6. They not only did a great job removing the tree, but the clean up was great as well.

Absolutely an "A". Todd was actually in the area when I called for an estimate so he came right over. He had time before his next appointment so after the estimate he went right to work. In the past I've had to point out what needed doing with other trimmers, but Todd has an excellent eye for proportion and he knew what to cut before I said anything - but he also asked me what I thought as we went along. After the cleanup, it's spotless so I am very happy with the whole experience. I'll definitely use him again and recommend him highly.

I am no expert on dead-wooding a tree and I understand that their lift bucket only goes so high, but they did not touch one of the oak trees and since they were at my house, I have spent countless hours, after storms, picking up dead limbs and branches out of my yard. I called Todd a couple of weeks ago and asked him if he could come back out to redo the trees as I thought that he had missed a lot of the dead limbs. He came back out to look at the trees but was confident that they hadn't missed anything (I can look at my trees and see dead limbs that he could have removed!). He wanted me to walk the property with him but I want him to finish the job that he obviously did not complete. I don't think that many dead limbs could appear in my trees in that short a period of time. I think that even though it looked OK at the time of the original work - there were a number of dead limbs that were missed and that should still be removed. I did not respond to any of the previous requests to give my opinion, but after spending 1 1/2 hours in my yard last night (09/07/10) picking up dead limbs and branches that came out of the trees after the wind storm, I am responding. I think that Mathews tree service needs to come out to my house and complete the task of removing all of the dead limbs and branches from all 4 trees - as high up as their bucket truck will reach or by using pole cutters or something. There were some issues with the time of the appointment - the originial appointment was for 11:00 and it was late afternoon before they came - he said they had some problems with their truck.

Todd Mathews came out promptly to give me an estimate. He and his crew were responsive and scheduled a service call quickly. They cleaned up the site when they completed their work. And, Todd addressed every one of my concerns before his crew left my property. Mathews Tree Service is extremely competent and professional. I will certainly use them again, should the need arise.

They arrived promptly on time completed the work in one day and did a great job including the clean up. They even hauled away some extra yard waste at no extra cost. Great job!

I wasn?t available when the estimate was done and he came out and did the estimate. He came when he said he would and he called me and gave me the estimate.

when i called for an estimate they arrived with in two days. after i recieved two more estimates from other companies i decided to use Mathews. they had the best price and i felt like they understood exactly what i needed. they day they came to do the work they were early and worked quickly. they did an excellent job at removing a tree and stump and trimming two bushes. they cleaned up every bit of the yard. there were no chunks of wood left. they were respectfull and prompt.

A tree fell into our fence during a windstorm. Mathews Tree Service removed the tree, which was pretty sizable. We were happy with the price.

Todd came out to give us his estimate about 2 weeks ago. He was very punctual and gave us an estimate that was much lower than the other 3 we received. Todd and his crew arrived exactly as planned on the date of service and completed all of the work with extreme care. Our yard and our neighbor's property were leaf-covered when they arrived. When they were finished, our yard and our neighbor's property were leaf and twig free. They did a wonderful job removing some very large and challenging limbs without damage to property, young trees, shrubs, plants, etc. below. I would highly recommend Todd!!!

Todd showed up at the agreed upon time and day to provide us with an estimate. He is charming, professional and the price is right. Two days later he and his crew came to the house and performed the above work in about three hours. They used a cherry picker to fell the pine tree in four separate cuts, trim a free-standing tree and also to reach tree branches over the house. Cleat-climbed one tree to purge wind-damaged branches. The crew was really pleasant and professional - they did the job they contracted to do, removed all debris and the clean up was very thorough. I appreciated how well and respectfully Todd worked with his two-man crew - he is a great boss, I'd imagine. He was also willing to renegotiate an additional fair price when I added a couple of last minute tree trimming requests to the job once they were on site. I would contract with Mathews Tree Service again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone - great outfit, great price, great work. (He also brings his adorable and well-behaved dog with him, who stays in the truck to watch.)
