Really bad. Operators did not know what to do. I was promised a call when the techs arrived at work. That was 7:30am. It is now 17 hours later with no response. We can’t set our alarm and can’t get Sievers to help. I cancelled our account for obvious reasons

I previously gave Sievers a poor review a year or two ago when their technician didn't show up for two appointments in a row. Today Tom F. showed up on time, quickly replaced our door sensors, and gave us great advice. If you are lucky enough to have Tom service your security system you will not be disappointed.

The advice alone from Sievers saved us hundreds of dollars. They did not try to sell me upgrades that I did not need. I will continue to use them for monitoring, will call them for any and all system adjustments, and would recommend them to everyone.

The install wasn't too bad, but the technician was late and then had to schedule another day to do the install. The monitoring service has been fine. I have no complaints there. The problem is I asked them to send out a guy to hook up a sensor on a new door. He didn't show up and didn't call. I had to call the office to find out if someone was still coming out. They didn't know, then an hour later they called and said he won't be coming out. Something similar happened when I had the system installed last year. They gave me a four hour window and the dude showed up an hour after that. Unfortunately, I can't take can't take multiple days off of work waiting for these guys to show up. My plumber has no problem showing up within a three hour window. If he thinks he won't be able to make it or will be late he calls and tells me. With Sievers, I spent 5 hours waiting for someone to arrive, only to have to call and ask where the guy is. Then they said he won't be coming and I'll have to reschedule. If it only happened once I could understand, but this has been the second time I have had this problem. Will be shopping for another security company, one that is local to my immediate area and has more reliable service.

The guy's really prompt and he does a really good job. They're always good and calls us if there's an issue with the alarm system or if something goes off or whatever. They were a local company so that's nice too.

The installation and changes went well. Dave explained what he was doing, had me test every door, window and motion detector before he left. Was happy that Sievers could handle my VOIP set-up without a very large price tag that ADT wanted.
Description of Work: Changed from ADT to Sievers. Dave, the technician, replaced the battery, correctly routed the system to VOIP, and fixed the motion detector that had been mounted upside down.

The service is cost efficient. They are very quick to respond any time I forget to set the alarm or turn it off. The staff responds immediately and they have always been very nice to speak with. I feel very confident with their service as they are always able to answer questions.
Description of Work: I initially signed a three year contract with them and I have been a customer with them since 2011. The cost above is per month. They installed the alarm system and they do monitoring.

It's nice to have a local company monitor my burglar alarm. I went with Sievers because they have their prices on the website--not many companies do. Product was installed a few days after purchase. The only thing that made me weary was that the salesman was a fill in person from another company because Sievers was short handed. However, he was friendly, helpful, and polite. He even suggested purchasing additional sensors online, and with the installer code and a little guidance, I have installed additional sensors to my system. Sievers monitoring is always quick to respond; usually less than a minute. Their pricing is average and pretty comparable to other monitoring companies.

Wanted to switch alarm providers. Salesman came, (5/28) on time, very nice, told me exactly what would be done, took pictures of existing equipment, wrote up charges, and I paid by check. Told me someone would call in the next couple days. One week later I called...said there was no record. They called sales rep got it straightened out. Made appt. for service, day of, got call there was emergency in installers family, had to cancel, waited a week, installer came and said I would have to get new equipment that they could not use this particular brand and I would have to buy a new system and new keypads. I showed him on two different forms that this brand was named and the sales rep even took pictures. After waiting for 41/2 hrs for him to come, he left in 15 minutes with nothing being done. I was then told they would allow some discounts for their errors. I was stuck as I had cancelled the other company so Seiver could change over the system. So 6/24 appt was scheduled. Service tech was here for 7 hours. Very thurough and knowledgable. Said I would need a repair person, since he could not get a signal in the basement. That was scheduled for 7/17 at 9AM....no one showed. When I called, was told he did not start till 11 AM and that the person who scheduled it was no longer there. I am writing this on 7/24 at 11:59 AM waiting for a 9AM service call. I have called 4 times, left messages, and no one has bothered to call back. Does not leave me much faith in their security protection. So much for customer service.

The system went down AGAIN! The wall unit began to beep at 4:02 pm today and I checked the unit. The trouble light was on and when I looked into the screen said trouble communication. I called the company and the woman had me test the unit, they were not receiving the signal for an emergency. She said she would ping the wall unit and call me back in a couple of minutes. I knew from past experience that I would have to call back because they would not be calling me. I waited for 40 mins. and I called the company again, another woman said they were having problems with ATand T communications and that they were working on getting the system up again and that they were thinking about changing from ATand T cell towers. When I said to her and quot;what good is the unit if you aren't getting a signal, why have it?and quot; she informed me that a supervisor would call me back on Monday (this was Friday afternoon). She said that they are working on fixing the problem and hope to have it working properly by tonight.It is now 7:02 pm and it is not working.
Description of Work: Gave me the same run around as last couple of times, say they are working on the problem and a supervisor will call me in three days. Hope to have the system up and running tonight sometime.

The installation was done cleanly with our questions answered. We forgot to set up the alarm a few times in the beginning and they called immediately to check on us. Our phone line went out a few times and they responded immediately. Overall our satisfaction is good. I would recommend them and use them again. One thing they did forget to mention and it was not totally their fault. In the town in which we live, we have to have a permit to have an alarm, with a one time $10 fee. It is not a major thing, and it is more important that the homeowner knows this than the alarm company should.

It was adifficult decision between Sievers and a competitor. In the end I opted use a competing firm. But I think I would have been just as pleased with Sievers.

We have Siever's Security under a personal medical alert monitoring system for our aging parents. The base unit uses a UPS type battery (GE 60-914, or a DWJ6-1.2) which needs to be replaced every 2-3 years. When the old lead acid battery failed, a technician kindly took my mother step-by-step over the phone to deactivate the system. This was a and quot;plusand quot; for Siever's, and they are to be commended. We immediately ordered a replacement battery. That was SEVEN weeks ago. At the four week point, our mother let us know that the battery never arrived. My bad for not following up on it sooner. A phone call later, and we discover the battery had never been shipped! They had no record of the three phone calls requesting assistance and requesting a new battery. They assured us that a replacement would soon be on its' way. Two week later, and still no battery. Another phone call to the warehouse supervisor yielded the following: UPS lost the battery, destroyed while in transit, somewhere near Meadville, PA.. A replacement was sent over a week after the original package was reported destroyed by UPS; after several, somewhat heated phone calls, of course. We have been eight weeks now without a personal security system, for two elderly parents living out of town in a rural community. Sievers Security, when solidly nudged, offered to send the long awaited, much anticipated battery, at their cost. Eight weeks after the initial inquiry, it should arrive. Fingers crossed. Lesson learned: Order a replacement battery GE 60-914 and replace it every 24 months. Period. Don't wait for it to fail. It's not worth the frustration. At the very least, have a replacement battery standing by for when, not if, the battery fails. Order it from any reputable retailer for a fraction of the price on the web. Plan on spending $15-20 with shipping. It will arrive via ground shipment, since it is a lead acid battery. And it will arrive. If you don't feel comfortable changing a backup battery, find someone to show you how. It's easy.

Sievers Security Systems employee, Gary, was thorough in evaluating our security needs with consideration to our temporary situation. The installer, Tom, was professional and efficient during the installation and thorough in explaining how the system worked. The system is user-friendly and when I called the next day to change my security codes, a Sievers employee (her name escapes me) assisted me with step-by-step instructions and the task was done very quickly. I am very satisfied with my selection of Sievers Security Systems.
