We called Rich for mold remediation and general cleanup/fixup of the problem. He promptly returned our call and came out on a weekend since water damage is very time sensitive. He setup a fan in our basement to float the carpet and dry it, and sprayed an anti-microbial in a few places which was suppose to kill the black mold. The spray job was not done thoroughly and mold still exists under cabinets and on the very damaged subfloor. I kept expressing my concerns to Rich and he continued to minimize the issue recommending I just hire him to tile over it - essentially, throw a blanket over the black mold and structural problem. He said for $300, he would spray all mold, fix basement ceiling tiles, and install a newly purchased dishwasher. He showed up for this work the next day ~6 hours late and completely unprepared. For said job he had no phillips screwdriver, no hammer, and a non-charged drill. He didn't touch the ceiling tiles, nor had he gathered the materials to replace them. He took apart my dishwasher, didn't install it, and didn't put it back together. He sprayed for mold here and there but it still exists to this day. He charged $100 that day and continued the push to hire him to effectively throw a blanket over the situation. I feel like I paid $175 to have a fan in my basement a couple days, for him to disassemble my dishwasher, and to waste my time. I won't be hiring him again.
Description of Work: We had a chronic dishwasher leak that, once discovered, led to water in the basement ceiling/floor, mold in between 3 layers of kitchen flooring, and damaged subfloor in and around the kitchen cabinets. We called Rich, who I randomly chose off craigslisit for mold remediation and general cleanup/fixup of the problem.
