Able Roofing

This was a big project and took three days to complete. Crew arrived around 7:30am and worked until after 9pm to get the majority of the house done. Second day crew arrived 7:15am (due to pending rain, completed rubber roof for the front porch and garage. Site Manager Andy showed up a total of five times during the three days and even went to the warehouse to get more wood for roof and porch. Only issue is crew refused to close off two old vents to make sure new vent system worked properly, edge vents, lower part of roof, and ridge vent on crown of roof. In the end Andy went up into the attack to close the old vents. Andy made sure the roof on house and garage were completed by Tuesday to make sure the house would be ready for the gutter crew arriving Wednesday. Overall crew worked hard did a good job cleaning up my yard and roof and gutters look good.

Well, the installation was very good, highly professional. They did a good cleanup at completion and throughout the process. The installers were very polite. My only issue was with the salesman. It was like after we signed the contract, he just wasn't very responsive, the salesman, but everyone else was A-plus, you know, across the board.

We had them put in two skylights too or replace two skylights. I was going to get a couple of estimates. When I called them, the estimate sounded good compared to one I had gotten several years ago from somebody. I just decided to go with them. I knew they had been around for a long time. It was just a standard roof job. They were able to replace the two skylights and roof, I think in one day. At one time, they ripped all the shingles off and we had a hole in our bathroom and a hole in our bedroom where the skylights were supposed to go. Evidently there was no chance of rain. I know they had to go and get some 2X4's to get the skylights to fit. They were replacing ones that were already there. They replaced them with better ones. They did not fit exactly the same but they did a good job. They got it all done in a day.

They were excellent. I don't really remember the cost.

I think for the 12 years it was up there it has done well.

Two people came out to do the work. They found the leak fairly easily and said where the leak was hadn't been fixed. They were here for two days. I think the first day they came out and found the leak and the second day they came back and repaired it. They put the roof on in the first place.

Matt worked tirelessly with the insurance company to maximize their contribution, a truly exceptional experience. Had some trouble with communication when scheduling the roofs, some of it was due to weather restrictions. Installation went well, but 30% of the drip rails weren't installed correctly around the gutters. Brian addressed all of them personally, another great experience.

Everything went great. We contacted Able Roof last week. Chris Smith from Able Roof came out within two days, inspected the roof, took pictures while he was up there, showed us photos of the aging shingles, sat at our kitchen table and explained the process, materials, warranties, and he gave us our quote. We approved the quote on Tuesday of last week. Their office called us on Friday to say they had the permit and that they would start on Monday morning. Brian Fitzpatrick, the project manager called us on Sunday evening to introduce himself and explain everything that was going to happen on Monday. The crews showed up on Monday morning on time and worked 13 long, hard hours. They returned this morning and was done by noon. Brian stopped in and walked around with me to make sure we were happy. We are extremely pleased with the whole process. The most AMAZING thing to me is the cleanup of the job. Tearing off roofs causes many nails to fall in the yard. I have a dog and my biggest concern was how many nails were going to be in the yard when they left and the safety for my kids and dog to go in the yard. I walked around the house/yard and have not seen any nails. We are VERY pleased with Able Roof and would recommend them to our family and friends.

It was very good experience. From the salesman through the installation they did what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. The cleanup afterwards was fine. I had gotten several estimates and their price was fair. The price was much better than other places. This was the first time I used them.

Said would install in one day it took three. They left off the ridge vents and had to tear the roof off and do it over. Then the drip edge was installed with wrong color. The project manager was flippant and put out that he had to come on "his Saturday" to correct the problem. On the first day he didn't even bother to come until 1:00 p.m. when the crew arrived at 8:00. If he had, perhaps they would've realized what to do. In less than a week it rained and the roof leaked into our second story ceiling. Once again, the project manager was "put out" by the fact that he had to come again on a Saturday. We were very upset by his attitude and several things that he said. Felt he was unprofessional. We still have not received a phone call back about the credit we were told we'd received because of our experience.

It worked out very good. They are not cheap but they do very good work.

After we decided on Able they had an opening the next Friday to come out. Amazing how fast they where. All done in 1 day. Tear off, New roof and skylights and clean up, impressed. One hiccup, they put the attic fan on wrong section. But after one call they came out in 3 days and made it right. Looks great.

I am not happy with them. They came, charged me for some work that was not correct. I called them and they said they would not fix the work. They said it was not their problem and were going to charge me again. I found out about that and then I brought the next contractor in and he said it was not paid for. Then somebody came in, brushed on some paint and left.

They do windows also, but they are called Able Roofing.

They replaced the window with no charge.

My neighbor had a roofing contractor replace their roof and the workers allowed all types of debris to fall into my yard. I have had to clean up pieces of metal, Styrofoam, nails, particle board and trash in my yard. When they took this stuff off, the pieces were small and I had pick it all up by hand. I had to pick up pieces the size of silver dollars. I have done some investigation on this company and I have found that they are not pulling appropriate permits. This provider needs to speak to their employees and teach them how to clean up after themselves. I am very angry that this company would allow their employees to act in such as unprofessional and disrespectful way. It took me an hour to clean up their mess. I would never hire this provider.

We had a simple job to have gutters repaired that leaked. Estimator came out and was very professional and on time. We agreed to have the work done. Then a few days later another person called to confirm and asked me what work was being performed. I shared the previous persons recommendation which they questioned. I was contacted again to get confirmation on the work to be completed. I shared that I am not an expert and was expecting their recommendation. It was a very confusing process. There were several Able folks in the mix not talking to each other. Work was scheduled and the crew was dispatched. When the crew arrived they were also not sure what to do. I told them the problem I was trying to fix and they attempted to complete the work. Note that they did not clean up after themselves and left sharp metal pieces in the front yard. We have kids so this was dangerous. After the next rain storm, I found the problem was not fixed. I called and shared my experience and I was fortunate to work with one of their General Managers who was terrific. He was prompt, apologized about my experience and was able to finally have the work done properly. And, since we did not use all of the material quoted in the original quote that they would update and send a new bill. The new bill never came. What I did get was continued notices to pay the original bill. The Biller e-mailed me as well and I sent a return e-mail that I was waiting for any update to the original quote. No reply. I also called and was transferred several times to someone that was going to look into the issue and never received a return call. Finally, today after getting a "Final bill notice", I called again and asked to speak with a live body. I was transferred to voice mail twice and disconnected once. On my final attempt, I was able to get to the billing manager who shared that the Biller had been transferred and it appears that no one was checking her e-mails. She also shared that I was told that there was a minimum charge and that someone told me this... This was a shock since I never even received the courtesy of a return call even after multiple messages. Interesting that the invoice that I received is higher than the minimum but I am just going to pay the full amount as the hassle is just not worth any more of my time. Overall, a very disappointing customer experience for a company that pretends to "make you smile" All they had to do was just call back one time.

I called Able to get a second opinion after a random guy in a pickup truck came by telling me I had storm damage. The estimator from Able showed me how the roof was indeed needing to be replaced, but that it was also highly likely that the other guy had pulled shingles off the roof to make the case. Either way, insurance covered the replacement, Able's people showed up promptly when they said they would and got the job done in a day. They were pretty good about keeping the mess to a minimum and I only found a few nails once they were gone. The crew didn't communicate much in English, but the job supervisor that came out halfway thru the day did. Everyone was very polite, what I observed looked to be safe/careful, and they paid attention to details. The finished product is great. The only thing I'm still waiting for is Able to provide a final invoice so I can close the deal with the insurance company. Repeated phone calls and emails have not been returned, and I'm a bit surprised that they haven't bothered to close the deal so everyone could get paid. The insurance company gave me a check for half of the claim, which I signed over to Able, and the rest won't come through until we get a final invoice. 40 days later we're still waiting for the invoice from Able...that's the only negative so far.

First, let me say that the crew that installed the roofs was excellent. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up after themselves. They worked late to finish the job. The job took 3 long days. The roofs look great! With that being said, I am still trying to get the snow guards installed - over 2 weeks later - even though they were on the contract and paid for. Snow guards are important on a metal roof to keep gutters from being torn off as snow slides off metal roofs much more easily that a shingled roof. It's November 20. The saga begins when the person who came to give the estimate asked me if I was serious about putting on a metal roof so I didn't waste his time. He was not the person who came to finalize the contract 2 weeks later. This is August 31, 2015. We paid by check, the full amount. Delivery time was estimated to be in 2 weeks. This was important because we were putting solar on the shop roof and the solar company had to wait on the roof. Able never called me again. For the next 2 months, I repeatedly had to chase them down, even when they told me they would call back. The material was repeatedly on order, soon to come in, but they never called to keep me informed. The week they were ready was the week we had a vacation scheduled - two months later! Meanwhile, they had all the money. The crew leader had no idea snow guards were to go on; they weren't on his list. I was informed by the project manager that they needed to be ordered! Really?! Oh, and they should be in on Friday, 11/7, and installed 11/10. November 20, I have just called Able (like I said, they don't keep me informed) and "production" doesn't know anything about them or what the status is. I'm at a raised level of frustration right now. I guess I'll wait for snow and get all new free gutters from them.

The workers showed up on time, worked hard, did a great job, and left by the date expected. The cleanup was excellent.

I don't know if they are on Angie's List. They did not charge me because it was under warranty. They had put the roofing on and it was still leaking. I would recommend that they handle the situation in a more timely manner. This has been going on for years. They just seem to be negligent in repairing the work that was not done properly. All of this work they have been doing has been covered under the warranty so I have not paid any more since they put the roof on. That was the one good thing. As far as covering the expense on the outside they have been very good about doing that, but it is the interior of my house that I have had to dole out money to repair that was not covered under their policy. I am not well pleased with their services. This has cost me a fortune on repairing walls and ceilings. The problem never got solved. Hopefully yesterday they finally figured it out. I am not a happy camper. When the water is leaking in your house and they say they will be out in a couple of weeks, that does not go over too well. I would give them an A or arriving here when they said they would.

Everything was done promptly and professionally. The sales person was very professional and helpful. When we had concerns about the appearance of the screening, it was taken care of immediately.

Luke was originally scheduled at my house between 9-11AM. Able Roof called me that morning and said he was ill, so I rescheduled for the next Tuesday with another employee. When I heard someone on my roof that same morning I inquired. They had sent Michael for the same time slot in place of Luke. Luke called and talked to me while Michael was on the roof. Both men were detailed with their explanations and professional. Michael took pictures and showed me what he would be repairing. These pictures were also sent to me via email. I would use them again.

Overall their responsiveness was terrific. The crew who did the job couldn't have been better. Here on time, worked hard all day and cleaned around the house very well. The roof looks terrific and the skylights are such a vast improvement over the ones that were here and the ability to open then plus have blinds is exactly what I wanted. My main disappointment was that I think the sales person over promised on what could be done. The electrical work on the windows ended up being my responsibility. Also once the old windows were taken out the framing of the windows on the inside is my responsibility as well. With two of the windows being over two stories high the wiring and framing have been difficult at best to manage. I also felt that I could have ordered the windows directly from a Velux dealer and gotten a better deal and a better fit. These have reduced the overall window area by about 4 inches all the way around. They were also not centered in the previous opening so now the framing is going to have to somehow accommodate that. I would recommend Able highly. The on-site manager was great to work with as well as the crew. Just felt like the sales person over promised and the company wasn't as knowledgeable about the skylights.
