Description of Work: They did a lot of different work for us, such as, painting, repairing ceilings, waterproofing (their contractor), fixing the side steps. Everything went well considering how much work was done. If there was a problem with anything, Eric the supervisor made sure that it was fixed quickly and right. We would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I was looking for a house painter and heard of Reilly Painting on the radio so called them for an estimate. They responded immediately and offered to help with all of the many issues going on with the condition of the exterior of the house. They answered questions and came out to look at the house and submitted an estimate and followed up several times to check on my decision. I had many personal problems come up in the meantime and was unable to follow through getting other estimates as recommended by Angie's List. I felt terrible that all their efforts on my behalf came to naught. Another painter was recommended to me who came out and submitted an estimate that was more within my means. I still want to contact Reilly Painting to let them know how much I appreciate all they did, and tried to do, for me. I believe that if I ever needed any of their other services, I wouldn't hesitate to call on them, except I feel embarrassed to contact them now only to tell them I won't be using them to paint the house. Their office contact person, Lisa, and Mike Reilly himself were so personable and helpful and considerate that I really feel terrible that I wasn't able to use them for this particular project.

+ -1 moreNOT ONLY DID THEY TAKE 'FOREVER' AND GO COMPLETELY OVER THE ESTIMATE AS THEIR NAME TO FAME IS 'THE FINE PRINT' BUT THE WORK WAS TERRIBLE. I NOW LIVE WITH MY CARPETING RUINED BECAUSE OF THEM AND BECAUSE OF THE OVER CHARGING I WASN'T ABLE TO DO OTHER THINGS I HAD PLANNED WITH THE ADDITIONAL MONEY THEY CHARGED. THE OWNER CAME INTO MY HOME AND STARTED TO 'SCREAM' AT HIS WORKERS ON THEIR WORK. THE WHOLE THING WAS A NIGHTMARE AND TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL INCLUDING THE 'COST' WHICH WAS DOUBLE WHAT I CONTRACTED FOR. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO PAIN A 'DOG HOUSE.'

Description of Work: WERE SUPPOSED TO REPAIR, REPLACE ICE DAMAGED GUTTER AND FLAT ROOF. JUST HAD AN ADDITIONAL REPAIR DONE ON A DIFFERENT ROOF - ABOVE THE GUTTER THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. TURNS OUT - THEIR 'REPAIR' WAS SO BAD, IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO OUR SOFFIT.

+ -1 moreI TRIED TO SHOW HIM A PROBLEM WITH A BOARD AROUND A DOOR THAT HAD NOT BEEN SANDED. MIKE WENT BALLISTIC (AGAIN). AT THAT POINT I TOLD HIM TO GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. THE WORK WAS NOT ONLY NOT MUSEUM QUALITY BUT IT WAS SHODDY: CEILING CUT LINES WIGGLE, CEILING PAINT WAS TOUCHED UP WITH WOODWORK PAINT OF A DIFFERENT COLOR, VERY POOR OR NO PREPARATION WAS THE NORM, BRAND NEW CHERRY KITCHEN CABINETS HAD PAINT ON THEM, AS DID THE FLOOR AND SOME APPLIANCES. WE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS REPAIRING THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY REILLY. BOTTOM LINE: WE WERE AMBUSHED: DECEIVED AND THE WORK DONE WAS SHODDY; MIKE REILLY HIMSELF WAS AGGRESSIVE, ARROGANT AND DEFINITELY NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY.
Description of Work: PAINTED TWO BEDROOMS, KITCHEN, DINING ROOM AND UPPER AND LOWER HALLWAY. MIKE REILY CALLED ME FROM MY HOME USING MY PORTABLE PHONE. HE TOLD ME THAT I WAS ASKING FOR TOO MUCH. THE JOB WAS GOING TO BE 50 HOURS OVER BUDGET. THIS WAS AFTER HE ASSURED ME HE WOULD FIX ALL PROBLEMS. MIKE THEN PROCEEDED TO CALL ME AN AMATEUR AND SAID HE WOULDN'T BE TOLD WHAT WAS A GOOD JOB, OR NOT, BY AN AMATEUR. I TOLD THE ESTIMATOR I WAS LOOKING FOR MUSEUM QUALITY. MIKE TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE MANY COATS OF PAINT AND HE INFORMED ME IN HIS ESTIMATE HE TOLD ME HOW MANY COATS OF PAINT WOULD BE USED. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR MUSEUM QUALITY DURING THE ESTIMATE AND HAD NO REASON TO BELIEVE HE WAS MISLEADING ME IN THE QUOTE WHEN HE WROTE HOW MANY COATS OF PAINT ARE REQUIRED. INCIDENTALLY, THE QUOTE WAS 50% HIGHER THAN THE NEXT PAINTER.

+ -1 moreTHEY DID SOME EXTERIOR WORK TOO. WE WANTED SOME REPLACEMENT SHUTTERS MADE FOR THE HOUSE. THE ORIGINAL SHUTTERS LASTED 75 YEARS, THEY WERE WOOD. THE ONES THEY MADE WERE MADE OUT OF SCRAP PLYWOOD AND THEY FELL APART WITHIN A MONTH. I DEMANDED THAT THEY REPLACE THOSE AND THEY DID, THE SECOND TIME THEY MADE THEM THEY WERE THEN MADE OUT OF REDWOOD, AND THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE EXTRA MATERIALS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: WE HAD A KITCHEN REMODELING JOB AND WE WANTED OUR CABINETS REFACED. THE FIRST PERSON THAT DID THE JOB, WAS BAD. THE LAMINATE STARTED PEELING OFF AND HAD TO BE REPLACED BY A SECOND EMPLOYEE AND THAT PERSON DID A DECENT JOB. THE QUALITY OF THE PAINTING WAS VERY SLOPPY. THE TIME ESTIMATE WAS 3 WEEKS, BUT THE JOB TOOK ALMOST 3 MONTHS. THEY WERE OVERPRICED AND WE ENDED UP SUB-CONTRACTING OUT JOBS THAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO BECAUSE THERE WERE OBVIOUSLY INCOMPETENCIES.
