I got a maintenance ageement. If you don't have any work done, your're giving away $200 a year. If I don't have a lot of money, they will replace the appliances and do the maintenance. They've been excellent so far, when I have a problem they schedule you and come right out. If I get any problems with the appliances they'll schedule me and come right out. I think it's excellent.

My garage door would occasionally only go down about half way then go back up. Thought maybe it was the old metal rollers. First thing they did was adjust the tension by turning a little knob on the back of the opener. In retrospect this is probably all I needed but I'd already paid for the roller replacement so they went ahead and replaced them with silicone rollers. They are definitely quieter than the metal ones. Only problem is they are also smaller. Door doesn't always come down even now and I accidentally pulled a roller out of the track trying to adjust the door. If the door is crooked now I let the opener bring it up and back down until it's even.

Appt rescheduled for Dec 22 between 3 and 6 pm. Left work to be home when repairman arrived only to get an email saying time changed to 5 to 7pm then another email to say that it was changed to 5 - 7 pm. Then changed from 5:15 - 7:15 pm At 5:30 received call saying they weren't coming and we should reschedule. We have been without the ice maker portion since The end on November. During my home inspection prior to purchasing the home, the inspector noted that he could not power up the dishwasher. I thought I would have to replace it. I called several repair services but they did not service Kenmore products. So I called Sears. What a wonderful experience. The phone operators were courteous, helpful and very professional. They asked many questions and determined that the unit was still under warranty (I had no idea that it was). After more questions they ordered the parts which were sent to our house, and scheduled a repair person. The repair person arrived on time, replaced the parts, cleaned and check the dishwasher and ran it several times to make sure it was working properly. Even though I did not buy the dishwasher, and it has been in the house for several years, the warranty covered all cost., and the service was done professionally and timely. I recommend them without hesitation.

Description of Work: Got a Brand new Kenmore dishwasher under a replacement warranty from Sears in the month of April 2014. Dishwasher started leaking from the bottom. Water went in the basement and messed up christmas tree, and ortiments. Called Sears to get appointment on10/2/14 to get a repairman to look at dishwasher under Sear warranty. The earliest Sears said they could get some one out was 10/17/14. My gripe with Sears is they sell you all these appliances and when it breaks you have to wait a month to get it fixed. Once the repairman comes out on the 10/17/14 to just look at it, then they have to order part which takes ten days, then they will have to come out again to put the part in. The blue Crew needs to have access to parts the same day, like other repair companies. Why does Sears have to take so long just to get a repair person out?

I scheduled with Sears 2 weeks in advance to get a Saturday appointment and called the day before to confirm. In my area, they provide a window of 8AM to 5PM for service so I needed to plan on spending the day at home to accommodate. On the day of service at 2:30pm I received a call stating the technician was unavailable and my appointment needed to be rescheduled. I was offered no incentive to reschedule with Sears, and while I believed the person calling me felt badly, I was very surprised that Sears could not offer better service. I understand things happen, but the lack of trying to "make it right" for me as the customer led me to seek out other repair services rather than wait another 2 weeks for a Saturday appointment that I'm not confident would be met.

I had scheduled a service appointment the week before to have my washer repaired on 10/28/2013 bet. I was told the service technician would call me before coming to my home to ensure someone was at home between the hours of 1PM to 5PM. When no call was received by us we called to inquire what was the status? We were told the technician had some problems and could not make the appointment and that we would have to re-schedule at their convenience. A complaint call to Sears was placed with no satisfaction. No one could tell us why we did no receive a call prior to canceling our appointment just that basically "tough" reschedule. Time was taken off fro work to be home and now that will have to happen again. Never ever purchase a Sears Service Contract.

I scheduled an appointment over a month ago to have a small repair on the fan of the blower system used for the AC/ furnace system on a rental home. The service person called off the first visit. Was "early" the second visit. Called my tenant and said he was on his way 1/2 an hour before the time frame of which the rescheduled job was to be performed. When my tenant tried to reach him and told him I would be there in 10 mins she was stuck in a phone tree with Sears that took an extreme amount of time and then he was "onto the next job" at the start of the 4 hour time frame which he was supposed to perform. She tried to schedule the appointment online with an electronic link suggested by the customer service person on the phone. The link was never sent to her email. The next rescheduled job (2 weeks later..the earliest they could do), the technician did not show. He was running an hour later than that 4 hour window and did not show. I was notified he would ne an hour late. I notified my tenant who waited 2 additional hours than the 4 hour window. When I called the service number the service was terrible and I was stuck in a phone tree for 20 mins before speaking with someone who was not very helpful. They wanted to reschedule a 4th visit for the job and I told them I am going to schedule with someone else. I'm done using Sears.

I have a Kenmore freezer under a Sears protection agreement. It has broken 3 times in the past year, lost entire freezer full of food twice. Had to take off work 5 times for a technician to come diagnose the issue and for subsequent follow up visits over a week later to replace parts. Each time I have had to call for service, appointment scheduling is always 7 or more days out. The freezer is a lemon and Sears refuses to take it back. Technicians show up 1+ hour late for the already extremely annoying four hour ETA window. Don't waste your money on Sears extended warranties since they can't provide decent service or lasting repairs. Better yet don't waste your time or money with Sears period.
Description of Work: Attempt to repair a newer (2011) Kenmore Elite freezer that has suffered four failures in the past two years. Freezer is under Sears Home Services extended warranty. Freezer is still broken and I've given up on Sears.

They were unprofessional, lousy, sloppy and they upsell you. They come into the door saying like they work on tip. I also used them to clean the air duct in my house and they broke my window that is why I had to get the new windows. When they came out to clean the carpet, one of the guys basically did all the work while the other guy barely worked. When the company came to my house, I told them whoever is coming to my house I needed a name, an I.D. and a government I.D. like a driver's license to verify it. I asked if they are licensed, bonded, insured, their supervisor's name and number and they all got offended by it. This is my house. I wanted to know who is coming to my house, who is doing work in my house and if something happens in my house, I want know who was at my house and not some mystery person.If I came into a business, the first thing you ask me for is my name. For them to get offended, I think it was pretty odd. I have every right as a homeowner to know who is coming to my house , to know if they are licensed, bonded and insured and to know who their supervisor is and how to reach them because in the case when they broke my window and did not say anything, that was pretty tacky. It was not until my wife came home and asked me who broke the window. It was the hose through the basement window and when they removed the hose, they broke the window but they had no problem accepting a tip. Never would I use them again, I never used Sears actually. Their product sucks.

We have a Master Protection Agreement with Sears for several years an their response to provide the service is getting poor. The worse is our last two 1) replacing the water heater, when the call for replacement was determined and initiated by a Sears technician wih 36 years of experience and the sub-contractor was arrogant and delayed the installation by weak and we had to house the Wahter Heater in our garage. On top of that demanded that we pay $150 for an expansion tank that had been installed by Sears when they replaced the previous unit. We are asking for a refund and still waiting.2) Our central air stopped working on June 12, the serviceman came on June 19 suggested that the unit be replaced, but the powers to be decided to replace the parts and the service was scheduled for July 11. I must have spent countless hours trying to expedite the service call and was able to get them on July 6. In the meantime, my 70 year old wife suffered through the hottest month in Cleveland. We are now waiting for the payment of three fans that Sears approved. It appears that for Sears profits over-rides customer service, which is not the way it used to be 50 years ago

They couldn't have cared less about my problem. They were supposed to call me within 15 to 20 minutes of arrival so I could meet them there. They never called and when I called their 800 number they said their records did not show anything for them to do that even though I called that very morning to remind them of it. They had no solution and were completely rude and uncaring.

They had to cut the granite to fit and they had to get it exactly, because when they cut the granite and it doesn't fit, they would have to scrap it and go again. They came out and they had a guy with some kind of equipment that measured everything so that it would be cut exactly right.
Description of Work: We used Sears Home Improvement for kitchen remodeling. They did granite countertops and stone backsplash. They also put in recessed lighting all through the kitchen and hallway.

On Oct 4th I contacted Sears repair services for my refrigerator. At that time I bought a service contract for the refrigerator. The service man came out that day but wasn't able to fix the refrigerator because the part wasn't on his truck. Since we were due to go on vacation, he set the date to return for today, Oct 20th. I received an email confirmation the next day, Oct 5th. We also received a confirming call last night. Today, he never showed, and when I called to find out why, I was told my service date is the 27th! NEXT WEEK!! I was basicly told I was mistaken or lieing when I said today is the day he was supposed to come and there was no way they could or would get him here earlier. At this point, I really don't have any assurance that he will show up next week. Obviously a confirming call the night before isn't any assurance at all. I still have the email confirmation. I have printed it out and can be supplied if necessary.

Sears was the highest bidder but they would install new unit within 3 days after contract signing and I have 18 Nos. topay. The others would be able to come out within 2 - 3 weeks, if not longer plus Sears has an unconditional guarantee.
