Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value BEWARE NOT FOR THE AVERAGE MOM! I said I was not going to write an emotional review but I just can't help it. Everytime I look in the mirror since I was there I tear up. It was awful. The spa side was great. My massage therapist was so wonderful. The salon side was horrible. If you look like you don't have money or are not going to be a repeat client on a regular basis, they will treat you incredibly bad. They are very busy and clearly do not need more business. They stained my face and missed my gray hairs, I cant even believe that is possible. They even got dye inside the ear. I mean inside the ear against gravity! I'm going to try to post pictures. They did refund the dye job but they made me feel like it was my fault. That I should have stayed longer to let them violate me further. They completely defeated the purpose of a 112 dollar facial, which the manager threatened to not pay the massage therapist for if I took a refund. I thought the person who shampooed my head was too rough. But now that I am 5 days out and the dye still will not come off my skin, I wonder if maybe he wasn't so much rough as the rest of my scalp was damaged? Either way he missed me wincing while he shampooed which I did with exaggeration in hopes he would be more gental or give an explanation of why it hurt. Keep in mind I have two babies at home who grab fist fulls and pull all the time. I assure you I am no stranger to discomfort. This wasn't discomfort, this was just painful. I believe the girl that did the color may have done something wrong because my scalp has been sore still. I'm sure the owner will get on and give a snotty response to this. But the truth is that he's ten feet away from somebody having dye slopped clear across their face. 10 feet away from somebody leaving in tears. That is how his business is run and business is clearly good. My husband and I, both being from business owning families and my husband a current business owner, of course contacted him first with no response. I feel terribly exposing myself further by writing this but if this post had been up from someone else it would have influenced my decision to go. I am at a all time low for self-esteem after having twins. My husband insisted that this would be a good experience. That he knew the owner and I had nothing to worry about. It was awful. I left there feeling victimized. I did not feel in control of what was happening to me on the salon on side. The girl who dyed my hair said three times after pointing out that I had uneven hair color from dying at home that it would cost an extra $25 to do the whole head, instead of just roots. I believe she was worried about my ability to pay. That may have been why she did such a bad job. Getting the color and cut were the only services I actually wanted and was looking forward to. I wanted to try hight lights or frosting or ambiance (I'm probably showing how often I get a chance to get my hair done with the terms I'm using) but they didn't even offer anything but what they did, pick a color. I left right after they finished the shampoo. I felt humiliated. The manager made me feel even more like trash when I called in, she called my husband back and in a lot more words said I was to basic to know what was to be expected at a salon. Their price was expensive. Online, it said that their regular haircut is at $45 so I made an appointment for that and I got there and they tried to talk me into this other kind of haircut for curly hair. It was called a curly girl haircut and it was twice as expensive. When I was done, I was shocked how expensive it was. They talked me into it but they did not tell me how much it cost and then it was difficult to maintain. I was not very happy with them. I thought that that was unprofessional.

They were excellent. They provided the service that they advertised.

The overall experience was great. The staff at the reception desk were friendly. Marianne did my facial. I was first walked to the changing room and was given a locker and a robe. I was then followed into a cozy sitting area where i was seated and my legs and feet were wrapped in hot towels while resting on a warm neck pillow. After few minutes of relaxation, i was walked into the spa room. Marianne examined my skin and recommended the type of facial and treatments i would need for my skin. She explained each and every product she used on my skin. I was also given a hand and foot massage. It was a very relaxing experience and my skin felt and looked great after the service. I would definitely go back to Santos Salon and Spa for these services.
