The House Doctors

The repairs were done promptly, and at the end of October, when the weather was not particularily nice. As of today (January 2010) we have had rain and snow, and have had no further problems with leaking in the chimneys.

This repair was done very promptly--we got a response the same day, and the plumber that came out to evaluate after work at 5pm was able to fix the pipe that same evening. We really appreciate the dedication to getting a potentially damaging problem like a pipe leak fixed so promptly.

Jill does an outstanding job. She goes above and beyond what I would expect.

Called owner-operator and stated problem. He and partner came out a few days later in snowy weather and fixed problem.

Bob was great. The electrician who did the work was great as well, I just do not remember his name. The price may be a little high considering nothing was very extensive or complex. However, they were available right away and got the job done quick and clean. I had asked Bob about a plastering job and he said his son would contact me about that, however I never heard from the son and ending up hiring someone else for that job.

I asked that the job be done only if the weather was above freezing. This is alway the problem because you can't do a good job when the gutters are frozen. So they waited till a day above freezing and came and did the work. They put the leaves in a bucket and did the job fast. Two men came out.

This is my third experience with The House Doctors, found through Angie's List during a roof repair emergency last fall. They can do all sorts of things, which eliminates the hassle of trying to find individual companies for plumbing, carpeting, etc. For this job, I decided to replace the substandard toilets in my townhouse, which have given me numerous problems over the 10 years I have been here. I went to a home improvemetn store to purchase the toilets, they picked them up, removed the old ones, and had the new ones working in a couple hours. Also this day, they installed a new carpet pad (water damage) and relaid the old carpet in a bedrooom and put in a closet light that I had been hoping to get around to for a long time. The guys are efficient and tidy, and do not leave any messes behind. I have a long list of future little projects, and I hope they will continue to be my 'go-to' guys for all the do-it-yourself projects that I never get around to. Next up: storm door.

On a dreary Saturday morning, I discovered rain leaking in the ceiling of a guest bedroom. A quick look at the roof showed that a large number of shingles had blown off in a recent windstorm. A few frantic calls to roofers yielded only one who could take immediate action - The House Doctors called back in minutes, and by afternoon a large tarp had been installed on a very steep 3rd floor roof, preventing further damage to the room. The roof was later repaired with matching shingles and has been fine since. I also discovered that the shingles, despite being only 10 years old, are not the greatest quality and are showing signs of deterioration, so I decided I wanted to upgrade and redo the whole roof. With weather getting cold and nasty, Bob Vecchio advised waiting till warm weather again, so the new shingles will bond better. This made sense to me, so I am planning to get the House Doctors back in the spring to do a new roof.

Jay and his crew arrived exactly on time to do the furniture moving and demolition work. The next day the drywall crew arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently to do the new ceilings. A hallway wall, accidently damaged by equipment, was repaired on the spot, as was a door knob dent that I caused a while ago. The ceiling texture of the small spots matches the old exactly! I found some leftover old paint in the garage, and lo and behold, it worked fine to touch up the patches. They suggested a different type of door stop that Jay put on the door hinge when his crew came back to move everything back into the bedroom.

Dug up the cable, replaced a damaged section of the cable, replaced the fuse, tested the circuit, filled the hole, and cleaned up. The electrician was on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, performed the work rapidly, and answered all questions that were asked.

The project was completed very satisfactorily. It was completed on time. I was kept informed. David and Scott did an excellent job. Thank you.

They were very prompt, professional, and got the job done. They cleaned well after they were completed with the work and hauled away all debris.

The communication was impecable. Eeryone arrived one time and worked very quickly and efficiently. They moved the washer and dryer from the garage to the laudnry room, hooked up both and made sure they ran effectively. There was an existing issue with a drain pipe which they identified and helped to fix. They made sure everthing was in proper working order before they left. Couldn't ask for me.

The staff was fast, skilled, and highly professional. They did a wonderful job and I couldn't be more pleased. I told them generally where I wanted the items hung and they worked out all of the details and measurements. Everything looks great.

Responded promptly to the phone message I left. Came to the house and reviewed everything that needed to be done with me. The crew did a very good job and cleaned up everything when finished. Bob checked the work when the crew had finished. I plan to have him back in the spring for work that needs to wait until then, no question that I would recommend them to others.

We had a very good experience with House Doctors! They came out to evaluate the work ahead of time so that we could get an estimate and establish a date to have the work done. We liked that a team of workers arrived to complete all the work (there were five different items) and that it was done very efficiently. Even when I noticed that the front door latch they replaced was not the same type as the old one, they simply went over to Home Depot and got the right kind and re-replaced it in no time at all. The only thing I would have preferred was an itemized bill, but we'll be sure to ask for that when or if we have them do future work and I'm sure it will not be an issue. In summary, the guys arrived when they said they would and did the work quickly and to our specifications. They are a Grade A outfit, we were very pleased with the outcome!!

Mike was professional and his assigned cleaning person Jill was prompt each week. We used the service on a weekly basis for about 5 weeks to solve a tight scheduling period in our lives. The results were good but not exceptional. The cost is higher than competitors but the competitors are not rated as well. If we need help in the future, we would contact them.

The overall experience was excellent. Mike Vecchio provided ongoing status updates thoughout the job. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner. We would definitely use The House Doctors again.

It took 2 weeks and several phone calls to get the estimate. I was impressed with the owner, but no as much with with Son who I had the most contact with. He would call me at 9-9:30 at night, if he would call at all. I chose not to have them complete the work.

Everything went well. They were very neat and allowed me to inspect the completed work before they left. They did an especially good job with the hand rails.

Got water damage, called insurance co. got The House Doctors name from Angie's List, called them up they came out in couple days gave me a quote. Once bad weather passed they came out and fixed all they said they would in a timely manner and were very proffessional. Was pleased when I recieved my bill and saw that it was exactly what they quoted me. Will probably be calling them for future pojects.

The price was reasonable. There was a little miscommunication about the job but that was cleared up. They were responsive.

They had a lot of good reviews, so that is why I went with them. They are not quite done completing the work yet.

They are awesome. We had a repairman install a washer wrong which resulted in water flooding our bedroom. The repairman did nothing and after a week the walls started to bow, the carpet began to smell and turn brown. I called the house doctors and they were at my home THE NEXT DAY! Complete repairs were done in 2 business days.

We have been impressed with our service for a few months now. The same young lady arrives at our home every two weeks to clean: she is pleasant, professional and thorough. We shall be long term clients with The House Nurses!
