Dan Mikkelsen Plumbing

*Over the serveral months Dan and or his helper were on site they were slow and sloppy in the work they performed. *I spoke to Dan and the General Contrator about the quality of the work and both agreed that they would take care of any concerns I had. * The day prior to our move in date of our new home we had three water leaks in which water was was spraying from one leak and dripping almost running continuous from the other two leaks in the copper tubing in our basement. ***This again pushed out move in date back one week. *The night we moved into our home we had three gas leaks and were red tagged by Columbia Gas of Ohio at 10 PM January 21, 2011. *Over the next few weeks we had a total of thirteen water leaks and six gas leaks. *The plumbing was not square or plumb when it was installed and has an unprofessional appearance as if installed by a homeowner vs. a professional. *The wood studs that the copper tubing is installed on is burned in a number of places from the poor job during installation. *An electrician had to replace three electrical lines the were burned by the plumber during his soldiering of the copper. Dan's "apprentice" was usually incoherent when on the job site. I brought this to the attention of the general contractor and Dan the owner and toward the end of the entire job he was no longer on side. At our contractors insistance I tried to work directly with Dan on coming in to fix the problems and finish other work I had discussed with the contrator. Dan was responsive at first and told me that none of this was his direct fault and that he had never even bid out the job for the general contractor. Dan stated that he just got a call from the contractor who told him to come and do the job. Dan told me he was doing his best to fit "this" job into his schedule. I eventaully became frustrated with Dan because his personal issues and life took presidence over my home and at a cost to my family. After we moved into our house our contractor brought Dan back to fix the numerous plumbing issuse we were still experiencing i.e. water and gas leaks. I had already complained to the Columbiana County agency that oversees plumbing. They sent an inspector out then informed me that Mikkelson Plumbing had allowed its plumbing license/permit in Columbiana County to expire as of January 31, 2011. I told the general contractor that Dan was not allowed back on site not only for this issue but his unwillingness to put my job in priority status. I contracted another plumber to fix the problem at MY EXPENSE. To date I have not been reimbursed. I have not paid the general contractor since this was his plumber and I had discussed with him on a number of occasions the poor quality of workmanship and overall safty risks my family and I faced. My contractor is now suing me.
