+ -1 moreI called in early October requesting service in Mid to late October. They never came so I called again late October and they said it wasn’t snowing yet and they would be out. They never showed so at the end of October beginning of November my wife called and they said they would be out but wouldn’t give a date or time. Here it is November 20th and I just took the Canvas down myself. The Awning is good quality but their service is horrible.
Description of Work: Canvas removed for the winter, cleaned, waterproofed and stored.

+ -1 moreIt took 4 weeks for the representative to get back to us after our initial phone call. After that the service was great. Our awning was completed within 4 weeks of placing the order for the new material. The installers were prompt and answered our questions and made sure everything was to our satisfaction before they left. Other than the initial wait time Ohio Awning did an outstanding job.

+ -1 moreI had purchased black canvass awnings with white trim seven years ago and they were very dirty and had mildew. I called several places but Ohio Awning was the most reasonable and able to do them right away as I did not want to wait until the end of summer. John was my salesman and was very nice and accommodating and went out of his way to make sure I got them cleaned within a week of contacting him. I happened to stop home for lunch and the employee was just finishing up the job. He did an excellent job! He restored the black to looking black and got the mildew out of the white trim and put the sealer on. I was very happy!

+ -1 moreNoticed that fabric was switched with another and they did not tell me about it when we received it. Company made a fuss about receiving an extra penny even though invoice stated the amount due. Fabric was also hot glue gunned together.in some areas instead of stitched. Fabric is properly coated with waterproof sealer so drips rain away from house. Workmen who put up awning did a a good job. Not pleased with the bait and switch tactic.
Description of Work: Made new awning for deck and put up.

+ -1 moreAlthough I was told someone would come out to repair the awning, it was only reattached despite a phone message from Tom saying it would be repaired. My subsequent phone calls have not been returned. At the beginning of the work, I appreciated that Ohio Awning was willing to hold on to the awnings for a couple of weeks until I was able to paint my front porch (they were once rehung before I asked them to be and taken down again without a problem). However, I feel that the subsequent problems have negated my good will and caused a great deal of inconvenience to me and my schedule. Since I cannot afford to replace this awning, I am stuck with what was left to me. I realize that the awnings are older and this rip has compromised their integrity the damage cannot be undone. I insist the awning be at least repaired to the point where the ripping will at least not get any worse. A letter sent to them was never answered.
Description of Work: I had lived in my home for 3 years without any problems with my awnings until I had them cleaned last summer. Though I only wanted the awnings cleaned, I was advised to have them resewn and did so based on this company s professional recommendation. So I was surprised to find the second story awning not correctly rehung, requiring a return visit, and a section of the awning that was not completely resewn. These problems were rectified. Then I personally had to go out on the roof at night during a blizzard because the bottom of the other side of the second story awning was not secured. I had to climb out of the window to stop it from banging against the house. Again, I hadn t had any problems for 3 years with my awnings but within a few months again had to have Ohio Awning come out and reconnect the first story awning (was billed $65). 2 weeks later, the same connection had come loose and the awning was now ripped (apparently because it had been blowing around while I was out of town).

+ -1 moreOver the last 2 years, they have been very unreliable. Not answering voice mails or emails. Voice mail box became full, then I could not leave message. They did a bad job of putting awnings up one year. Other year we wanted to wait until later in summer after house was painted, and they never returned calls, so we never got the awnings up. We have since then found another company to put our awnings up.

+ -1 moreTHEIR INSTALLERS AND STORAGE PERSONNEL CANT READ-LOST MY AWNING AND INSTALLED IT 6 WEEKS LATER. THE ORIGINAL COST OF THE WORK WAS SUPPOSED TO BE $80 OR $90 BUT THEY ACCEPTED MY OFFER OF $50 SINCE THEY WERE LATE. THERE WAS NO WRITTEN CONTRACT HOWEVER. THE WORK IS GOOD AND I WILL GO BACK TO THEM.
