 + -1 moreI didn't request emergency service; the company was able to send Mike first thing in the morning after I called. They called shortly before he arrived, and he arrived on time. He did a good job in clearing the drain. He wore booties to protect the floors and used a drop cloth to protect the area in and around the tub.
Description of Work: The plumber snaked the drain from a second-floor bathtub and put everything back in place.

They are always dependable. I got their name form Angie's List and I've used them ever since. The employees are always in good humor. They explained how the leak happened.
Description of Work: They fixed a leak on 12/19. I was going out of town the next day and I found water in the kitchen that was leaking through the ceiling light from the upstairs.

 + -1 moreHe came out and tested my water and said he needed to go back to the office and he would call me before he came back. He was here when he said he would be here and was professional and kind. He gave me two estimates because the permanent fix was expensive. We decided to go with the permanent fix and he honored the Angie's List discount. It wasn't an easy job, but they saw the work through. They explained how to use everything and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. They were in cramped conditions but they worked very hard to install everything well. They really did a superior job and I can't rate them highly enough. I would definitely call them again and would recommend them to anyone.

 + -1 moreThis wasn't what I was looking forward to for Christmas, but it beats a cold shower. Check 'em out! They always do it right the first time, and use the best, most rugged equipment. Keep up the good work!
Description of Work: Installed a new direct vent gas hot water heater. We had a 40 gallon tank and they had a 50 gallon. Because a 40 gallon would have been a special order, the bigger one actually cost less.

Description of Work: I did not have hot water so I had to have the plumber make an emergency trip to fix the problem. He came within an hour and did a thorough job by taking the water burner assembly out and cleaning it rather than just lighting the pilot. This is so that I wouldn't have to make another emergency call. The price may seem high, but that was because he had to come out on Sunday and he did a little extra work.

They called about 15 minutes before they arrived, which was right at the start of the window. They were professional and extremely polite. They explained my options and the costs before starting any work. They also took the time to explain what they were doing while they were doing it. They even asked if I was an Angie's List member and directed me to their coupon. I would definitely hire this company again.

 + -1 moreI felt the company was prompt and efficient. They did what they could, explained what should be done and the best time to do that work, and didn't do anything that wasn't necessary. For the time that they took, I felt the charges were fair.
Description of Work: New gutters and downspouts were installed on the home, but not connected due to blockage in the crocks. I called The Plumbing Source to clean out the storm drains around the home and check for a possible problem in the basement drain. The techs were very prompt and efficient. They did what they could, took the time to explain how the drains lined up in the yard, and explained how far they could clear and that the older style drain tiles were more than likely broken. Since this was an inherited home that had been in my family for 45 years, the information they gave lined up with what I knew of the home, and I felt they were quite accurate in their assessment. They explained the way to repair it correctly, but since it was already November gave me some ideas to get through the winter until repairs could be done in the spring. They also explained the basement drain problem, and did not need to snake that out.

 + 1 moreTwo plumbers completed the work. They shared the same small space as three electricians and completed the job. They were respectful and careful with our home inside and outside. I only had one issue and that was getting return phone calls from the manager who did the estimate. While he was professional, respectful, and accommodating, it was difficult to get a hold of him. (I understand that they are temporarily down a person or two).
Description of Work: They installed a 1" steel pipe that supplies gas to our new standby electric generator.

 + 0 moreBoth Patrick and Michael worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. They are gracious in explaining the work that they have done and the work that remains to be done. They did not charge for the toilet repair as they were not happy that it was not working perfectly.
Description of Work: Mike removed a broken garbage disposal and installed a new one. He also repaired the plumbing underneath the sink. While he was working on the disposal, brother Patrick replaced a faucet in the bathroom, fixed a leak underneath the sink, and tried to stop the upstairs toilet from running. It was determined that there is a crack in the porcelain. Still, it is better than it was before they came!

 + -1 moreOverall, very satisfied with Plumbing Source. This is the 3rd time I have had them over in 2006/2007. First time was to fix a toilet in small bathroom. Second time was to repair toilet in front bathroom. I have never sent in a report (that I can recall) and decided it was time. Mike did a very good job in replacing the drain; he was courteous and also took the old drain with him; no mess left behind. Also, the woman scheduler called and let me know he would be here a little later than planned. As long as it was in the PM, I did not care, but was glad to know the approximate time.
Description of Work: Called Plumbing Source Thursday; requested service for Friday, 11/16/07, after 12 noon. Mike Lenahan arrived here about 3PM to respond to call about a leaking kitchen sink drain. He dismantled the old drain, which turned out to have a hole in it, along with the whole drain being old and corroded. He put in a new drain - old one too corroded to fix.

They stayed VERY close to the original estimate even with many issues that came up (not their problem) with our house/yard. When we replace our sink in the kitchen and redo the master bath we will use this company again.
Description of Work: First call - drain issues/sounds and backing up in the driveway They removed roots from the main sewer. Next day, same problem - came back out - looked at sewer line with a camera, we needed a new sewer line -on a house we had owned less than a month :( The next Friday - replaced main sewer line.

 + -1 moreIt went very well, and faster than I thought it would. They really knew what they were doing, and answered all my questions. I was able to quickly get my tenant's gas back on.
Description of Work: The Plumbing Source repaired our natural gas service line, which was leaking. Dominion had shut off the tenant's gas. Jimmy from The Plumbing Source gave me an estimate over the phone at 9:30 am and was able to be out here with a crew at 1:30 pm. The work was completed within 2-3 hours. The front treelawn was dug up -- a 4' x 4' x 4' deep hole, to expose the connection to the main. The gas line was re-sleeved and the old gas meter inside the basement was removed. Then the new line was pressurized at 90 psi. Dominion's subcontractor showed up the next day to install a new meter and reconnect the gas line, plus fill in the hole on the treelawn.

 + -1 moreSent an email on Sunday afternoon to request service for a well pump that was continuously running and water was collecting on the ground outside our home. We quickly received a phone call to set up an appointment for the next day. They were willing to come at 8am, so that we wouldn't need to be late for work. They arrived on time and ready to work. About 2 hours into the job, we had to leave for work. We felt no hesitation leaving them to finish the job unsupervised. They called me at work when the job was completed. When we got home from work that evening we were very impressed with the clean up that they did--you can hardly tell that a hole was dug in the front yard! Eric and Tim were professional and we are very satisfied with the work that was done.
Description of Work: Upon assessment of the situation, they decided they needed to dig a hole to get to the pump to figure out what was causing it to run. The 2 men quickly hand dug a 5 foot deep hole near the well. They identified a crack in the pipe. They replaced the pipe connection and refilled the hole.

Description of Work: We returned from vacation to find our water heater would not light. We called the Plumbing Source at 9am the next morning. They had a new heater and the installer at our home at 1pm. By 3 they had completed installing the new heater in the same place as the old- hooking up in and out water lines and the gas line.

 + -1 moreA two man team arrived exactly on time, assessed the problem, laid down painter's cloth to protect the floor and got to work. They explained what they were going to do, and explained what they found after doing the work. They were very neat and used protective shoe covers when they entered the house (took them off when they exited). They cleaned up carefully after the job was finished and were gone after an hour. Both members of the team were very professional.
Description of Work: I had a blockage in the drain from my bathroom to the main sewer line. I had tried a 15' and 25' snake without success.
