The House Doctors

The House Nurses is the third cleaning company I've tried for my home, and I guess the third time's a charm! I've been using them for about five months now, and have been very pleased. Ashley is the main cleaner and she has a great attitude and attention to detail. She usually has a helper with her, and those girls have been neat and generally pleasant. Ashley is a good communicator and is receptive to any suggestions I may have. The girls are usually at my home for about four hours, and my home feels so refreshed when they are through!

They are excellent at what they do. They always do quality work. They are always very prompt and do a thorough job. They clean up after themselves. They also have reasonable prices.

It went smoothly! The two ladies arrived later than we had agreed upon but they had called me prior to their agreed upon arrival time so I was not waiting around. When they were on their way, I received another call with an arrival time, and they arrived excatly as promised. Upon arrival, we did a short walk through so I could show them the areas that needed attention. I had several appointments so I left them to do their thing. They had estimated 2hrs. and they finished in 1.5hrs. The unit was cleaned and was exactly what the place needed. They were friendly, caring, and did the job right the first time. Great job!

They replaced the back portion of the roof. The came on a Tuesday and finished with about 3 hours of work on Friday. Very professional, cleaned and took away all materials. Did not get in my way. Other than the noise from their work on the roof, I would not have known they were on the property. Excellent job. Excellent! The House Nurses do an excellent job of cleaning our house. I plan to stay with them for the foreseeable future.

Heavy ice buildup had apparently caused a gutter and downspout on the front of my house to pull apart. Bob returned my call immediately and said they would be out sometime that week. However, they came the same day, and repaired the gutter/downspout in 15 minutes! I am very appreciative, expecially since the weather is warming suddenly and lots of snow has been melting off the roof and into the gutters. I'm glad I found this company, and would not hesitate to call them again for other household chores.

I am just not familiar with what painters are supposed to do, but I really was expecting them to do more sanding. May be that's unrealistic. I have an old house and he did tell me that he wouldn't be able to sand it real smooth (tremendously smooth), but when it came to the windows the strip in between the windows (I wish he had told me) that he was totally not going to spray the paint because I would have told him to just replace the wood because it looks like (when you paint over something that has old paint on it) he's painted on the old paint. I didn't care for that very much, but I was really surprised about that and on the porch itself I thought he did a really good job. My husband noticed that the triangle above the porch that there was something not well done about that. I think he's coming in the spring to take care of that which is good. He's coming back to fix the problem, but if I wanted the front of my house painted, I don't think I would ask him to come back.

My leaking unfortunately started on a Sunday afternoon. The House Doctors (as were a few other places I also called) were booked up with jobs and could not schedule me for that day. However, I was scheduled for the next day, and not only were The House Doctors punctual, they actually arrived earlier than the estimated time they had given me. The workers were professional, efficient, and congenial. The ice build up was severe, but the workers kept at it until the ice had been cleared, which took a little over an hour on a very cold day. When the workers first arrived, my Maltese Yorkie dog was obviously excited and was barking at the unknown people at and in her house. The workers each stopped to greet her to settle her down. After the greeting, she immediately calmed down and laid quietly in the living room watching as they worked. I was impressed by their actions with the dog, as well as with their work.

It went very well. They were courteous, professional and thorough. We were very pleased with the service.

Bob Vecchio of House Doctors is very professional and pleasant to work with. The technician, Robert, who came to my house to do the work was a bit late (it is winter in Cleveland after all and driving is not always easy) but but very nice, professional and went right to work. I thought that I needed a shut off valve replaced but Robert took a look and told me that I did not-he could have done the replacement and charged me for it, I would not have known differently but he was honest with me and that is an invaluable service. Two weeks later I had a frozen pipe in my bathroom and had to leave for work-I did not know what to do. I called Bob to ask his advice which he happily and generously gave on the phone, again saving me money instead of telling me that he needed to come to my house on a service call. I did what he told me to do and within minutes the pipe was unfrozen and the water was running, I told Bob that he has a 'magic voice'!

I had another contractor came out and do some electrical work for me. They didn?t fix the dry wall once they were finished. I called the house doctors and they fixed my dry wall. Everything went great with this company.

The work went splendidly. They got here and completed. The workmen were great. I saved up a little money to have some sinks and plugs and they put some new cable on the roof as it was necessary and that's why I had the roof repaired. The problem was that they didn't quote me before they came. The other problem was that there was a communication issue because there was one thing left on the list that wasn't done. He had two guys come out. I didn't like the way he had organized. It was three days and four different guys. I am looking for somebody that can do it all. I wanted at least the guy that was making the decisions and disposing the bills to see the job. This guy doesn't come up and he sends people based on the telephone conversation. Between the two guys they were here a total of between 40 and 45 minutes. I am old and I can't do things myself anymore. 45 minutes and $238, I was a little taken aback. When I called the man, he said I should have asked first. He said that he only understood I wanted a sink at $65. I can understand that plumbers always charge by the time rather than the job, but not handyman. I am looking for somebody that I can work with. The workmen were fine, but my issue is with the manager. He is fast. He called right back and the guys were out within a few days, but he didn't keep me informed about the price. They were great on punctuality. The workmen were professional.

I was very happy with what they did. They showed up right on time and did an excellent job. They made a minimal mess and did a great job cleaning up after completing the work. I have already scheduled them to come back out for more work.

I noticed that one guy in the back stood on my air conditioning unit to access some ice and I noticed in the spring that my unit had a dent in it. I can?t prove anything because so much time passed, but I?m pretty certain that is the reason I had to have my air conditioning fixed. They did good work but I thought it was a little expensive. The second time I had a challenge getting them to do the work because it was a small job. The guy was pretty reluctant and they came out when I wasn?t here to do the work so I can?t verify that it was done. I could see that the gutter was straightened but I can?t confirm that the gutter got cleaned. I probably won't use them again.

They came out quickly and fixed my frozen mailbox. I could not get my mail. They are very good and were very nice.

I have used House Doctors before for plumbing and I liked their work. This time I had to wait a few weeks to get the repair done. They did warn me that it would take a while for them to get to my job. However I was willing to wait and they did an excellent job repairing the screens. The gentleman performed a thorough job and the window screens look great now.

Laurie and Ashley are very nice and Ashley did do a nice job w/ what she completed on Sat however I was very unhappy w/ the company overall. We bought a new house and needed a thorough cleaning. There were supposed to be 3 girls however due to illness etc. one girl was left w/ the task. I was not at home so my mother in law was there. Ashley spent most of the day cleaning the upstairs (which I was told it was in horrible condition). The previous sellers left the place a mess! I was informed that she would return the next day w/ another girl to complete the downstairs. I was really counting on the cleaning to be completed this past weekend because we were scheduled to move in Monday morning. On Sunday I had left a message for Ashley and she never called nor did she show up. I called Laurie (owner) and she said she didn't hear from her either. I called Laurie on Monday only to find out that the girl was unable to make it due to work (other job). I think it was very unprofessional to leave a client hanging like that. Someone could've called us to let us know that no one would be coming on Sunday. We had to move everything in on Monday. I also have another home that needs to be clean so now I will need to find a company that can follow through. I tried to re-schedule w/ Laurie but she stated there is no availability until 12/20 which I think is unacceptable since the job we hired her for was to be completed this past weekend and it was not. I would not recommend this company.

They were prompt, polite, and professional and did the job well. The bill was more than I expected.

Communication was lacking through the beginning and until they actually came to do the job. It took 2 weeks from the first call to when they came to give the estimate and another 10 days before they actually showed up to do the work. But the bill arrived in 2 days and again in 7 days. Work wise they are very professional and do and excellent job. My only complaint is on communication, showing up when you say you are coming or calling and saying you can't make it.

Well done. The workers were punctual, polite, and capable. It was somewhat expensive for installing storm door - bought at large store that would have charged less to install. However, overall I am satified with the quality and timeliness of the work.

This is the third project for which I've used The House Doctors. In each case I've found them to be very professional. Just before the electrician's arrival, I received a confirmation call from the office and another from the electrican just before his arrival. The electrician examined the workbox, had a discussion with the office, quoted a price for the job and had it completed within 10-15 minutes. It's so nice to have a light at the front porch again.

They were, as always, incredible. They worked with the countertop company and with us to start and finish the job before Thanksgiving. There were challenges along the way but they persevered. We could not be happier with the results.

I asked Bob to come when the gutters were not frozen (because then they are harder to clean). So he came right out and cleaned the gutters while the weather is nice. We did the whole thing on line and it was very convenient.

I called midafternoon and the owner called me back almost immediately. He sent someone out that day and fixed my one toilet to my satisfaction. The owner called with an estimate to replace the other toilet and within two days the toilet was replaced and the old one removed from the premises. Overall the service was good and very efficient.
