About us

At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.

Description of Work: A person came to our house at our request to present the windows to us but it was a typical high pressure presentation (very uncomfortable) which we declined. However we did like the windows and called back for clarification. We spoke to several people and ended by dealing with Mr Chris Kost who offered ways of making payments and clarified exactly how the work would proceed. We had all windows in our house (24) replaced. Measurements were done by Mark. The couple (Rachel and Jim) who installed the windows completed installation in two days. We were impressed both with their speed, accuracy, and clear explanations on use and care of the windows. They were efficient in their movements in the house and in keeping dust and debris cleaned up as they proceeded.The cleanup was especially important because of lead paint on old windows and my allergies, asthma and lung disease. My main concern had been moving around the house in an efficient way because of pets and many decorative items in our home. This concern was totally unfounded because of their professionalism. One bay window was especially large and heavy and the glass had to be broken to be taken away. No glass or other debris remained at the end of the day. One large window we asked to be made into two separate windows and this was accomplished beautifully. It has been just over a year and we are very happy with the performance of the windows and the installation. No leaks, no humidity build up. Our house is no longer drafty in winter and our heating and air conditioning is less costly. One of the windows on the front of the house came without the decorative divisions which we wanted to match across the front of the house. We noted it on the first day, called Mr Kost, the correct window arrived within 10 days, and was easily replaced. We could not be happier with the whole procedure. I really like the locks that can be activated when the windows are partially open to prevent children falling out and the ease of opening, closing and tilt to clean. Really it was well worth the wait to afford this work and we are so pleased.

Description of Work: I saw a sign in my area so I made an appt. to have an estimate. I did not feel comfortable with their tactics right away, such as requiring me to have a spouse or other person with me during the estimate (I assume so they could pressure me into buying on the spot). After I called back to cancel my appt. they must've called me another 20 times trying to get me to reschedule which was ridiculously annoying. I found it to be very unprofessional to hound a potential customer the way they did, and I finally had to tell them to never call me again.
