I had repairs completed earlier in the day by Andy OnCall, and the repairman had left my housekey on the countertop when he left. (Since I was moving in, I only had one key available, which I had shared with this person.) I left home about 9:00 p.m. for dinner and grocery shopping. When I returned home, I realized I had not picked up the key from the countertop. I called a friend to retrieve a phone number for a locksmith from online. This was the first listing showing. I called and was told someone would be there in 20-30 minutes. Thirty minutes later, a gentleman with a heavy accent called to say he was just leaving and would see me in 20-30 minutes. Forty-five minutes later, he called to say he was lost. When I tried to give him instructions, he talked over the top of me. When I finally interrupted him to explain something, he scolded me for not listening to what he was saying. He said he had put my address in his GPS but was not able to locate me so he didn't know what to do. He then began calling out street names. I am new to this neighborhood so I had no clue if he were near or far away. Finally, I suggested we meet at the nearest intersection close to the entrance of my condos. He agreed. When I told him the name of the intersection, he said he was three miles away. We came to find out later that he had only entered part of the address I gave him. When he arrived, he asked how many companies had turned me down before I reached theirs. I said that his company was the first one I had contacted. While the older gentleman was opening the door, his younger "assistant"--who did nothing--chided me for not having a spare key hidden somewhere outside. When it came time to pay (ten minutes later), he charged me $225. He wanted cash so he took my driver's license while I drove across the street to the bank to withdraw the funds. At the end of the night, he said humorously, "Don't be calling me again." I told him he had no worries about that.
