It went well! Drain was cleared, basement drained.

The serviceman arrived on time, lighted pilot, gave me a bill for $80.75. They are a bit expensive, for that reason I might hesitate to use them again unless work could be done within a 1/2 hour time line because they charge by the hour not by what's done within the time frame. The serviceman was with me thirty minutes, but it took 30 seconds to light the pilot. I could not afford extensive work from them, and would choose projects for them carefully.

The plumber showed up on time, but then sat in the driveway. Someone finally went out to see what was going on and he said he had to fill out his Monday paperwork. It turned out this was all time being charged to me. He had to run to the store to get parts, even though we had purchased a faucett and asked him to install that one. Again this was all time that was being charged to me. He talked the last 20 minutes in order to round up the bill. $150 for three parts, which I priced at Home Depot for $58.

Not only that the plumber did not show up at 8:30 AM, but when we called at 9:00 AM to ask them what is going on, the receptionist told us that the plumber scheduled to do the job was sick for four days, and the lady that was keeping the appointment book was sick too. They did not have the courtesy and professionalism to call us ahead of time, and give us a chance to find somebody else, to finish the job as planned -since we took time off from work. Because of this, we loose a week and have to reschedule the Sears delivery, and, of course, take more time off from work. They offered to send somebody to do the job, 4 to 5 hours later than our initial appointment, but the Sears installation guys are on a schedule and can not hang around five or six hours. I understand that are unplanned circumstances, but when you know four days ahead that you are unable to provide the service and you are unable to make the appointment and on top of everything, you do not even call, that is unacceptable, unprofessional and shows total disrespect for the customers. I do not recommend Gil Ruehl Plumbing to anyone !

Sewage had backed up, and they had to search over a 400 foot line to find the blockage. They repaired what needed repaired and put in a couple of things to help prevent this from happening again. They were an excellent company to work with. They always returned phone calls and things. They also did a complete camera scan of our entire system and found a few more minor problems that they corrected.
