The company was very understanding when I had to reschedule. They gave me an estimated delivery time of 9:00-11:00. They arrived at 9:30! Excellent service and the soil worked great! I ended up with more than I needed and my neighbor took the rest! He was thrilled!

I personally had little involvement with the company, as my uncle helped me with the work and dealt with the company. However, the materials were great and the deliveries were on time.

I had taken advantage of a Deal from Three-Z-Inc. in 2012 but due to unforeseeable circumstances I was unable to take delivery of the mulch last year. I spoke with them in person and explained the situation for my delay and they were very understanding. I questioned as to wether the mulch would be able to be delivered in 2013 and they said sure. I contacted them this year, we scheduled the date and the product was delivered proptly. Thank You Three-Z-Inc.

Do NOT order from THREE Z's if you want your dirt somewhere other than Tree Lawn and sidewalk (city would love to see all the dirt on the sidewalks). Then I had to contact Soils on Line to get my Credit Card payment back...and they do NOT have a phone number...Only E-mail address. Why would a Company waste my time filling out a Delivery form on where I want the dirt to be dumped in my yard ...IF their policy is that their truck wheels do NOT touch any part of your property and that the trucks have to KEEP their wheels on the street and dump from there....What ??????..Since When?????? ....Insane...Fix Your Site.
Description of Work: I ordered topsoil from Three Z's website. It asked where I wanted the dirt...Front of house...side of house...back of house... They also have a waiver on the bottom that says they are not responsible for any damage when truck comes onto property. I checked the box. Then 30 minutes later I get a phone call. They cannot deliver the dirt because they ONLY dump dirt on tree lawns and sidewalks. They claim trucks do not cross sidewalks !!!! Since when did this happen?????? Trucks do NOT dump dirt in your yard anymore....then why do they ask on the delivery form where in your yard you want it and why do they say they CAN come on your property in the waiver form Then the lady on the phone was the WORST Customer Service person I have ever talked to....of course I was upset.....I was just told a blatent lie that they do not deliver into yards anymore even thou their web site says thry do...Why Lie ??? or Fix Your Web Site!!!

We are sorry for any confusion about the dumping location. We average 85 deliveries per day 6 days a week. We do our best to try and satisfy any request. It is hard to explain everything on the web site to let the customer know each and every situation. As everyone knows, the spring of 2011 has been extremely wet. In fact it has rained 45 out of the last 52 days. Had the member called personally on the phone our sales staff would have explained the delivery options they had. Our trucks weigh 14,000 to 16,000 lbs. empty. Each yard of topsoil weighs 2200lbs. To have a truck enter the property weighing over 10 TONS is not advised but trying to back over grass would have caused major ruts in the grass and the truck getting stuck and needing a tow to get out. Most if not all of the soil would have been used to repair the damage and we would have had a dissatisfied customer. When our customer was called to explain our dumping situation and an alternate dumping locations before delivery, the customer asked us to bring plywood to drive on so we could dump in the front yard because the yard was soggy. We informed her that we do not have plywood because it just breaks apart and does not work. We also gave other options for dumping such as dumping ½ way up the drive off to one side or on the tree lawn. We also explained that if the truck were to drive over the sidewalk the weight of the truck would crush the sidewalk and she would be responsible for repairs. So instead of listening to our 35 years of experience, she canceled the order, received a full refund, and wrote a bad report. We can only hope that another company did not try to deliver material and cause damage to her property. Again we apologize for any confusion.

When I started spreading the topsoil after the delivery I found large stones. Also, it dried out and became ashy. They quality of the product was very, very poor. I was so upset with the topsoil I sent a sample to the University of Massachusetts for soil testing. They informed me the chemical analysis indicated that the soil probably came from the bottom of a pond. I called Three-Z-Inc with the results, and they agreed to reimburse me half of the cost. Nothing in the yard grew; not even weeds.

We have been in business for over 34 years and have delivered 1000’s of yards of Topsoil. We do not manufacture the soil. We simply pick it up from construction sites and bring it back to our yard. We then mix in leaf humus, sand, and compost to the soil. It is then shredded and screened through a ¾” screen into a finish product. It is important to know that according to the Ohio State Extension Service, topsoil should not be screened with any smaller screen than a ¾” in order to keep the soil from becoming too hard and allowing for water and nutrients to get to the roots. Because of that, some rocks do get through. Also, the topsoil the people buy in bags is not natural soil but a mixture of sand, compost, and pine bark. That is why it is black in color however; it does not get hard allowing you to fill in low spots in your yard. Our soil has compost in it and as it dries, it does appear to have an ashy look. The member attempted to grow grass into our topsoil at the end of July and early August. This is the worst time of year to attempt to grow anything. If the new seedlings are not kept moist, but not over watered, they will bake in the hot sun and die. She did not use any straw or starter fertilizer. We explained the correct procedure when planting a lawn, however the member wanted us to come out and replant her lawn even though we did not do it in the first place. We issued a credit of 50% which basically gave her the topsoil for free and she had to pay for delivery and taxes. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Very professional service - both the woman I spoke to on the phone as well as the delivery man. She was knowledgeable and helpful in advising me which kind of mulch to get. They also have a very helpful website, though wish they would have photos of the various mulches rather than just descriptions. They were able to deliver the mulch the next working day, whereas others that I spoke to said it would be a couple of weeks. They arrived when they said they would and the quality of mulch seems to be good. I'd definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Delivered 3 yards of black mulch. I also inquired about the possibility of them spreading it for me and said they don't do that service, they only deliver the product.

The phone staff and driver were very professional and nice, will definitely use and recommend this company in the future. The mulch is very good, btw.

I FIRST CONTACTED THREE-Z-INC THROUGH E-MAIL LINK PROVIDED THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST. I TOLD THEM MY NEEDS AND GOT A SAME DAY RESPONSE WITH ESTIMATE AND A REQUEST TO CALL TO WORK OUT DETAILS. WE SET UP A DAY AND TIME AND THEY ACTUALLY ARRIVED A COUPLE MINUTES EARLY. THE GRAVEL WAS SPREAD, I HAD TO MOVE SOME OF IT AROUND, AS I WAS TOLD I WOULD. THE BILL WAS THE SAME AS ORIGINAL ESTIMATE.
