Description of Work: I have known John Volpe for a long time. He came promptly to meet with me about building bookshelves. He had great ideas. I never received a quote from him to do the work, despite several phone calls to request one.

Description of Work: CALLED THEN ON 10/14 AND ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT A JOB INSTALLING CROWN MOLDING IN MY DINING ROOM. THEY QUOTED ME OVER THE PHONE, AND I GAVE THEM THE JOB ON THE SPOT. THEY TOLD ME THE JOB WOULD TAKE ONE DAY, BUT THEY COULDN''T DO IT UNTIL ONE DAY FROM 10/24 TO 10/29. I SAID THAT WAS OK BUT I DIDN''T WANT TO GO INTO NOVEMBER. THEY SAID NO PROBLEM. THEY MAILED A WRITTEN ESTIMATE WHICH I RECEIVED ON 10/18. I SIGNED IT AND FAXED IT BACK THE SAME DAY, AND ASKED THEM ON THE COVER LETTER IF THEY HAD FIRMED UP A DATE FOR ME. I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THEM, AND SINCE TODAY IS THE 28TH AND THEY HAVEN''T BEEN TO MY HOUSE TO REVIEW THE JOB BEFORE DOING IT (LIKE JOHN VOLPE SAID THEY WOULD DO), THEY HAVE BROKEN THEIR PROMISE OF FINISHING THE JOB WHEN THEY SAID. AS IS TYPICAL OF MOST CONTRACTORS, EVEN ANGIE''S LIST RATED ONES, THEY DIDN''T BOTHER TO CALL WHEN THEY KNEW THEY WERE RUNNING LATE - THEY JUST BLEW OFF THE JOB.
