+ -1 moreIt drives like a new car! It was in pretty bad shape. I'm extremely pleased with their work. They do an excellent job. I love this company because they always do great work.
Description of Work: My car wouldn't start at all, so they had to work on that issue. They had to repair the distributor, removed/replaced two main brake lines and removed/replaced the front exhaust pipe.

+ -1 moreThey were pretty bad and squeaking loudly when I got there. When I arrived, they were able to fit me in the very next day. They were close enough to my home that made it easy for me to leave my car. They had great reviews. It's a one-man band. It was a little bit expensive, but I felt it was a fair price for what I got and he did a really good job. I think it was really worth it. I don't know if anyone is cheaper actually, but he provided quick and quality service. I was really impressed with how quickly he got me in and out. He was really straight forward with me on what he felt I needed done. This was my first time going here and he definitely gained my trust.
Description of Work: I ended up having my rear brakes replaced and some general up-keep maintenance.

+ -1 morePaul was a pleasure to work with. I originally was made aware of the problems by my dealership, and they wanted approximatly three times to repair and rplace what was wrong. That a small shop was able to beat the price that a dealership was asking is no surprise, but I feel it was significantly less than what others would have charged, and the workmanship was fantastic.
Description of Work: I had axles and struts replaced as well as new tires mounted.

+ -1 moreThought my brake booster went bad. Instead they found a leaking brake line. This saved me some money. While inspecting the care they also found a cracked motor mount. I was told I could wait until it failed to replace, but opted to have it replaced. Since finding them on the Car Talk site several years ago, I take all my vehicles to them. Couldn't be happier with their work.

+ -1 moreWe initially found South Euclid Auto through the Car Talk website where listeners to that show can recommend local mechanics. In each instance we've had the cars in for service, Paul has been friendly, upfront about what's needed and what's not, and professional. We have not needed any significant service on either car such as body work or engine or transmission service, so I can't really comment on that. But so far I am extremely pleased with the service I've received and will continue to use South Euclid Auto exclusively as my mechanic.
Description of Work: My wife and I have used South Euclid Auto Repair for all of our car service needs for approximately the last 2 years. This work has included primarily basic oil changes, tire rotations, and scheduled inspections on both her 2003 Ford Focus and my 2003 Honda Element. Additionally I had to have the driver's seat of my Honda fixed and my wife needed to have the Ford's air filter box fixed. As for the Honda, the driver's seat had come loose and would rock back and forth. Just prior to finding South Euclid Auto I received an estimate from the local dealer where I bought the car of about $700 to install a new seat entirely. Apparently the holes for the seat's bolts had widened from wear and the bolts were loose. When I took it to South Euclid Auto, Paul (who I believe is the owner) told me he would be able to fix the problem without replacing the seat. I apologize that I don't recall exactly, but I think he was able to simply clean up the holes and install new bolts. I think it was about $80 for the repair and the seat has been rock solid ever since. On the Ford, the bolts that close the air filter box had completely stripped out, so that the air filter couldn't be replaced. The dealer, where we took the car previously, wanted about $200 to replace the box. When we took it to SE Auto, he was able to drill out the old bolts and install new ones for about $40.

+ -1 moreThey are not a big commercial place, and I really like them. I picked them because they were rated high on Angie’s List. There were a couple of problems and they fixed them. They saw that my struts were bad but they didn’t push me to have them fixed or give me some kind of offer on the price to fix them. Instead, they just told me that the struts had gone bad. I did have somebody from the family fix those later on. Their price was good - I checked with a few providers and South Euclid Auto Repair offered me the cheapest quote.
Description of Work: I had South Euclid Auto Repair fix an alternator for me around the end of March, and it had failed. So I took it back to them and they fixed it free of charge for me. They saw that the struts were bad and advised me to get them fixed.

Hans, the owner, pointed out that my car was not up for an E-Check (my mistake). He made the repairs and had the car back to me that afternoon. I think that I have found a mechanic that I can trust.

I FOUND A USED PARTS DEALER AND PURCHASED THE PARTS. I CALLED SOUTH EUCLID AUTO REPAIR, TOLD THEM I HAD USED PARTS AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE PARTS, MAKE SURE THEY WERE OK AND GIVE ME A PRICE TO INSTALL. WHEN I TOOK THE PARTS IN, THEY INSISTED THEY DID NOT NEED TO LOOK AT THEM AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME TO LEAVE THE CAR FOR A DAY TO BE REPAIRED. I TOOK A DAY OF VACATION, BUT WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN THEY SAID THE PARTS WERE NOT GOOD AND THAT THEY WOULD ONLY INSTALL NEW ONES. IN ADDITION, THEY CALLED ME LIAR SAYING THAT THEY HAD NEVER LOOKED AT MY CAR A YEAR AGO AND THEY HAD NOT REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE PARTS WHEN I BROUGHT THEM IN.
