NHD Construction & Design

The job went much better than expected. We started quoting companies on Angies List (3 companies) and recvd NHD as a recommendation last minute from a neighbor how knew someone who worked at NHD. Steve (the owner) was excellent from beginning to end in that he personally assisted in the layout of the cabinets (went to the designer/supplier), provided several great suggestions, visited the kitchen several times to ensure he understood our requirements (including bringing members of his crew, as well as electrician, etc) to ensure the job could be done as planned (and quoted). We experienced a few hiccups (as usual) and Steve was very proactive and called immediately when discovered (e.g. when tearing up the old tile we discovered it was laid on concrete - which was cracked and had to be removed). The job took about 2 weeks from start to finish (speaking with my neighbors I understand this is normally a 3-4 week process) and he called every day to update us on the status/progress. At the end of the project, they brought in a cleaning crew to clean up a lot of the "mess/dust" from the work - which was also a pleasant surprise to both of us. NHD really did an excellent job - not only with the quality of work but with the communication as well as the "little" things that really help shape your opinion of a company. If you do quote a construction project we would highly recommend you give them a call.
