I was unsatisfied with the woman who answers the phone and her lack of response. Marty said he ordered the parts when I spoke to him, I told him it was a very bad week and then was unable to reschedule since I couldn't get a hold of them. I have since had another company come out who has taken care of the issue.

After not hearing anything from them at about 20 minutes until 4pm, I called, and they told me that he was out in one of the suburbs, and would still be coming. He never came to my house, and I was sitting here waiting here for him all day. I never received any phone calls explaining why he didn't come or anything.
Description of Work: I called them Tuesday morning, explained what my problem was. I needed my ignitors on my stove-top re-lit. The guy I talked to said that they would send Marty out between noon and 4pm on Tuesday. She also said that before he comes, in that time period, he would call 20 minutes before he got here saying that he would be on his way.

Arrived on time. Nice, Friendly service. Would use again. I think my temperature sensor may still be a problem, as signal indicates oven is preheated, when it is not. He did not check this, just assumed the igniter was bad because he sees that most often.

They did a very good job. He came out quickly. He gives a fair estimate. When he came out for the estimate he charged us but subtracted that off the bill when he came back to fix it. He does not charge a lot and he does great work. We have been really happy with this company.

My experience with the warranty company left much to be desired, but that is another story. I was very pleased with Metro. Richard contacted me within 20 minutes of my hanging up with the warranty company, and got a repair person out within 4 hours. Marty, the repair person, was very thorough, and checked every part in my dryer to confirm that the timer was the problem, and that it was the only problem. I was told that it would take two days for them to get the part (remember, this was for a 20-year-old dryer, so I did not expect them to have it in stock). Richard called the second day to tell me that the tracking number showed it would be delivered later that afternoon, and he scheduled repair for the next morning. I was very pleased with Metro's responsiveness and professionalism., and would use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced timer on 20-year-old dryer. The seller of the home we bought three months ago had purchased a home warranty, which supposedly covers various repairs of appliances, etc., for a one-year period. Under the terms of the warranty, we cannot choose a repair contractor; rather, the warranty company contacts one from their list, who then is in touch to schedule repair. (Please note that the cost to me was a $100 fee specified by the terms of the warranty. If I had not had a warranty, I understand cost for a service call is $40 + tax, and then the additional cost would have been approximately $156--cost of the replacement part plus installation labor).

In response to Member's comment about the sensor, the oven preheat light comes on when the thermostat probe reads an aproximate temperature setting like an average temp like 350, when this temperature is reached the light comes on, All ovens need time like 15 minutes of constant temperatures to attain proper preheating. And yes ignitors are a very common repair in any gas oven more often in ovens that are used twice daily. Thank you richard at Mars.

They came out within a few days of when we called. The work was done efficiently and they cleaned up afterwards.
Description of Work: MARS (Metro Appliance Repair Service) replaced the heating element in our electric clothes dryer and replaced the exhaust pipe (replacing a plastic one with an all metal one). The work went very well. We have used the same folks in the past and have always been happy with them. They have operated under different names (AAAstro & Tiger). The phone number has stayed the same however, so we keep calling them. We've used them for repairs on electric oven, refrigerator and washer as well.
