Description of Work: Service never happened. We just did not connect after several attempts on my part back in January / February 2012. Then life got busy and I did not follow up again.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for this company, only to discover they didn't serve my area. I did get a refund from Angie's list.

Description of Work: I do not remember how much I spent. The amount of work was done within the timeframe of the coupon I had purchased. Star Electric solved our problems quickly. I needed to order a new light fixture which was easily and professionally installed. I would use Star Electric again.

Description of Work: I purchased a "big deal" to get help with two items (a ceiling fan that wasn't responding to its remote and installation of a new bathroom light fixture).

Description of Work: This company offered a Big Deal offer. I purchased the offer and was instructed to contact the vendor to set up a date for service. I called 3 times and left voice mail messages to call me back explaining the reason for my call. To this day I have never heard from the company. Approximately, a week ago I voice my complainant with Angie's List who refunded my money. I looked at other reviews and saw that other people had reported the same issue. I was disappointed that Angie's List would allow a company getting such poor reviews the ability to do a Big Deal. They say they will manage the process better in the future.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for the installation of a bathroom fan. I called to redeem this deal and spoke to a man named Tim who after listening to me stated he couldn't talk at the moment as he was allegedly driving in his car at the time. My initial thought was why even answer the phone then? He stated he would call me back in 2 hours and that he had my number because it was on his caller ID. Needless to say no call that evening nor over the next 3 days. I called him back and it went into his voicemail where I again left a message and my number. The next week I again called him back and then several times after that, with no response. I called Angie's List and advised them of the problem and they stated they would contact him to honor the deal and schedule the work. After a couple of days I called Angie's back and stated that after thinking it over, I did not want a company of this low calibre doing any kind of work in my home and requested a refund. Angie's List refunded my $ 199.00 As I'm writing this, I see another complaint about a Big Deal issue against this company. I would caution other readers not to have anything to do with this company. There are plenty of other REPUTABLE electric companies on this list to choose from. Would anyone want a company of such low business character coming into their home? I requested Angie's List to remove this company from their list so this doesn't happen to someone else... Grades on the last 23 reviews *F* 10 *D* 2 THIS SAYS IT ALL BUYER BEWARE

Description of Work: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH STAR ELECTRIC!!! They do not respond to phone calls or e-mail. I purchased the Angie's Deal of the Day and have been unable to get in touch with Star Electric by phone or e-mail. I will seek my money back from Angie's List. This company should be removed from Angie's list.

Description of Work: I have spent every working day for 2 weeks calling to set up an appointment. I have to date received ZERO replies from this company. I can understand being busy but to never return phone calls...not much of a DEAL from Angies List Deals.

Description of Work: I used the Angie's List deal to have Tim do two hours of electrical work for me, including repairing my bathroom exhaust fan and installing a new light in the dining room. I plan to call him again for future work.

Description of Work: I purchased a $79 package of 2 hours of electrical work from Angie's List. Tim Balogh from Star Electric returned my call very promptly and came out to see what I wanted done, which was to install new smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector and an outlet on my front porch. I asked him to purchase the materials, which he did and then returned within a couple of days to do the work. He installed the new detectors and moved one older detector from its location to another. He then installed the outlet on the front porch. He also helped me with a light fixture which I could not open to put in a new light bulb. He was very professional and I am pleased with the work. I would call him again when I need electrical work.

Description of Work: A great experience overall. Work was performed expertly with owner Tim Balogh and his son changing out an old electrical braker box and refastened loose wiring without extra charge. Prompt, efficient, clean and best of all - no surprises.
