He sharpens knives at the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square each Saturday morning. Since I have so many knives, I decided to make a personal appointment with him, and took the knives to his home, which is quite close to where I live. He told me that it would probably take him about 45 minutes, and I was welcome to wait, or drop them off and stop back. I elected the latter, and sure enough, 45 minutes later my knives were sharpened - as good as new, with the exception of one which is about 40 years old: he suggested I replace it. I highly recommend his services and will definitely use them again.

Responded immediately to my email requesting an appointment to drop off the knives. My husband called and he stopped by on his way home from work. He sharpened the knives while my husband waited. He explained how DIY sharpening can destroy the staight edge. He did a wonderful job.

Emailed Steve, arranged to drop off at his house and picked up the same day. Great Job! Super Sharp! When I dropped off the knives I forgot to mention a repair to be done on one of the knives. He recognized it and took care of it even though I didn't tell him about it. Will definitely use again. Contrary to popular belief, a sharp knife is a safe knife. After reading some of the other reviews I meant to buy his book on sharpening, but forgot. I will email him about that later.

He is wonderful. He works out of his home. He is very comfortable. He can do it while you wait. The knives are wonderful, and he is reasonably priced. I highly recommend him.

I dropped off the knives to Steve's home since I wasn't able to go to his Shaker Square Market stand, and he had them done by the next day. The knives were impressively sharpened, even the ones that had been dented and rattling in the drawer for years, so that they were much more useful. He was courteous and very friendly, and I will definitely use his services again.

STEVE'S SHARPENING WAS SUCH A GREAT FIND FOR ME. INSTEAD OF FINDING HIM SOONER, I HAVE BEEN REPLACING MY DULL SCISSORS WITH NEW ONES. I'LL BE A CUSTOMER OF HIS FOR AS LONG AS HE CONTINUES TO SHARPEN. HE HAS TABLES DURING THE WARM MONTHS AT STREET FAIRS LIKE SHAKER SQUARE AND COIT ROAD. IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THE FAIRS, HE'LL GLADLY ARRANGE DROP OFF AND PICK UP FROM HIS HOME.

HOWEVER, I HAVE FREQUENTLY WORKED NEXT TO STEVE AT THE FARMERS'' MARKETS HE ATTENDS AND WATCHED HIS WORK AND INTERACTION WITH CUSTOMERS. STEVE LOVES WHAT HE DOES. THIS IS A SECOND CAREER FOR HIM THAT BEGAN WITH PERSONAL INTEREST. HIS PRICES RANGE FROM $2-$3.00 FOR KITCHEN KNIVES, $4-$6 FOR SCISSORS (INCLUDING PINKING SHEARS), AND HE CAN DO LARGER ITEMS SUCH AS PRUNING SHEARS, HATCHES AND AXES, AND OTHER SPECIALTY ITEMS. SOMETIMES HE CAN REPAIR TIPS AND NICKS. HE IS GENUINELY CONCERNED ABOUT DOING QUALITY WORK AND IS WILLING TO EDUCATE YOU ABOUT KNIFE SHARPENING OR SELL YOU A HOW-TO BOOK HE SELF-PUBLISHED RECENTLY.
