Sunday morning, no hot water. Called A Plumbing (from Angies List) .To my surprise got a "live" person. Very personable. Took a lot of time with me discussing possible causes. I checked with a few other companies, but called back A Plumbing and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. A highly professional contractor came right on time (called just ahead) , installed, cleaned up, took old tank. The next day we noticed a piece of our retractable screen door track was dented from removing the old tank. I called A Plumbing regarding possible insurance to replace the track. They told me to have it repaired and send them the bill. Working with A Plumbing was a great experience from start to finish.

I called and talked to Dave Wolfe of A plumbing and he was able to meet me the next day to give me an estimate for the work. Dave struck me as quite the character and you'll immediately be at ease when talking to him about the plumbing work you need done. His estimate was right in the middle of the pack when it came to the cost, but he spent the most time with me looking at all my concerns and talking about the right and wrong way to address the issues. The only reason we didn't use him was because we decided not to purchase the home after finidng some serious black mold and structural issues. I look forward to calling Dave in the future when i need some plumbing work done.

Performed the service in less than an hour. Efficient, took time to explain what I didn't understand.

David's plumbers and a backhoe operator showed up at 9:00am sharp as they had scheduled. They attempted to shut off the water to the house but the valve at the street didn't work and the city had to come out to replace it. David was able to get them right out and his guys sontinued preparing for the new line. They managed to save a large tree in our front yard and didn't charge any extra even though they had to had dig a portion of the trench and had to wait on the city. They has it finished by 3:00pm with the ditch backfilled.

Service charge began when he walked in the door. Replaced a kitchen faucet that had worked itself loose from the sink. He had a faucet on his truck because I didn't have a new one on hand. He said that he would have to charge another service charge if they returned to install one that I purchased. He was personable and courteous. We are satisfied with the installation.

They were on time. They told me what was going to be the cost before they went ahead and did it, which was good. A friend of mine had also recommended them, and I checked them on Angie’s List, and it worked out okay. I can’t really comment on pricing as I didn’t have a comparable. I can only say that their price was acceptable. Their punctuality was very good.

I called around 10 am 6/25/2012. The receptionist was very courteous and professional. She let me know that a plumber would be arriving by afternoon and that she would call when he was on the way. At around 11AM she called back and the plumber (Rob) arrived at 11:15. He gave me a complete and detailed estimate which I approved. He completed the job by noon. Everything was cleaned up. All work was completed satisfactorily. He was very pleasant and professional in his demeanor. All in all a good experience.

The experience was very bad, from start to finish. The amount that was charged, the plumber’s attitude, and everything else was very poor.

They were very good. They were prompt and explained the problem and solution well.

Received a call from my tenant on Thursday that the storm sewer was clogged and significant size pond was created in the parking lot behind our building. I called A- Plumbing and set-up an appointment for the next day (Friday). Was very pleased with A-Plumbing's prompt response. Signed a contract for a rate of $185 per hour with a 3hour minimum charge. A -plumbing began to Jet the pipe to unclog the drain. No success. Tried to remove the grate over the catch-basin. No success. Worked for 1 hour at the job site without any success. A-plumbing assumed the pipe was collapsed or broken and gave me a bid for $3000 to excavate to repair the assumed broken pipe. A-plumbing then wanted to charge me $555 for 1 hour of work plus travel time without solving my problem. I asked the A-plumbing workers to call their boss to reduce the cost for their time since they did not solve my problem. The owner of A-plumbing reduced the cost by $155 = net cost to me $400 yet no repair. Not a happy customer. Went back to my office, called a different contractor, set-up appointment for Monday morning. New contractor, Jet the pipe, removed the grate, cleaned out the catch basin full of leaves, got rid of "my pond", spent 1 hour and 20 minutes plus travel time and only charged me $256. Problem solved. Happy tenants. Happy Landlord. Do not recommend A-Plumbing.

I had called this company at around 1:30 PM on Saturday requesting someone to come out and look at a stopped drain. I was told that we would be the last stop of the day at around 4:30 or 5:00 PM. This was acceptable to me. In result, no one showed up and no one called as I was told would happen prior to them showing up. Quickly, stated: No one showed or called to explain why. I did previously rate a similar this company an A on a previous occasion two years ago. Unfortunate that the experiences were inconsistent.

We contacted the company b/c we had a back-up in our kitchen sink and needed help unclogging it. The individual who came "snaked" the pipe and got the drain flowing again (it took approx 1.5 hours and charged us $250). He then announced there was a hole in a pipe downstairs. I questionned how we got a hole in a pipe downstairs if it wasn't there previously. He said, "I don't know ma'am, it might have happened when I snaked it, but I can't help that." When my husband asked for a quote, the gentleman told him $500. We asked how he came up with the price, and he said approximately $60 for the parts and 3 hours worth of labor. The plumber started repairing the pipe at 12:45 pm and when my husband returned at 2:15, the plumber was done and waiting. It took him less than 1.5 hours and he refused to adjust the price. I called the office after the experience and left a message for the owner who has not returned my call.

We had a plumber come out 5 years ago and weren t able to correct the hot water problem, but A plumbing was able to fix the problem. He also only recommended services that needed to be completed.

A Plumbing came out on time & as scheduled. Tim snaked the drain in an hour and explained what caused the problem and offered preventative solutions for the future. Only issue is the price seems high for an hour's work and includes a mandatory $45 service call fee. The appointment setter would not offer any ballpark quote other than to say they charge the service fee just to come out to make the quote.

Water stopped coming out of the kitchen faucet even though I had water everywhere else. This happened on Saturday. I tried to fix it myself but couldn't. After placing many calls, A-Plumbing was able to come out the same day.

My wife called because it was an emergency. The pipe was leaking and it hasn't been since they fixed it. I did not think the price was reasonable for what they did so i will not use them again.

Another company had sent out two different people and diagnosed the problem as being worse than it really was. Before waiting for the third plumber to arrive, I called A Plumbing. They sent somebody out within the hour [they were a couple blocks away]. The service rep gave me a fair quote, offered me a coupon. Rep performed the work within my expectations. He was in and out within an hour. He was professional the entire time. I understand that this was just a clogged drain, but based on the service provided, A Plumbing will definitely be the first plumber I called for an estimate next time [even if it is $40 to have them come out]

Good. They responded very quickly. The leak was in a plastic water line that was in front of our main electrical panel. I was concerned the line may burst.

Our garbage disposal began making a rattling noise and then stopped working so we called A Plumbing. They sent someone out and he removed the quarter in about five to ten minutes. The price seemed rather expensive for so little work.

They always let you know ahead of time what their cost is. They are on time, professional, and get the job done. You don't have to call them back ever.

Estimate was far too high. For one full day of work, the cost was going to be about $1200 in labor plus materials. In the end, we decided to hire out some of the work to another company that charged hourly (4 hours of labor to do more than we had asked this company to do) and I called a friend to help me do the rest (took us total amateurs less than 5 hours). For a professional, that have would work out to about $150/hour! While I like fixed-fee rates, they have got to be reasonable--the inflated quote hurt the professionalism for a guy that otherwise seemed like he at least knew about plumbing. In this case I felt I was being played for a fool or as someone who would not even question the cost versus value of the quote and I'm very happy that I chose to do it myself--the silver lining is that I feel like I saved 50%, nearly $1000, and I have a much better solution and better equipment installed to boot.

They were on time, professional and polite. I would recommend them to anyone and use them again in the future.

I'm a new Angie's List member, but A Plumbing has been doing all my plumbing work since we moved to Columbus. They are responsive, call ahead to confirm the appointment and arrive on time. I always ask for Jim - he's great and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. They can be very pricey - but the service and workmanship is worth the cost.
