Description of Work: They came out to service my geo thermal heating system that was making an odd noise. The technician was thorough and efficient, required a second visit because a part had to be ordered but he was able to leave the furnace in a condition that we could use it until the part came in. The visit was late Friday afternoon, on Monday morning they called us to set up the installation appointment which was 4 days later. Great service.

Had a brand new furnace installed. The owner came out before I had to go to work, and have me estimates on the best system for my home. Beat the competition by nearly $1000. Had the system installed within a week of the estimate and constantly check back to make sure everything is still working properly.

We were recommended Bill Spade Electric for our furnace/air conditioning needs because they are close to home, and they specialize in Rheem products. On our scheduled day, we asked for a 30-minute call-ahead. We did receive a courtesy call from the office saying they were on their way. It ended up being an hour before they showed up, but that's not a big deal. The two gentlemen were arrived were very polite and courteous. They went right to work on the a/c tuneup. They explained what they were doing, and answered all of my questions. Also, they were careful not to track mud into our new house. The only negative I would have is with the scheduling process. I called a month in advance to schedule the service. They are unable to give even a window of time for the scheduled day. It would be helpful if they could give a time window, even if it was the day before. Then people wouldn't be forced to miss an entire day of work. Other than that, I was very happy with the service and will probably use them again.

Bill Spade HVAC and Electric installed an HVAC system in early 2011. The system frozen up less than 6 months after it was installed and they blamed a 2 week old filter saying that it was a dirty filter. The following year in July 2012, the system froze up again. On July 22nd I changed my filter to my AC unit. I change this filter every other week as because of what happened last summer, whichcaused about $1500 worth of damage last year. So this year I have been religious about changing the filter every other week and even checking it on a weekly basis to make sure its not too dirty. When I changed the filter on the 22nd of July, I also opened the door to the closet to make sure everything was in order, which it was. Sometime over the night the duct work fell off the system causing it to freeze up and leak to the floor below the unit and causing significant damage. Bill Spade took 3 days from when I called to get to my house and after checking the system and reattaching the duct work said they couldn't find anything else wrong. I asked what they would do about the damage and their response was that they can not be sure that I didn't do something to pull off the duct work (which is tucked away in a closet and I can barely reach it on my tip toes) or that the filter which I saved to show them wasn't dirty was really the one that I pulled out before the system even froze. From every professional in the General Contracting field and HVAC field they have said that duct work should not fall in 18 months after being installed let alone the line time of the system. I believe they did not properly install this duct work and are responsible for the damage.
Description of Work: HVAC system frozen twice within 18 months of installation. The first time, they did nothing and claimed a 2 week old filter was the cause caused the system to freeze up. This year duct work fell off and they simply reattached it, but refused to take responsibility for the rest of the damage. Please note the $13,000 was for a complete rebuild of two HVAC units within the house.

I feel like this price is way to high to replace a compressor in a heat pump. They told me they gave me the price over the phone which they did not. The compressor is still under warranty.

Was required to use these guys by the home warranty company. Rude, tried to overcharge. When I refused to pay, they threatened to disable the AC. Did a poor job overall, required a return visit to get it right. Avoid.

Home warranty required to use this person. They found dirty filter and said there was an over charge of Freon, so they charged me $150 to remove the freon safetly. After they left, there was no change;I still had the problem, so I ended up calling my normal person and paid them more money to find the right problem. A valve was clogged.
Description of Work: Air condition would run, but house would not cool downk. Would take three hours to go down one degree.

Took a barrage of phone calls to ensure that Bill Spade ordered and received compressor from the home warranty company. I believe Bill Spade and the warranty company were equally responsible for delays. Finally, technician arrived and spent the whole day trying to install the compressor. He was unsuccessful and didn't seem to have the right skills. Another technician was sent out to install the compressor about ten days later. From the time it was first discovered until replacement, it took six weeks and I don't need the A/C any longer and it looks beat up. I can't say whether it's been fixed. They charged me $120 for EPA refrigerant fees. After the lousy service, I don't think I should have been charged.

Technician late for appointment. Replaced opener but refused to haul away old unit. Severely overcharged for new replacement keyless remote. Did not receive an owner's manual with the new unit. Only received one remote opener (for a 2-car garage).

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE AND TECHNICIANS WERE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL, BUT THE OWNER HIMSELF WAS PRACTICALLY BELLIGERENT. HIS ATTITUDE SEEMED TO BE THAT WE HAD NO BUSINESS ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY HE THOUGHT WE NEEDED A REPAIR, AND HE NEVER GAVE US A CLEAR ANSWER. I CAN'T RECOMMEND A COMPANY WHEN THE GUY WITH HIS NAME ON THE DOOR DOESN'T TAKE MORE INTEREST IN BEING HELPFUL. THEY ALSO HAVE A TERRIBLE SCHEDULING SYSTEM, THEY CALL YOU BETWEEN 8-8:30 AM IF YOU'RE THE FIRST CALL. OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY'RE GOING TO ARRIVE, AND THEN YOU'RE TOLD "MORNING OR AFTERNOON". THEY THEN CALL WHEN THEY'RE ON THE WAY, WHICH IS A PROBLEM IF YOU'RE NOT IN THE HOUSE.
