Perfect Touch Painting & Powerwashing

After reviewing a number of estimates with painting companies recommended on Angie's List, we selected Jim Grenwis and A Perfect Touch. It was the right choice. We are very pleased with him and the work done through his company. The work was superb; the results are superb. Our house looks significantly better than is has after earlier paint jobs. Wow! What a pleasure to be able to recommend him to others. Work began with careful house washing and serious scraping of failed paint, a lot of failed paint. Their excellent prep work was just what the house needed, and provided a much more secure base for the prime coat and final coat of new colors. With these new colors, the crew took care to make sure there was no streaking or thin areas. Jim and his crew were delightful to work with and were exceedingly considerate and careful, fully cleaning up at the end of every day. He and they not only replaced cracked window panes which we had approved with them, and made small carpentry repairs, but found a terrific carpenter at a reasonable rate to take care of more complex wood repairs and rebuilding for us. Jim's crew were responsible and reliable, too, coming every day like clockwork. If there was a question or concern about something, they or Jim always checked with us. And, when we faced a series of rainy days, they or Jim always made us aware of their plans and even found creative ways to work around the weather. And, at the end of the project and their work, the final bill was realistic and appropriate. We highly recommend Jim Grenwis and A Perfect Touch painting company.

Awesome job under some tough conditions namely trying to get an old multistory house painted iwhen it was continually raining. The quality was great and Jim's crew were all very professional and pleasant.

Jim Grenwis called to schedule an appointment before I got a chance to call him. We played phone tag for several days and he was able to stop by to do the estimate while I was at work. The estimate was higher than the coupon amount because he said my deck required a colored stain and the deck was larger than the size for the Big Deal. Jim scheduled the date to powerwash the deck, but did not keep the appointment. He then called to apologize and to say that he had gotten my house mixed up with another customer and had powerwashed their deck at that time instead of mine. He immediately corrected the situation and powerwashed my deck the next day. I requested that he complete the staining before the end of June because we wanted it done before the July 4th holiday weekend. Even with the many days of rain in May and June and the number of customers who took advantage of the Big Deal, Jim was true to his word and honored my request. He completed the job before the end of June and our guests said how nice the deck looked. (The previous stain had started to chip and the deck was dull and grey.) It was a pleasure to use the deck during the July 4th holiday weekend and summer gatherings. He indicated that the deck might require a 2nd coat and he could do it for an additional charge. He also left the can of stain which he said could be used for any touch ups, but there was not any stain left. After he finished the deck I also asked him to give me a quote on some additional painting on the front of our house around the doors and windows, but I guess he was so busy he never gave us a quote. Overall it was a good experience and I would use Jim again.

We contacted other companies and were pleased with Jim's responsiveness . He answered all our questions and although we were out of town , he completed the work without us being home. We would definitely use him again . Thanks Jim

This was a great experience from the first phone call to the finished product. Called and set up appointment and quote was immediate and it described everything that was to be done. Jim and crew arrived on time everyday, cleaned up everyday and were professional in every way. They even helped remove some ivy on the brick and gave some pointers to help in the future. I have already recommended them to several friends and will not go anywhere else for future painting requirements. Jim should give classes on how to deal with the public for contracting needs. Thanks again for a great job!!!

Great - I bought the Angie's Big Deal for the power-washing and staining ($150) but our deck is larger than the size of the offer. So Jim came out and estimated what it would cost in addition to the Big Deal to wash and paint the deck, stairs and railings. His offer to do the entire deck for $300 and 1/2 the cost of supplies seemed reasonable. It was a bit of a challenge to catch him via phone or email which I attribute to him being so busy with the Big Deals but once we got a date selected, he showed up promptly and washed the deck, he came two days later to paint the deck but it had rained the night before. Since we were headed out of town, he promised it would be painted when we returned 3 days later and it was. It's incredible, it looks like a brand new deck. Overall the experience was well worth the money, Jim did a great job and the price was fair. The next time the deck needs cleaning or painting, I won't even think about doing it myself and just call Jim.

We have been playing phone tag. He quoted me a price and I wasn't really thrilled with it so we are going back and forth on some things. I'm going to use him because I have already paid some money towards it. His estimate was double because my brickyard is apparently a little large than 200 square feet, which I knew it was. I normally do it myself but I wanted to give myself a break and I had no idea how much the price was so I now know why I do it myself.

I called Jim, the owner, asking for an estimate. Came out next day. Submitted the estimate to me via e-mail. When I accepted the estimate, sent me a contract to sign. Due to the weather and he was in the middle of another job, it took a couple of weeks to have all the work done. I wasn't home for the majority of the work but Jim and crew cleaned up after themselves. Great job.

Overall, very well - my only complaint was Jim could do a better job keeping me appraised on when he might start. However, once they started, they worked through until they finished. They didn't try to split my job with someone else. Their price, even with some additional work, was more than $1,000 cheaper than the next bid.

It worked out great. He did a great job, showed up when he said he was, the estimate was accurate, and I had no problems at all.

Jim stopped by and measured my deck, and gave me a very reasonable price for the additional area that wasn't covered by the "Big Deal". He helped move things off the deck and came by the following day to do the pressure wash. He was careful and thorough and the deck looks fantastic.

I was seeing if they did a good job before hiring to do bedrooms and stripping wallpaper in hall. I will hire them to do that also. Very professional. Set up a specific time and date for arrival and completion. Left furniture as it was initially. Pleasant experience.

From estimate to completion, Jim was extremely professional and reliable. His team was friendly, polite and our house looks fantastic. I would recommend Perfect Touch to anyone.

They are very neat, very clean and very polite. They are reasonably priced. He is a good guy. I would recommend him and use him again in the future.

Came when they said they would. Did excellent paint job. A little mix-up on the stain color for the pool deck. But Jim redid the paint. They had the most reasonable estimate. Would hire them again. I have already recommended to my neighbor.

Jim Grenwis, the owner, promptly returned my phone call and set up an appointment for an estimate. He was the first of the 5 contractors I contacted to provide a proposal (within 5 days of my phone call). I was also having my roof replaced along with carpentry work (front porch columns etc.) and Jim worked with me on the dates to start based on the completion of the other work. When the start date was determined Jim and his team arrived to power wash. They were on the job every day thereafter until all the work was completed. I have a large 3 story home. The scraping and priming of the home was done in great detail. I had chosen to have any badly damaged wood replaced. Jim took the time to go over damaged boards, window sills and other areas one by one to discuss replacement versus repair. He is extremely knowledgeable as is everyone on his team. I had a body color, trim and an accent color. The doors were painted a fourth color. Then I had the porches front, back lower and upper done with stain to match. There was no confusion or mix up with the paint/stain process. Jim and his team worked extremely well together. They were all very professional, courteous, friendly and a pleasure to have around the house while all this work was being done. The house looks fantastic and I have received many a compliment from my neighbors. I will definitely use their services in the future.

Although there some delay in getting started (weather), once the work began it was completed quickly. If I did not see the evidence of work having been done on the house at the end of the day, I would not have known that someone had scraped much paint.

Jim worked around another contractor who was doing some gutter work and finished the job on time and as promised. I did have Jim come back as there was a downspout that had been painted to match the house on one side but had been left white on the other. All work was completed per the estimate and the old house looks great thanks to Jim's company.
