Description of Work: Stay away from Snow Brothers For 30 years my wife and I have purchased appliances from Snow Brothers Appliance in Lyndhurst Ohio. In those years we have also referred many family and friends to also shop there. As recently as 2 years ago my son and his wife bought $10k worth of appliances for the new house they had built. Their delivery guys showed up without a dolly or equipment to bring them into the house. Then when they called their salesman he had the nerve to yell at them because they lived on a gravel road. I should have learned from their experience but I didn’t. So recently in September 2024 my wife and I bought a new GE garage freezer. But my story begins 3 years ago when my wife and I purchased a new GE microwave, electric oven and a large refrigerator that had a price of $2999 for the refrigerator alone. The refrigerator was delivered by two guys who had no clue what they were doing. They forced the refrigerator through my front door ripping out the power chord and also ruining the circuit board it was attached too. After several weeks Snow Brothers finally had it fixed. And it has worked for the last 3 years other then having a strange sound over that period of time. Well that strange sound was a cracked condensor fan. In September 2024 that fan fell apart and the water dispenser and ice maker also stopped working. As well as the outside panels heating to an untouchable surface because of the heat. Two different appliance repair men said it was unfixable because it must have also been dropped when delivered because the bottom frame was crushed which caused the issues with the fan. One of them had us put a portable fan behind the unit to act like a condensor fan. We have been living with the refrigerator in the middle of our kitchen for the last 3 months with the fan behind it to prevent a fire from starting. In those 3 months I have been dealing with Corey Kirby at Snow Brothers who has been giving me the run around the whole time saying dont worry Snow Brothers will take care of it. I learned his idea of fixing the problem was to try and get Epic who they sold me a warranty for, and GE who made the product pay for it. Neither were really responsible for the issue since it was caused by Snow Brothers employees. Well I talked to both those companies numerous times and learned of everything that was and was not taking place from the stories Corey kept feeding me. Coreys idea of fixing the problem was to give me $800 that GE had offered though they were not responsible for anything that happened. Snow Brothers was not even willing to help me by offering anything off on a new refrigerator. After Corey jerking me around for these last 3 months I gave up on Snow Brothers who was at one time a really good company. I talked to GE once again and made a deal with them myself. I will never purchase anything from Snow Brothers again. I guess with the way society is today it is no surprise that this company has gone right down the toilet like society itself. I tried to state everything in a nice way but I hope you can read between my statements how I really feel.

I have used Snow Brothers before and I do prefer to shop local. Mike was extremely knowledgable and helped me pick a new washer. When they delivered it, they failed to hook up the drain so the first load I did flooded my laundry room and then leaked through the floor to my basement. They came back and attached the drain. BUT I spent my Saturday mopping up with towels and then had to wash three loads of towels. It ruined six of my ceiling tiles. I went to Home Depot and bought new ones which I installed. I submitted my receipt for reimbursement. During an approx two week period, no one from Snow bother to contact me to apologize or remedy the situation. If you call the store, it's impossible to get a person on the phone. What a disgrace!

Not well If I want to get a 3rd one I can wait till September!!
Description of Work: At this point I'm at one star. Day is not over yet! Order refrig on the phone as I knew exactly what I wanted. Had to wait 3 weeks. Refrig arrived and it was caved in on the top. Sent back. Told had to wait 3 weeks for next delivery in my area. Not acceptable. Put up a fuss and got it delivered in 2 days. Refrig delivered, had a couple scratches on side but I ignored them. When my handyman came to hook up the water line he noticed the back bottom grill was smashed in but not hitting wires. OK, we'll continue with this refrig. When he got to hooking up the water the plastic line running into the water filter was sliced and the metal entrance was smashed. Spent most of morning on phone. OK, got a few $$ off and they will send appliance repair to fix it. Appliance repair just emailed and 1 of the 3 parts is on an unknown time frame for availability. Crickets at this point from Snow Brother as to this new development.

Our old fridge gave up the ghost before we got our replacement (due in December). Snow Bros (Jeff) arranged a loaner to get me through (whew!). When he arranged delivery with the warehouse, he learned they had just received a unit slightly smaller than I had on order. Gave me a call, arranged delivery for TODAY, and the delivery guys were terrific too. I am one happy--and continuing--customer. Can't imagine a big box store taking the time Jeff at Snow Bros did for me.

We went to Snow Brothers to shop for our new stove. Ron was our sale rep. He showed us several models, with different features and prices. Let us know what he likes about each and what are the differences among them. He provided us enough information, pointed out things we did not even think about, but later proven to be very helpful. Then, he left us alone. No sales pressure and let us make our decision. We went back at least one more time for additional information. He was again very helpful. Thank you, Ron. The delivery of our stove went very smoothly, on time, installed just fine. Hulled away our old stove. Clean and tidy work. We will definitely shop there again for our future appliance needs.

I needed to replace a gas downdraft cooktop. Amy recommended really the only option (Jenn-Air) and got me all the paperwork and installation specs I needed, and quoted me a few different options if I wanted to go with a telescoping downdraft or install an overhead draft. Their price was the same one quoted by Band B, but they had the unit installed in the showroom so it was much nicer to be able to see and touch what I was buying. Snow Brothers recommends Ebel's Installations for installs. They came out and checked the installation site for free before I purchased the unit, so I had no worries about fit or other problems. (Ebel's also gave me great information on site that helped me make my choice-- Ebel's and Snow Brothers work well together). Jenn-Air also offers an extra year of warranty if you use a certified installer. There was a small glitch with a rebate. When I was purchasing the unit over the phone, Amy mentioned that Jenn-Air had a $100 rebate starting in a few days that I qualified for. I didn't see the rebate online so that was a nice surprise. It turned out that she had read the promotion wrong (the $100 was for a cooktop and another appliance purchased together). She offered to refund me $50 directly from Snow Brothers, which seemed like a fair compromise. The rebate was not part of my purchase decision and wasn't mentioned until we were already finalizing the transaction, so I really think this was an honest mistake.

I have bought all or appliances from Snow Bros. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Knowledgeable people and personal service -- that's what they are. You can get "deals" if you are purchasing for a new home (several pieces) but I have never had that chance. I still go to Snow Brothers.

the sales staff is very knowledgable and professional. No one in the city has a better selection of appliances. We were given specs for all of our appliances and they were sent to our contractor as well. The product was ordered and received in a timely manner and held til we were ready for them. Everything was smooth and could not have had a better experience. The have there own delivery service and they we're prompt and efficient. As for pricing.... The were competitive and more affordable, with greater selection than the Big Box stores.

The refrigerator we wanted was on the floor at Snow Brothers so we decided to buy it from Snow Brothers rather than Bloom Brothers where we usually purchase appliances. The sales assistance was fine right up to the time of delivery. The refrigerator was oversized so we needed to be there when it was delivered to help provide instructions. We stated that numerous times and gave the store our cell number three times. On the date of delivery, we did not receive a call and when we arrived home, the refrigerator was sitting in our garage. (We had workers in the house who apparently allowed the delivery people to come in and open the garage - no one had permission to do so). I was extremely upset and called the store immediately. To make a long story short - customer service went out the window. Instead of expressing understanding and immediately attempting to resolve the problem, when I requested someone come out to move the refrigerator, I was told and quot;noand quot;, the delivery people were the and quot;expertsand quot; and they had the final word. I wanted to speak to the owner - who never got on the phone with me or called me back. The delivery people came out the next day but without even trying, again decided the refrigerator would not fit through the doors and it would have to be wheeled around the back through the patio - - it would take two trucks of delivery people and cost us an additional $100. When all was said and done, it cost us an additional $53 delivery and one of our contractors helped out. After watching the men bring the fridge through the patio, I have little doubt there was sufficient space to move it in the way we originally planned. Nevertheless, I found the entire customer service experience after our purchase to be unsettling. I was upset that the delivery people would just enter a house without the owner's permission and leave a large appliance in the garage without contacting the homeowner first. And then when the owner calls upset, instead of offering to find a solution, the company basically makes excuses. I have heard from others that Snow Brothers follow up leaves a little to be desired and unfortunately, we can confirm that. A little sympathy and understanding would have gone a long way to ease this situation. AN INTERESTING FOLLOWUP: Refrigerator was installed and unfortuantely it isn't getting cold. We called the store to see about getting a repair person out. Was given the number for the repair company. However, I was also advised by a company representative that the invoice for the purchase of the refrigerator was not accessible becasue and quot;something had been written on the internet and their lawyers were looking at it to determine if it was slanderous.and quot; I was also told by this company representative that I should be careful about what I write on the internet. I have notified Angie's List about this reaction which came across as an attempt at intimidation.

They are awesome people in general. They have great customer service. I'm just not sure that you can get a personal experience like that at a place like Best Buy. You never get the runaround with them. You always get straight and accurate answers. The carry the higher end and middle of the road items.

A few other *awkward* parts to this whole transaction: When we first went in to look, we were stalked by Alex, who is obviously not schooled in customer service. He told me they could not hold our fridge in the warehouse, but that it had to be brought at the same time as the other 2 pieces, which ended up not being true. I asked around and got the recommendation to speak to Russ. When we went back to the store and were looking around, Alex again approached us and I had to basically tell him that I wanted to see someone else. Too aggressive in his sales approach. Definitely not appreciated. Second, the delivery man basically dropped my microwave on the floor of my garage. It isn't broken and DOES work but I wasn't really too happy to see the way he was tossing the boxes around. Bottom line - despite the fact that Russ was a nice and helpful salesman, the experience with the delivery/trash was so bad that I will probably not patronize them again. I will also make sure that I tell my friends and neighbors how we were treated since I know that many of them shop at this local business. Highly unprofessional and rude people - particularly Brandon, who I spoke to on the phone after the second attempt at trash pickup. The customer is always right, but aside from that, these delivery guys got off easy - they did not have to install my microwave OR disposal and they did not have to take my old fridge out of here. How hard is it to clean up after yourself and take the trash?
Description of Work: We bought a new refrigerator (approx $1400), sink disposal (approx $150) and over the stove microwave (approx $400) from Snow Brothers after a positive experience a few years ago with buying a new washing machine there. We are Lyndhurst residents and like that they are a locally owned business and not a large chain. Our first experience was very positive which is why we went back for this larger purchase. Our salesman (Russ) was helpful and informative. The main problems came with delivery. We only needed the fridge installed - our installer did the microwave and disposal so those were just left in our garage. We did not need any appliances removed, either, as we were donating our old fridge to a family in need. The delivery itself was fine; the problem arose when they left. I was in the kitchen and did not realize that all of the packing materials (read: TRASH) from the fridge were left strewn in front of my garage. When the washing machine was delivered a few years ago, they took the old machine AND the packing materials, so I never thought anything of it. I called the store and told them that the materials were left here and was told that when they take an old appliance they leave the trash to make a space "trade off" on the truck. Catch here is - they took no old appliances - they took no trash - they took nothing from this delivery. So a second stop was scheduled to come back and get the trash. I told the salesman that my husband would not be able to fit all of the garbage, including a wooden pallet, into our city issued can - and that even if he could, we would not be able to fit our own trash in it then. He said they would be out the next day. When the truck came, my message somehow became that I needed them to get the wooden pallet only. They left the large box of trash that WE had to gather from all over the driveway which we left next to the trash cans with the pallet. I called again and was told by Brandon that they only had in their notes to pick up the pallet and that he didn't understand why we couldn't just "throw it in our recycle can". Not the point. If you have a policy to take trash if you don't take an appliance, every piece of trash should have been taken out of here, whether I had 50 cans with space in them or not. Terrible response and customer service, particularly given that we had spent $2000 in their store ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF SOMEONE who is spending $10,000. I have gone back and warned that person to make sure they are clear about how trash will be handled BEFORE delivery, as this was very unsatisfactory, and not what I expect from Snow Bros. They told me that we were welcome to bring the trash up and put it in their dumpster - highly unprofessional - but what we ended up doing. My husband went to the store with our trash and essentially made a scene, but what do you want when you treat customers this way?
