Ed is such a pleasure to work with. He exceeded our vision of our finished project, a tall order when dealing with a meticulous homeowner. He was always flexible and reachable. His crew was personable, friendly and hard-working. They often went above and beyond to make the product (and our experience) even better. The space was always kept clean. Only one issue surfaced early in the project, and was dealt with quickly, fairly and to our complete satisfaction a testament to Ed s commitment to pleasing his customers. Ed has vision. He consistently came up with creative and practical solutions for the limitations of our space (low ceilings, odd piping, and general old house fare), and was always open to ideas we came up with. The finished project is a perfect union of the best ideas we collaborated and agreed on. We're excited to work with him again.
Description of Work: Basement finishing/remodeling including framing, drywall, primer application, electrical, minor plumbing and custom wood/trim work. We elected to complete the painting and carpeting on our own. Our basement now includes two large finished rooms and three enclosed utility areas. We started with a fairly bare space, down to the waterproofed walls and concrete floor. Seven weeks later we had a gorgeous, spacious, custom family space. Ed s inspection and pre-project research resulted in an accurate price and schedule estimate. Change orders (and climbing project costs) were not a problem. A minor issue discovered as work progressed (a prior city code violation, electrical) was the only surprise that required a change order. Others resulted from upgrades that we initiated (plumbing for two new outdoor spigots, custom shelving/woodwork). In both cases, change orders were always discussed in detail, submitted in writing, fairly priced, and only added to the contract after we approved them.

ED IS RESPONSIVE AND VERY FAIR AND FLEXIBLE. HE SENT HIS CREW OVER AS SOON AS I WAS READY. THEY MEASURED ONE DAY AND STARTED WORK THE NEXT. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID THE WORK THEY SAID THEY WOULD. CLEAN UP WAS IMPECCABLE. I NOW HAVE A FLAT CEILING READY FOR PAINT WITHOUT THE GRIEF OF PULLING DOWN ALL THAT OLD PLASTER.
Description of Work: STILLWATER INSTALLED A NEW DRYWALL CEILING OVER AN EXISTING PLASTER CEILING WHICH HAD BEEN WATER DAMAGED AND PARTIALLY TORN DOWN AS A RESULT OF PLUMBING WORK IN THE BATH DIRECTLY ABOVE MY KITCHEN. THIS JOB WAS A LITTLE TRICKY SINCE THE PLASTER HAD CRACKED AND SAGGED, AND THE LATHE HAD BEEN REPEATEDLY WATER SOAKED OVER THE YEARS. THE DRYWALL NEEDED TO BE SHIMMED AND LEVELED.
