McGonigle Plastering

We are doing a complete kitchen tear out and adding a breakfast bar in the dining room. This required all new lighting and removing of the existing soffits as well as extensive patching of the existing ceiling. I am very good at hanging and finishing drywall, but for the finish texture on the ceiling (1100 sq. ft.), I hire professionals. Neil is a true professional, beyond that he is an old school craftsman and artist. He handles his business on a handshake and accepts no payment until the job is done. He explains the process thoroughly and completely, and fully stands behind his work. He finished my job on a Friday and needed to come back and correct one small area, he was back the following Thursday to make the repair. Neil and Kevin were a delight to get to know and work with and have my highest recommendation.

We had plaster repair for a ceiling in a bedroom, kitchen, wall in a hallway and basement. Neil was great a communicating with us about timing of job and during job. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy and detailed. We are very happy with his work. This is the second time we have hired him. And would happily hire him again if needed.

Neil is a true artist. His work ethics are fantastic. He is very honest, hard working, and personable. My kitchen ceiling was full of holes and patches and a beam had been removed. He had told us no problem that he could fix it all and we wouldn't see any flaws. Sure enough, now that it is primed and painted it looks great. So happy we hired Neil. He provided an estimate and key guidance. Neil quoted me exactly the same price that was quoted by the plasterer who gave me the first estimate (this plasterer also comes highly recommended on A-List, so I decided that out of fairness, I would give the job to the first plasterer). Anyway, Neal gave me lots of his time and valuable input. Also, I would hire him based simply on the sound of his voice, a marvelous authentic Irish brogue. I subsequently recommended Neil to a friend, the friend hired Neal, he completed the work, and the friend was hugely satisfied and impressed with Neil's craftsmanship, professionalism and pricing.

I actually got a drywall, a plaster guy off of Angie's List, and he was superb. He was absolutely, his reviews were great, this guy was awesome. He's the type of guy where you could feature him, he'd be somebody you'd want to feature. His business is called McGonigle Plastering. They do drywall, plaster work, ceiling, walls and exterior stucco. He was unbelievably fantastic. Exceeded expectations in every way. Very high quality, very prompt, very professional, great pricing. He's the type of guy you go to Angie's List to find. I mean he was solid. He is from Ireland and he has been here about, I don't know, maybe 10 years, fifteen years. I called him on St. Patty's Day and he answered. He came out and did a two day job on Monday and Tuesday. He answered the call and came out the following day and worked two straight days. He was here the 20th of March 2017. It was $900. I would nominate him for a super service award. Absolutely fantastic.

Neil M. is outstanding and hearkens back to the days of true, professional craftsmen. On a scale of 1-10, he's an 11.

It was great. Neil came in and did the job in the time he said it would take. He was very up front on what would need to be done and what the job would take to complete. He was always courteous and cleaned up each day. I would highly recommend him to others.

He was great. He was full of ideas, did a great job, and was very helpful. He really knew what he was doing; I can't say enough good things about him.

I had a textured ceiling in my living room which had developed a network of cracks and looked unsightly. I sanded the uneven areas down to look flat. Neil repaired and retextured the effected areas of the ceiling to match the original pattern. I asked him to stop back out to pick up a few areas that had small feather-line cracks. He came back quickly and finished the job to my satisfaction. His work looked really good and blended in nicely once it was repainted. Neil is excellent to work with. He is extremely professional and helpful with suggestions. He has that old school work ethic, and you could tell he enjoys his work and has pride in getting things done the right way. It was very stress-free dealing with Neil. He definitely went way above and beyond what you would expect from a typical contractor. I will always call him from now on with all my plastering needs. If you chose Neil, you will be happy you did.

They were great. Always on time. Very professional. The work was completed as contracted and the stucco work was superior. It is tough to find professionals with experience in stucco repair even with Angie's List and Neil McGonigle the owner went out of his way to make sure what I wanted and then exceeded my expectations.

Neil did a very nice job with our plaster work--which was not an easy task. The ceiling has a unique sculpted plaster design. He got the job done efficiently. He set up a meeting with me very soon after I first called and the job was completed within 4 weeks of out meeting.

Neil was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely professional, explained the options we had for fixing the wall, gave us a competitive quote and completed the work in a clean and timely fashion. Excellent work. Showed up on time, got quote, and was able to get the work completed within a week. The house needing repaired was vacant (up for sale), and Neil was nice enough to get keys from our neighbor, complete the work, and lock everything back up since we live an hour away. He's from Europe, so he's a plasterer, not just a drywall guy, but he can do both.

Neil is plaster specialist, and will do any plaster job right. Its a bit of black art, so I really recommend getting someone llke Neil who is good. I actually found Neil through service magic, after hitting dead ends with couple of contractors. My two story entry way was big job, and I was recommended by serveral to bring down and put of dry wall (for three times the price!). Neil's quote came in and competively with co-workers recommendation, who ended up being too busy to take my job. When Neil did this job, I was having my floors refinished by someone else, some windows put in, and number of small projects. I was dealing with a lot of contractors, and by and far, Neil shined above the rest. He was on time, he did what he said he would do, he was very straightforward easy to work with regarding the payment, he's chatty and in my book extremely likable. I enjoyed his personality so much, that I was sad to see the job end. He's just great. It's been a year now, and my walls still look great. Highly recommended!

I found Neil on Angie's List after having a number of people come out to give me an estimate. Out of the 4 people who come out originally, only one gave me a quote and it was a very high number that would take a couple of weeks to complete. Neil came out, took a look at the walls and gave me a very fair estimate. Work was started about 2 weeks later and was finished in 3 days. The quality of work was outstanding and we couldn't be happier. He made sure everything was cleaned up after he left each day and there was very little dust even though he had to do some extensive sanding. Will defiantly use again for some exterior stucco work and some more interior work.

I discovered Mr. McConigle through Angie's List but also viewed his web-site. While I have hired another competent plasterer, I learned that Mr. McConigle seems to be accomplished in all forms of plaster work. His website is very informative and Mr. McConigle has very good advice. I first contacted him through an e-mail and although I was difficult to reach by phone, he persisted and we finally were able to connect. He visited my home, measured and discussed materials and labor techniques. He e-mailed a competitive estimate. He is knowledgeable and pleasant.

The owner came 10 days after the first call. He came on a Saturday as permitted by my work schedule. He arrived on time, explained in detail what needed to be done. He gave me the price which I agreed to and was able to do the work that morning. The job took about 2 and a half hours. I am very satisfied with the work and time frame. The whole experience was done very professionally.

He did an excellent job and I am very happy with the results. He is an expert at creating satin smooth plaster walls.
