He worked for a full week on the floor, taking incredible care with the sanding and refinishing of every centimeter, including inside every closet and pulling out the refrigerator (disconnecting/reconnecting the water) to make sure it was completely uniform. In addition, since I was on crutches due to an injury, Tom did ALL of the moving of furniture and everything that was on my counters and shelves so they wouldn't get dusty/dirty. He was careful to put plastic over doorways to the rest of the house and provide covering that could be walked on when the floor was in-process. He even cleaned up a bunch of the dust and re-assembled/ moved all the furniture back in when it was done. I have my house on the market now and am getting compliments from both friends and strangers on how good the floor looks!

+ -1 moreTom Reznik is a gem. He truly cares about his quality of work and has great attention to detail. In addition to sanding, staining, finishing, he filled in nail holes and big cracks between the boards, which others wouldn't do. Other refinishers also refused to do screen & re-coat. He also tried 3 sample stains to match the stairs to the floor. I had planned to have Tom refinish everything but after the carpet was removed, the floors were in good condition and he felt I could save a lot of money, time & mess, by doing a screen & re-coat Since we didn t know what was put on the floors in the past, we took a chance the polyurethane may not adhere but it has been about 10 months now and the floors look just as good as when he finished them. He does not have "dustless" equipment, but does a good job keeping the area clean. He works alone, so the job took longer than the big companies but the quality, value and attention to detail is worth it. Tom made this truly a pleasant experience!
Description of Work: Completely refinished stairs (12 steps) to 2nd floor, including a small landing & closet floor (6x4 area). Did a screen & re-coat on most of first floor (living rm, dining rm, den). Included two coats of polyurethane and touch up to baseboard trim paint.
