We were able to set up an appointment within a week, and the person on the telephone was nice and polite. A technician came to our house on time, checked the system and made a tune-up. He seemed knowledgeable and we assume the work was well done. One problem was that the technician left our home with a heating filter that was lying next to our system, without asking for permission. We assume he thought we did not need it (and most likely we did not), but it was rude to just take it with him. He also suggested we replace an igniter, for which we were charged about $90. I found out later, I could have bought that igniter for about $40. I may or may not hire this company again, I may shop around for other vendors just to compare.
Description of Work: We signed an annual service agreement with Airtron. They came out to do a winter tune up of our heating system.

They called to ask if they could come over earlier than scheduled and we agreed. Was very courteous and professional, explained what he was doing, and answered our questions. Told us about Airtron's contract for two visits per year (for A/C and furnace) and the discount on services and parts we could get if we signed up for the contract. Was agreeable to our wanting to wait to decide on that.
Description of Work: Abdul came out to do our annual furnace inspection. He also addressed a concern about cool air coming out of our vents and found that we have a problem with the blower motor. Gave us an estimate to replace motor.

Suggested we needed to replace the entire HVAC, air handler and heat pump. Gave us a $9000 quote, we signed a contract for installation and financing. He really insisted this was the best thing to do and showed all the ''discounts'' and cost savings we were getting and that they we're giving us their best rate because we were such good customers. We got more quotes, found out from 3 other companies we didn't need to replace the heat pump right away. Still, got quotes for comparable and IDENTICAL heat pump + air handler systems, for nearly $3000 less. VERY disappointing. We feel that Airtron did not operate in good faith, and took advantage of the fact we had no heat during the cold snap we had 2 weeks ago. We used the 3 day rule to cancel the contract, and went with another contractor.

We turned our furnace on for the first time this season, and it only blew cold air. We called Airtron, since we have used them for the past few years. Due to the "mad rush" of the season, we waited three days for someone to come out, but only after a lot of confusion over the "call ahead and meet us at the house" game. The tech did finally make it out on Monday evening. The cost of this initial diagnosis was $81.00. He found the problem, saying the gas valve would need replaced. He called the shop (or main office) and told us the part wasn't in, but that someone would call in a day or so to let us know when the part would be in and how soon they could come and repair the furnace. On Wednesday they called and said they were waiting on the part and someone would be out on Sunday to replace the valve. And, the additional cost would be just about $400. Frustrated with the cost and wait time, we sought a 2nd opinion and had the work performed by someone else, for 1/2 the cost.
Description of Work: Airtron came out to inspect our furnace and diagnose problems, since it was only blowing cold air when we first turned it on this season. Since they didn't have the required part (said it would be a week) and because of the high cost, we opted not to have them perform the work.

Airtron is generally able to get a service technician appointment within a week of the call (this was not an emergency). The technician is prompt and professional. Performed check of A/C. Answered all of my questions and explained what he was doing.
Description of Work: The Project Cost is based on being "under contract" with Airtron to have our furnace and A/C serviced in fall and spring respectively. In the spring I had our A/C checked that it was working properly.

I purchased the annual service agreement, so the price listed for this job is actually the annual maintenance fee, which also includes an annual spring check-up.
Description of Work: Scheduled routine fall check-up of furnace. Both the scheduler and service technician were very pleasant and professional. Technician was on time and completed the work efficiently. A problem was found and a follow up appointment scheduled to meet my overall schedule requirements.

Had service guy come out to look at the central A/C because it stopped cooling. I wanted him to check it for leaks but he talked me out of it and charged the unit. It worked fine for a few months then it stopped working. I had them come out again to do the service agreement spruce up on the heater for the winter and mentioned that the air wasn't working. Before the service guy looked at it he stated that it was the coil that was bad because the unit was older and I would probably need to replace it. I wasn't looking to replace the unit. I wanted it repaired. I wanted the unit checked for leaks the first time around and felt like I was getting the run around from the repairman. I looked outside and noticed that some wires on the air conditioner were disconnected. I had the service guy put them back together and what do you know, the thing started working again. I asked for the unit to be charged again. The service guy talked me out of it. Now the unit doesn't work again. My rating is F.
Description of Work: Had central air conditioner checked for leaks and repairs and had recharged. Bought a service agreement to have the heating checked in October.

We called 3 different companies to get estimates for a new furnace and a/c unit. Airtron was the first company that we met with, and he assured us that other companies we were meeting with would be hard pressed to beat his price. We were extremely disappointed (and frankly offended) to hear his estimate of $13,200 when another company's estimate was $6500 for the exact same system! This goes to show the importance of getting a second opinion. We took our business elsewhere.

Made same day appointment and arrived on time. Found the problem and repaired it quickly. Checked the unit after the repair and tested the output. Price for the part seemed high, but there's not much you can do in that situation.

I have used this company before and the last time I used them they used the same excuse for not showing up on time. They stated that their worker was backed up on another job. This time they said they would be at my house between 10 and 2. At 2, no one had ever shown up or called. I called their office and they said they would call me back when they heard from the technician. I never heard back from anyone until 5 p.m. and then was told the technician had gotten ''backed up'' on his previous job. I also was told I was never given a time, however, their receptionist explicitly said that someone would be there between 10 and 2.
Description of Work: No work was performed because they never showed up at the stated time.

I am very much satisfied with their work. The only reason I gave a B for their pricing is because I did not call other companies and do not know where they fall.
Description of Work: I had a lot of water dripping and ice formed on the outside unit. I called Airtron and they came did some diagnostics and said it was low on refrigerant. They added the refrigerant and told me a few things to look for.

My airconditioner died on a Sunday. I called in, and Jeff gave me a couple things to check before they came out. I really appreciated that. On Monday it as still dead so Tim came out. We found out that my unit is from 1975. I was afraid I would have to replace the whole unit. The motor had died. Tim was able to intall a replacement motor and getting it going again. Tim was very friendly. They called to tell me they were on their way. It was a great experience, I will recommend Airtron to everyone.

Great company for A/C service. I spoke with several people at Airtron, and everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional. Another company let me down when my unit needed service over Memorial Day weekend, so it was good to see Airtron step up. I also received a quote for a new A/C (10 SEER 2.5 ton) and filtering system. However, I went with another company, because the other company was able to have the unit installed the next day.
Description of Work: Performed service on my A/C the day after Memorial Day. They came out, did a leak check on the system, determined that the evap. coil was leaking, filled the unit with R22 (freon). A sales man also gave me a quote for a new unit since my 18-year old unit was going out.

The salesperson for Airtron was very nice, but he didn't seem to know his products very well. I chose another company that seemed to understand their products and how to fit them to my needs. I gave them a B on pricing because what they quoted was reasonable, but it wasn't the best solution for my house (based on the other quotes I received for the same project).

During routine check up, I was told that I needed a new part (a contactor) for the AC. I spent SIX weeks trying to get a quote and set up an appointment. Finally, I threatened to cancel my annual service contract. Within a few days, I had a tech come by to replace contactor. Turns out that it wasn't needed in the first place. The second tech showed me the part and described what we should be looking for. I had a different company come out to complete a repair to my furnace because Airtron is not an authorized vendor for Homeguard warranties. While they were there I asked them to double check the contactor, and they confirmed that the part was not needed. While checking the contactor the second company noticed that my AC unit was extremely dirty. They spent 30 minutes cleaning it out; something that airtron was supposed to have done just a few weeks earlier. They also tested the coolant level, which turned out to be significantly low. Again, this should have been caught by Airtron.
Description of Work: Multiple services were performed including: Regularly scheduled maintenance of AC and furnance, which is supposed to include inspection and cleaning. I orignally had a positive experience. It was so positive that I contracted Airtron to install an electronic air filter and humidifier. That process, while slow, went fine. Please note that while the grades below are reflective of my overall experience, I did have several very professional and knowledgeable techs come to my house (including the installation of my accessories). The quality of work and professionalism grades would have been lower if not for the positive experience I had with two specific technicians that performed work unrelated to the annual maintenance. My real issue was dealing with the home office, and the fact that the technicians didn't properly clean the AC or recognize that the coolant level that was significantly low.

Airtron replaced the furnace prior to me heading out of town. The service staff arrived at 8:30 AM and completed at 7:30 PM. When they completed I was not shown how to operate the humidifier and nothing was gone over on anything else. When I returned home from work, I noticed the house was cold. It was on 69 degrees which I used to leave my old furnace on 68. I had to turn the furnace up to 75 to heat the house. I called, they sent out a tech who adjusted the dampers. This still did not help, I spoke to airtron about this several times. However it is spring now so there is no way to currently test it. For $4000.00 I am very disappointed in the product. I do not believe I should have the thermostat set on 75 just to keep the house warm when the old furnace was always on 68. I wish I would of have had the old furnace fixed and saved me a great deal of money. I need to have air conditioning installed, however I am going to quote this around. Airton's cost is too high.
Description of Work: My blower kept coming on and off on my system. Airtron came out, and recommended that I replace rather than repair. I hesitated, and told them I would need to think about it. I had them come back out to repair, and they again suggested that I have it replaced. I was leaving out of town and did not want to leave the house without heat for 4 days. I felt the cost was high, however needed to get something done, so the house was not without heat.

Karen was extremely nice. Unfortunately the unit quoted was not ''economy'' and ultimately (we concluded) not warranted based on our current short-term need. But Karen was the first to consider not just the square footage of the house but the (excessive) number of windows and (nearly complete lack of) insulation. She was also the first to tell us of the huge temperature difference we would feel between first and second floors and the first to explain that our current furnace may not have a strong enough fan to get the cool up to the second floor at all changing our entire shopping strategy. She wasn't pushy, was more than willing to answer questions and was very open about information needed to make an educated decision. Her courtesy, from the moment I saw her on our porch to the moment she left spoke well of Airton.
Description of Work: Karen came to our residence to provide us with a free quote for newly installed a/c. We were looking for 10-seer which is hard to find now but Karen was able to locate a Bryant.

THEY SENT TWO GUYS OUT, AND THEY WERE REALLY CLEAN. I WAS REALLY HAPPY BECAUSE I CALLED THEM AT A BAD TIME. IT WAS DURING THE HOLIDAYS, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO COME AND FIX MY FURNACE. IT WAS IMPORTANT TO GET SOMEONE THAT COULD COME RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY HEAT IN THE WINTER. THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE JOB IN A LITTLE OVER A DAY.
