The House Doctors

While this was going on we had heavy winter weather that brought down outdoor wiring and froze up my back porch so I couldn't open the back door. Bob had the electrician fix the wiring, and install a special heating mat that melted the snow blocking the door so that I could get out. I am happy with the work that they do, and pleased with the nice people that do the work, especially the pleasant and helpful Bob Vecchio.

The response was a little slow. I do realize it's a busy season, but it would be nice to know when they were going to come.

They are great guys who take pride in their work. They cleaned all the gutters and helped out with a few other items that needed to be fixed around the house. They are respectful and responsive guys who take good care of their customers.

Bob Vecchio returned my call the same day, and we scheduled an appointment for Rod to come over. Rod arrived about 15 minutes early and finished the entire job in about 45 minutes. Both Bob V. & Rod were very friendly and nice to talk to.

Bob returned my initial call promptly, and was helpful and professional on the phone. The pipes through a crawl space leading to my kitchen had frozen during the cold snap this winter, and I called for help getting them unfrozen. It turned out that The House Doctors also do many of the other things I need done around the house, so I was looking forward to developing a professional relationship. I told Bob about the extensive list of other tasks in addition to the immediate emergency. I was not able to meet him at the house that day, and he took down both of my phone numbers and knew when he could reach me at each, and promised to call back to arrange a time. He never called. Luckily for me, the pipes melted on their own after I turned the heat way up in the house, but as far as Bob knew, I still had an emergency plumbing situation and he left me hanging. In addition he threw away a considerable amount of potential additional business. I was quite surprised and not impressed!

The process was very efficient. Bob Vecchio called me back when I left a message about an estimate and they performed the work quickly.

The House Doctors built a screened-in porch over part of our existing deck. Bob and his carpenters talked with us and helped us define and refine our vision; and the finished porch is better than we ever imagined! The expert carpenters sped through the job. Bob had our total satisfaction as his highest priority, and we are thrilled with our new living space!

We went from drab to fab when the House Doctors painted our house. The painters were great, fast and neat; and Bob checked daily to make sure we were happy with the job. Our sad, gray eyesore is now the cheeriest house on the block!

Bob responded quickly when it started raining in our kitchen! His crew worked fast to find the source of the bathroom leak. We know we can count on the House Doctors!

He came right away. It was excellent work.

Originally expected work to take about a week, but unexpected surprises and commitments to other customers made it take almost three weeks.

I called Bob and he arranged to have someone meet me at the house the next day for an estimate. The work took several days, due to the number of violations. I left a key with one of the workers, who met me after the work was complete to show me the repairs. They were very prompt and professional.

I left Bob a message, he called me with in 24 hours. He did the estimate and gave me a date. Because of the weather the date had to be changed. He called me right away to let me know the situation and gave a reschedule date. The workers came out did a great job, cleaned up, and I was invoiced with no surprises.

The House Doctors sent a plumber Robert who did a great job. We have made a laundry room off a bathroom in our house, and when the tub drains, it backs up into the bathroom sink. Over time, the amount of back up increases so that we need to have it snaked. Robert was able to snake it out so well that it doesn't back up at all anymore (this has never happened before). Robert also unclogged a basement sink without charging me. I am very happy with the work.

Overall, very good work. Initial contact was prompt, estimate within a couple of days. Actual work itself was excellent. Absolutely no sign of original damage. However, I do feel the price was a little high for the work done.

They arrived at the time agreed to. They worked steadily until the job was done. They cleaned up appropriately. Overall the job went well.

They cleaned the gutters and the porches and removed all the debris.

The House Doctors are the most responsive and understanding contractors I have ever dealt with, and the job's end result was good. However, their estimate was higher than that estimated by the insurance company, and the insurance company's estimate covered work that was never completed by the contractor (new wainscoting vs. reusing old, painting walls and ceiling, sanding and re staining floors). The estimate/final outline also did not itemize the work done (labor cost/hour, hours spent, materials), making it impossible to substantiate what turned into an expensive job for drywall and the installation of 4 downspouts. In the end, Bob, Mike and their crew were great to deal with, but expensive.

We were very pleased with our experience with House Doctors. Bob Vechhio gave us an accurate detailed estimate. He kept us informed of when he could get us scheduled. The workers were prompt when scheduled, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. Although it took awhile to get scheduled (mostly due to weather), they completed all inside and outside work within a few days. We will definitely call them in the future!

The repairman came out on time and was very pleasant. Explained what he would need to do and was very patient in explaining why a certain hand snake wasn't working and that he needed auger. Noted tree roots in this drain, I asked him to check the two other spots where drainage was slow. Readily agreed to do and took another 2 hours to repair. He also had to go to west side of town and get a bigger auger and was very willing to come back at 10 pm that night to finish the job (I had another commitment and had to leave for a few hours) for another two hours so I would have all problems resolved by the time for Thanksgiving preparations. Good job of cleaning up his work areas and suggesting tips for maintaining good drains.

Bob Vecchio and his excellent plumber Robert Armstrong knocked themselves out to finish the kitchen two days before Xmas. Robert worked very late that last night to make sure I had a working kitchen before my guests arrived. Work of the highest quality, extremely conscientious, a pleasure to have in your home.(Last minute rush due to delay in granite installation). Bob Vecchio saved me a good bit of money in the process. Plan to throw all future remodeling jobs their way. This company gets the highest rating possible. Look no further.

Very nice job. Looks great. It took longer than anticipated to complete the job, however, which was a little frustrating. Apparently, a crew member had taken ill at the time which caused a backlog of work.

I have had our gutters cleaned by 2 other companies, and The House Doctors have done the best job. They were thorough and finished the job in a couple of hours. All the debris was picked up. I am very happy with the work they did. Bob got back to me the day I left the message requesting them cleaned. I was put on the list. The good thing was all the leaves had fallen off by the time it was my turn. I did make one more phone call a few weeks after the initial phone call to make sure they hadn't forgotten me, and Bob reassured me he hadn't.

Michael was a pleasure to work with. He responded to my calls quickly, told us what our choices were to repair the damage, completed the work in a timely fashion, and then followed up with a phone call to make sure we were pleased. We were very happy with the work performed. We have used The House Doctors before and would again.

Michael was able to come out and repair the hole and texture it to match within a few days of our initial call. We appreciated the quick turnaround, and it looks good. In addition, we always appreciate it when contractors remove their shoes at the front door without being asked, which Michael and the other gentleman did. Little things like this go a long way with us. We would hire again.
