The House Doctors

As always when I deal with the House Doctors, I called and within days the job was taken care of neatly, efficiently and kindly.

The guys came in the morning and were done by the evening. Did a great job, really freshened up the rooms.

Great, the electrician (Rod) was very courteous and explained what he was doing. He worked very quickly and thoroughly and cleaned up. He was on time both for the estimate and the work and easy to reach for call-backs.

I left a message at 11 am, Bob called me back around 1 pm and by 6:30 pm the work had been completed.

Went well. The company negotiated the price with my insurance company so that I only was responsible for the deductible. There were a few problems with the plumb line bleeding through the ceiling. Mike returned twice to fix this and it turned out well. He returned my calls right away and made arrangements to fix the problems.

I found this company from Angie's list and it seemed to fit my needs. Mr. Vecchio returned my call in a timely manner and a scheduled appointment was made with one of his workers shortly thereafter. The worker, Richard, appeared at my home smiling, clean and neatly dressed. He answered all my questions and left not a speck of mess, and best of all, an unclogged drain. The $95 I paid, I believe, matched the work done, unlike in the past when I had this drain unclogged (same amount of work) by two different companies from which I was charged $150-$350!

Terrific. Cleaned and flushed the gutters. Identified a problem spot and, after explaining what needed to be done and how much it would cost, they returned and took care of it.

We sought out the House Doctors. They submitted a bid, but, despite telling us they would give us references and multiple phone calls, we never received any references or anyplace to go to see recent work. I finally got tired of making unanswered phone calls, gave up and went with another contractor.

I emailed Bob for an estimate and got 3 other estimates. He consistently is the most responsive. He gave me an estimate, I left the country for a month, and contacted him to get the work done. Within a week the process was going. His workmen are consistent, pleasant and competent. A pleasure to work with.

Workman came as planned, evaluated the scope of the job, we negotiated his return after completing another job, and he did as we agreed. He was great about being exact with his work.

We were given two estimates: one to construct a new bath and another to remodel an existing bath. The construction of the full bath went well. The staff person handling it was professional and easy to work with. Per the person we were working with, we bought medicine chests and ordered lighting for the remodel and were told he would get back to us with revised estimate (we decided to use a standard size tub). We assumed the new estimate would be lower. We then received a call from a different person about doing the second job. He had poor phone skills but he came (very late) to look at the job. A couple weeks later we were very surprised to get a phone call from the owner's son with an estimate that was nearly $5,000 more than the original. And this estimate didn't include the price of the tub, faucets, tile, and lighting which the original estimate did. We were not willing to pay the extra money.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK. THEY CAME WHEN PROMISED AND WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM FOR OTHER JOBS.

Quick, aggressive return of my phone message. Was ready to come do the job almost immediately and seemed to run right past request for an estimate. When I asked how much the job would cost, he said he would be surprised if it exceeded $100, including installing, mortaring vent piece. Another gentleman arrived on time to do the job and was surprised to see the foundation was brick and not cinder block (I'm certain I said brick on the phone, not block). He pondered it, then said the job was now a bigger issue and that he didn't like it because he might hit ribar. After an hour of drilling and chiseling from inside and out, it was done. However the vent piece he brought was too short (he had assumed the foundation was only one cinder block deep), so he did not install it and took it with him when he left. I bought a vent and extension and installed and mortared it myself. The gentleman was nice, knowledgeable and consulted on a plumbing issue for me. I later received a bill for $185.

There prices are great, they are very knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anybody. I had them look at something else and they were very honest with me about what needed to be done. They turned down the work because they did not think it was needed.

They came quickly, came in and saw what I wanted and they summed it up. The next day they came in with the carpentry work already done and painted and ready for installation. They were fast, efficient and clean.

Very well. They were very prompt with coming out to see the damage and providing an estimate. They also viewed all other gutters to see if any other replacements were needed. The work was done within the time estimate they had provided me and within the cost they had estimated the job. I was very pleased with the work they had provided and would use them again.

Called for estimate. Received estimate and work was performed in less than a week. All debris was removed and landscaping was not damaged with work from above (as was the case with other gutter cleaners). I was very pleased with the quality of their work, their timeliness and their professionalism. I will definitely use them again.

They came out the same day that I called, at the time promised. The worker evaluated that old pipes needed replaced from kitchen sink, went to buy PVC piping, then returned and replaced in a timely manner. He then snaked out the bathroom sink and completed everything within about 2 hours.

They did a great job for me. They came out and took care of the drain, had excellent prices, and I will definitely call them again when I need work done.

Took about 1 1/2 hours. Sink runs a little faster now.

This was great from start to finish. Came out same day of initial call to give estimate. Work started when promised and finished promptly. Owners on job or periodic checkin. These guys are wizards-they did everything we asked and some add ons, and did it extremely well. Nice to have around, like working with your own family......except they clean up after themselves. Would definitely use again.

I called Bob for a quote and scheduled a time for them to come out over the phone. He indicated they'd come out the next week and they arrived on Saturday. Bob was friendly and professional.

Bob and Mike Vecchio were able to fit us in on relatively short notice and provided recommendations on where to pick up tile and paint for a good price. The work was done over a 10 day period. Jim, who did the work was very accommodating, he took a 2 day break after tiling the floor and installing the drywall, so we could paint and then he came right back and installed the fixtures, so we could use the new bathroom. Jim also went over the job before he started to make sure he understood what we wanted and he informed us if any changes were required before he made them. Overall, he understood what we wanted and did a very good quality job on the bathroom. The demo'd material was stored in our garage, but was all removed in one shot after the job ended. This is the second bathroom the House Doctors has done for us, and we were equally pleased both times. They are the first ones I think of when home renovation projects come up that I don't have time for.

Bob (contact) was awsome. He got in touch with me right away, no matter what I called for. There was definitely no lack for communication & status, which really impressed me. I didn't have to keep calling to follow up, he did the contact & statusing. Rod did the work, the job took roughly 3 hours for EVERYTHING. The guy "hustled", he knew what needed to be done & went right to it. Once again, we had an appointment and he couldn't keep it, but we knew in advance, he too was extremely responsive and accomodating. One small violation was overlooked & when brought to the atttention of The House Doctors, that was resolved within 24 hours. I just felt that the two individuals we worked with on this job (Bob/Rod) were proactive in helping me to achieve what I needed to do rather quickly for the right price. There was never any hesitation or question on their part in answering my questions/concerns. We thought this job was priced right. I was EXTREMELY SATISFIED OVERALL!

I called Bob Vecchio and the next day he had a quote for me on all three projects. Since these were city violation there was an impending deadline. I had waited too long to get the projects going, so I put Bob in a tight schedule. Much to my surprise, they still got all three projects completed before the deadline. The crew also ended up replacing more bricks in the steps than the original estimate. Very quick response and a high quality of work. I am already thinking of other projects for Bob's company.
