I signed a contract with Northeast Lawns for snow removal any time there was more than 2" snowfall. This past winter, there were only 7 snowfalls of 2" or more. And of those 7 occasions, Darin only showed up to plow 3 times. And he did a shoddy job, leaving much snow on the apron of the driveway (and no, that wasn't due to city plows, I saw the snow left there as he was pulling out, but he refused to acknowledge my attempt to wave him back and failed to return phone calls). The heaviest snowfall Darin did not show up at all, despite knowing that I had torn rotator cuff and could not dig myself out. When I called, he claimed his truck had broken down. REALLY? You've had 8 months to get the truck ready for the plowing season and the first time you are needed you claim truck problems? Very unprofessional. Darin consistently failed to return phone calls. At one point when I called, he answered the phone, realized it was a customer and hung up, and when I immediately called back, I got the answering machine stating there was a problem with the truck. Time after time, Darin failed to show up and when I called and left messages that there was indeed more than 2" of snow and I needed the driveway plowed, he failed to return the call. In fact, the last time he did show up was the day I paid the second half of the money due. He never showed up after that for the 3 subsequent >2" snowfalls. I am warning EVERYONE: DO NOT TRUST THIS JERK. He is more than happy to take your money, but you will never receive the service for which you have paid.
Description of Work: The service which was contracted for was snow removal. Contract reads "Plowing will occur one time before 7:00 a.m. and one time before 6:00 p.m. If there is not two inches of fresh snowfall two hours prior to stated times, driveways will be plowed before next stated time. Very heavy snowfall can delay this process." In this ridiculously LIGHT snowfall winter, this contract was not honoured. There were only 7 occasions when there was 2" or more of snow this winter. Darin showed up only 3 of the 7 times, did not completely clear the apron, and did not completely clear the driveway to his markers (which he placed). He did a very shoddy job.
