The man who did the job was friendly and personable, explaining what he was doing, the rationale and gave me other suggestions to improve the functioning of the heater. He was on time, concientious and did the work within the time alloted. I highly recommend The House Doctors.
Description of Work: The ductwork for the heating and airconditioning was never quite finished--it needed to have the seams and leaks taped with foil tape by someone who knows what they were doing as well as fix places where the duct work had dropped down.

Description of Work: Mark repaired a hole in the drywall in the ceiling. He filled it with drywall and he mud and taped it. He also repaired other holes in the walls around the house.

 + 1 moreEverything went much more quickly that I had expected, but with high quality. The solution to the bay window sill problem was so simple and elegant that I'm surprised that no one had thought of it before (and others have tried).
Description of Work: Replaced back door, rehung screen door, planed lavatory door so that it closed, repaired outer sill around bay window so that water drained away from the house. All the problems were, I think, the effects of Super Storm Sandy. Will replacce damaged front storm door when the back-ordered door comes in.

At times I have asked for a repair and they were honest in telling me that something needs to be done differently, or the repair might not last. Their gutter work and interior leak repair was top notch. Bob and the House Doctors are good people and I never hesitate to call them.

 + 0 moreI was hesitant about calling this company because the reviews on Angies List were either A's for workmanship or F's for responsiveness. But I saw that they did a lot of different things and I was searching for one company that I would be able to call as I began my remodel and repairs. I called this company on Tuesday at 9am and left a message on his voice mail. I heard nothing from them. I called again on Wednesday and left two additional phone numbers where I would be able to be reached. I returned home from work on Wednesday and recieved a message that he had returned my call and left me his cell phone number. I called that number and got his voice mail and left another message for him. I returned home from work on Thursday to a message from him on my answering machine once again telling me to call his cell phone. I called his cell again and again l didn't get an answer. I did leave still another message. I never heard from him again. Since I had to have a working toilet I had to call someone else. (They came out the same day) Unfortunately I have concluded that Mr. Vecchio was either way too busy or simply thought a clogged toilet wasn't worth his time.
Description of Work: I had a clogged toilet at one of my properties.

They came out and they were professional and on time. They knew exactly what I wanted. They were very very nice. I was extremely pleased. They were very courteous and very polite. i would highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreThey returned calls quickly and showed up on time. They were pleasant and efficient. The gutter cleaning went very well and I would use them again for this. They were also pleasant and efficient for moving the stuff in and out of my basement. They were careful with my stuff and nothing got broken. I do feel I spent a little more on this service than I should have, but it was my fault as much as theirs as I wasn't as organized about the moves as I should have been.
Description of Work: I hired them to clean out the gutters on my house. I also hired them to help move everything out of my basement so a new floor could be poured.

Performed all work, stated kitchen could not be repaired and left. Actually returned at no extra charge because my wife did not know I had purchased an extra fan in case could not be repaired. Excellent customer service, performed service, and value. Would use again for any service.
Description of Work: Removed and installed a new light fixture in dining room. Installed Ceiling fans in 2 bedrooms. Tried to repair but could not, so installed a new ceiling fan in kitchen. I supplied all fans. (Please do not infer they brought extra)

I received an immediate response from Mike who gave me an estimate over the phone and a time-frame for the completion of the work. I was not at the location where the work was needed so I was a little unclear as to when the work was done. However, when I called to check on the job's status, I immediately received a callback from both Bob and his son stating the drain was now clear. I think the price they charged is very fair and I will not hesitate to use their services again.
Description of Work: The driveway drain was cleaned/snaked out and cleared.

 + 0 moreOverall I would say everything went well. Especially with the effects we had during Hurricane Sandy with the terrible wind and rain for about a week. Not a single drop of water in the area that had been a problem with much less rain. That alone is strong testimony to a quality job.
Description of Work: A section of roofing was leaking between an addition that had been added several years previously and the original house. Chronic problem for a couple of years. Not always but when particularly hard rain would come. A gentleman who was to be part of crew doing the work came out to inspect problem and give a general idea what was needed to resolve. His name was Pete. Liked him thought was thorough and professional. I received a written estimate. I felt as though it did not fully reflect the conversation I had with Pete and phone conversation with Bob the owner of the company. After further discussion with Bob he sent Pete back to go over the invoice with me and Pete assured me that the work would be completed as first described and he would be onsite while the work was happening. The invoice was sent back to Bob, some revisions were made but still didn't exactly reflect conversations. As it turns out, Pete looks at the job, spoke with Bob the owner but written estimates prepared by the owners son. Mildly problematic. I went forward with the work based on meeting Pete. On the day that work took place Pete and another gentleman came out to do the work which included putting ice block under the existing siding, pulling up a section of shingles along the entire roofline where the leak was taking place, pulling down a gutter that had been improperly installed and reforming a new endcap on the gutter. Upon pulling up the shingles there was a section of roof plywood that was rotten so that was replaced. They did a great job with the installation of everything. Cleaned up after themselves nicely. I had been hoping for further assessment in regards to possible mold or wood damage where the house and addition came together but Pete explained that it would have to be done from inside the house with removal of a section of drywall. Reasonable enough. The first estimate was for 1495.00 with the understanding that additional work would incur addtional cost. The additional work for the rotted plywood and gutter work was 200.00. It seemed to be a fair but I wouldn't describe it as an excellent price.

Description of Work: Rod finished his previous job , called us to ask if he could come over early . When he arrived we went right to the basement. He noticed the circuit breaked was tripped. Two flourescent lights were burned out, and a loose wiring connection was located .I was very happy with Rod and the companys response.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman who came out to paint my garage door (2 1/2 car) did a horrible job. Not only did the was the job sloppy, I could not open the door after the paint dried. When I finally was able to pry the door open, the paint cracked and peeled, Obviously I had to have the door repainted. I was so disgusted that I didn't either bother to call back! $79 dollars plus a $5 tip down the drain! BEWARE! Do not use this service for painting!!!

He said that most people already have the supplies for a job ready for him and we paid him extra to go pick up the supplies. When dealing with the company, on office-level, they were very helpful and pleasant. The work he did was good once he got here.

 + 5 moreCouldn't have asked for a better experience! Bob, the owner called me right away after contacting them. He sent out a member of the crew to provide an estimate and called me to explain the estimate. Once I approved the work, Bob called me to schedule and the work was completed efficiently and professionally. The price was fair and the work was done quite well. It is very difficult to find a company that will complete point of sale repairs. Most of the companies I called either failed to call back or didn't show up for the estimates. I will most certainly us House Doctors in the future and will recommend the company to friends or family.
Description of Work: House Doctors completed a point of sale repair list from the city of Cleveland Heights. The list included light electrical repair and updates, chimney caps, roof repair, gutter repair and cleaning and installing an exhaust fan from the bathroom that vented out from the roof.

I appreciated how they worked with me to see what the problem was. We found out that there were birds that had gotten into my house. The owner figured the bird was nesting inside and he was right on the money. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I have used The House Doctors for several projects. They most recently came to install 2 new facial boards and re-install the facial wrap. I also had them remove all of my soffits.
