Called Todd Mathew, owner, for an estimate of removing the large tree after one of the large branches fell on neighbor's house during wind storm in July. This is after getting estimates from other companies. Todd came out the same day after talking with him and gave me an estimate. Todd is very efficient and get's back with you right away. This crew is very good at what they do. The prices is great. They cleaned up very well after the work was done. I feel a lot safer now that the large maple tree is down. was afraid one more bad storm would have brought the whole tree down and hit someone's house.

They did an excellent job!!! We had put off having the trees removed. Carpenter ants had ruined the insides of the trees. We didn't know who to call to get the job done. So we joined Angie's list and searched the reviews on tree services. Todd, the owner was very prompt calling us back to schedule a free estimate. He came for the estimate and was very thorough coming up with a plan to safely remove them. We were very pleased with the estimate. On the scheduled day, Todd let us know that the crew of five were on their way. The crew was courteous and very hard-working! They worked together like a well-oiled machine. We were amazed how they were so knowledgeable on what to do to take down each very, tall tree safely. It was truly a skill performed by very experienced workers. In the afternoon, Todd even worked alongside of the crew. They worked into the dark to finish the huge job in one day. They did an excellent job cleaning up. We were very pleased with Mathew's Tree Service and would highly recommend their company. So happy that we no longer have to worry about our grandchildren playing in the backyard and having a large, dead branch falling down on them. Mathew's Tree Service and Todd were a pleasure to do business with!

I called Mathews and left a message. He got back to me that day, came out and next day for an estimate. He called the next day with the estimate. (it was 100.00 less than another company had quoted to remove the dead tree). After contacting him to do the work his crew was out within 2 days. We added the removal of the limbs off the house of another tree and we were in phone contact that day with estimates and they removed those the same day. They did the services they said they would for the price they quoted and cleaned up afterward. I was happy with the service and will use them again in the future if needed.

Todd was very responsive from the first phone call. The work with trimming the trees went well - however one of his trucks hit and damaged one of our gutters. Todd immediately set out to make it right and called his gutter guy. We had a problem with the quality of the gutter repair, and Todd made sure that it was fixed as quickly as possible. When the guys came to place a new tree in the place where we had had the old one removed, the stump was not grinded sufficiently low - so we had to delay putting the tree in and had to call Todd about the stump grinding problem. To his benefit, he came out the next day (a Sunday) and ground it down himself and actually put the tree into the hole. So, overall some hassles and I am not sure I would hire his service again, but Todd himself was responsive and professional.

no return calls - not about to leave a third message. 9/16/13 Received a handwritten letter from Todd, explaining problems they have experienced with their phones (Sprint). Appreciate the time and professionalism in reaching out to us. Will reach out to them again to set up appointment for an estimate on tree trimming services. Appreciate them reaching out to us and trying to rectify things.

They did a very good job. They cleaned up afterwards and were very nice. They were on time and charged a fair amount.

They removed a very large tree and stump. Because of the location of the tree, they had to climb the tree. All wood was removed and they returned the next day to remove the stump. They kept us informed of their progress throughout the day

EXTRAORDINARY, that's all I can say. If you have a big or small job this is definitely your company. In a day and age like this, I find it very hard to find what I consider to be professional companies on all ends, but I found one in Mathew's Tree Service. When you call and reach someone you speak directly to the owner of the company Todd Mathews, because he's very hands on and not in the background somewhere. And this is a large company. Todd proved to be extremely knowledgeable and was very thorough in his explanation of what they would do and how they would do the job. What was also rare, is that I talked to Todd about 15 minutes or more minutes about questions that I had and as the owner he never once tried to rush me off the phone as though he was too busy to talk to me and didn't have time. When we discussed the cost he was more than fair and his price was below most of the other estimates that I received. On the day of the service a crew of about 4 or more men showed-up TIMELY, two (2) humungous trucks, one with a bucket and extension and a small Bobcat Tractor. The tree was very close to my house, but they removed the tree safely without any damage whatsoever to my property. They also removed (ground) these massive roots that were damaging the foundation of my house. When they cleaned up my yard, it was in PRISTINE condition. I mean they even cleaned-up things (branches, leaves, etc.) that were in the yard before they got there. I was so impressed with how hard they worked and the pride that they took in their work that I was literally speechless. I was like WOW. I would definitely use Mathew's Tree Service again without considering any other company and recommend them to others. If someone does good work I believe in tooting their horn and giving credit where credit is do. The owner, Todd, is extremely personable and just a down-right nice guy.

Todd was on time for estimate and gave a fair and affordable price that was accepted immediately. When asked when the work could be completed, Todd stated today. Crew worked from 2pm-9pm that day with total clean up and wood was cut and left to specifications. All members of the crew were very professional and kept safety of the crew and property damage up front at all times. There was a problem with two split rails in a very tight area, but rather the fence than either house that could have been damaged otherwise. The damage was covered immediately.

Initially cost for job was underquoted. BUT he was willing to keep his word and did an excellent job.

The crew showed up on time and original plan was to remove 1 tree. Since they were doing a great job I requested they cut down a second tree time permitting. They did just that and the clean up work afterwards was amazing. I personally didn't know I would be responsible for removing the wood chips after the stumps were grinded so this was a huge effort on my part to get completed. I now understand this is standard practice so it would be a good idea to have someone available to assist with this effort. I don't hold this company responsible for my ignorance; just thought this would be a good thing to share with others as they prepare to have trees removed.

After at first failing to show for some estimate appointments, everything else went very well and we concluded very satisfied.

Todd called to let us know when they would be on site. The crew worked hard. They cleaned up the yard. Everything went vary well.

Mathews' tree service did an excellent job. They were amazing, especially the guy who climbed the trees. They took great care with my landscaping and cut and felled the trees with expert precision. The crew was courteous and they worked very hard and efficiently.

I called Angie's List and two companies. Mathews responded first, come over two days later and quoted me a price. I accepted, they were on time and did a great job. I paid $20 to each worker! I will get them back to take down the entire tree for $1,200, years ago I had a quote for $5000.

I found Mathews tree service on Angies list and gave them a call to get an estimate on coutting down and removing numerous dead trees on my property. I got Todd on the phone the first time that I called and set up an apointment for him to look at the trees. Even though it was raining on the day of the estimate he still came out and completed the estimate. Todd and his crew showed up on the day the work was to be completed and we all walked the job site. When I had tagged the trees the year before I had missed one or two and Todd added them into the quote to get them removed at the same time. Todd and his crew were very courteous and professional and overall did an excellent job. If I have any tree work to be done in the future I know who to call.

They gave us an estimate on removing a large ash and a smaller tree. When they arrived we had noticed what bad shape a nearby tree was in and asked if they could do remove it too. The price was agreed on and they began work. They arrived around 8:30 and worked diligently. This was a difficult job and it went off without a hitch .Care was given to spare my flowers which were coming up.The crew of three completed the job about 5:30. They used a 60 ft. bucket truck. They did an excellentt job.

Contacted company, received call back same day, within 2 hours. Estimate time set up. As promised, called before arriving to make sure still ok for estimate. Arrived on time. Todd was very courteous and professional. Estimate received. Time set up for two days later for bushes to be removed and stumps removed from ground. Arrived on time for the removal of the bushes/hedges. Total work time, less than 2 hours. While at my house, discussed removing another hedge. Todd was great. He said he needed to finish another job and then would come back to take care of the extra hedge I added to the removal list. As promised, within 2 hours he was back to remove the other hedge. Clean up was great. After all the work was completed on that project. I asked Todd to give me an estimate on a very large pine tree cut down. The estimate was very fair and I had really liked the work completed already. I scheduled the pine tree cut down for the day after I returned from vacation. That morning, Todd called to let me know the crew was on their way. This project took about 5 hours (a large tree). The workers were great and again the clean up was great. I will be doing business again with Mathews Tree Service. From beginning to end, a great experience.

He was timely. He came when he said he would come. He kept the price that he quoted with the price I paid. He cleaned up and it was no trouble to me. The price was reasonable.

Todd gave us a fair estimate on removing 4 of our ash trees infected with emerald ash borers. The crew arrived promptly at 8:00 and worked all day removing the trees that were located close to our home, shed and wooden fence. They did a great job getting them down and cleaning up when the job was finished including removing the wood and sawdust from the stump grinding. We are very satisfied with the work and will use again and recommend to others.

I found Mathews Tree service on Angie's. Called and spoke to Todd. Todd is the owner and came out to meet me to provide an estimate. Mathews Tree service removed one very, very large DEAD Maple tree and 5 medium to large additional trees. As part of the job they coordinated with AEP to get service lines dropped ansd reconnected to my house and my neighbors house. Todd and his crew were, professional curtious and very easy to work with. They did what they said they would do and cleaning up nicely when they were done. I found a few other companies on Angie's list that were a little less expensive, but I was not satisfied with the reviews In saw on angie's list... I also spoke to a few other companies that were more expensive. I felt that Mathew's Tree Service was the best combination of Price and Service.

They gave me a good deal compared to what I'd heard from other people who've had the work done. The clean up was very good and the owner operator was timely in his appointment for an estimate. very good service!

Crew of 5 worked all day to get the job done before dark. Courteous and professional - they worked efficiently and safely to get the trees down without damaging the house or yard. We would recommend this service to neighbors and friends.

Matthews Tree Service did an excellent job of removing our trees and grinding out the stumps. When Todd came to make the estimate he indicated his ability to do the job that day after he gathered up the necessary equipment and completed another job. He provided the estimate (more competitive than another we'd received the day before) then called back shortly thereafter to confirm that start time. He and his crew arrived on time, completed the job with care and in roughly the time they estimated it would take. Todd and his crew took particular care to clean up our backyard with a blower so that it was difficult to even tell that three tree stumps had been ground out. Todd also provided advice on how to prepare stump holes for filling and grass seeding.
