It was $375 for the inside snake. They did give me a discount of 10 percent because the week before they were scheduled to do the job their equipment broke down so they gave me a discount for the inconvenience. They did a good job and I wasn't disappointed in them. My cousin does some plumbing and he came and had them do a couple of extra things because he felt they were things they should have done and they did do it. So far I am satisfied. They did do a couple of dumb things such as the inexperienced kid forgot a saw and had to go back and get it. I was overall satisfied. They were able to save my sidewalk, which I was glad about. I was satisfied with the price and they were fair about it. They are not cheap but I think they were cheaper than other people but I didn’t get any other estimates. A couple of other people recommended them. I think I would use them again.

Company was on time called 1/2 hr before - Tech was very knowledgeable, personal and professional in speech & dress.

I do not remember how much I paid for the service, but I remember it was reasonable. I have not had any problems since they came out. I use them because they're conveniently located near my home, easy to schedule appointments with, show up on time, are respectful of my home and myself, and they perform great professional work.

I told them what I thought was needed to be done and they said that was not quite that needs to be done and told me exactly what was needed to be done. Instead of three projects, they ended up doing one. They could have charged me more but they didn't. We had a shower head that was that was not fitting properly and they identified what the problem was. It was actually the manufacturer's defect and they recommended that I contact the manufacturer. They did a little extra work and did not charge me for that. So, I was very pleased with them. They are very polite, punctual and they deliver the service.

From the reports I read on Angie's List, a similar job should have cost around $119. This was part of the reason why I chose Mayer Plumbing. When the technician came to my home, he quoted a price of $199 plus $59 travel charge. At that time I told him a similar job according to the reports was $119. He called his supervisor and then the price became $119. He proceeded to do the job in about 15 minutes. I felt the work that needed to be completed in my case was easier than the other jobs I read from him on Angie's List. My stud was replaced with a new stud which just screwed into the flange. It did not need to be drilled out and re-tapped.

They were scheduled on the morning of 6/30/11 but could not come until later in the afternoon. Because my fiance had to go to work in the afternoon, I had to cancel my afternoon appointments at my work and rush home to be there. My fiance had expressed his displeasure to the receptionist at the inconvenience. The workers arrived and replaced the utility tub and faucet. I had purchased the new tub and faucet. The charge of $380 was for the labor. They were there for about 2 hours.

I called two companies for estimates. Mayer quoted the lower price and had a great coupon! They did not show up on the day scheduled but called with apologies and rescheduled for the next day. They also compensated financially for the tardiness. The job was done quickly and in a very professional manner.

The bill was around $6,000 but in the end it didn't cost me anything because it was covered by insurance. They were fabulous. The quality of work was wonderful. I would use them again.

The Mayer truck pulled up right on time, the work was completed expeditiously and completely and clean up was excellent. I was very pleased by the service and the product. The one issue I have is that when he tightened the kitchen faucet down, it was slightly misaligned with our second sink. That translates into having to use the spray head to wash dishes in the right hand sink but since the kitchen was designed for left-handers originally, there weren't many other options.

Excellent. He was very knowledgeable, gave some good advice regarding what not to put into drains and toilets. He even told us the part to get from Home Depot (cap for the outside drain) to save me some money. I would recommend him and Mayer. They were timely, professional and very pleasant.

We had called Moen in advance to get the parts that they told us we needed. When Mayer plumbing arrived, there were pieces missing. Called Moen again, they sent out a replacement faucet as the existing one had been reconfigured. Mayer came out again, only to find that there were parts missing from the NEW faucet. More parts,; missing parts. Mayer fixed the old faucet by combining pieces from different orders. Mayer was very fair about the price charged given the circumstances beyond the control of them or of us. We will call them to install another replacement faucet.

We have no chimney (originally an all exectric home). We have used Mayer Plumbing for years, (since the 1990's) for all types of plumbing work. Small fixes, toilet repair, ect. They have always responded quickly to our calles for estimates. Estimates are detailed, and clearly explained. With this job, their estimate was in range of the other ones I got. but a bit higher, given they detailed the extra construction requried. They provide multiple options and pricing, based on our requirements for the number of adults in the house and our hot water usage, including tankless options which I was interested in. In the end, due to the very high cost of tankless options, we went with the power vent 50 gallon option. The schedled the work, and as always were on time, completed the job as planned, and were very considerate of our home. Cleaned up completly. Three weeks later, we smelled gas, and called them back. They responded to the call within 20 minutes, and were at our home in less than an hour. Repaired the leak at no cost to us. OVerall we choose Mayer plumbing for the quality of their work, the fair price for services provided, their profesionalism, and that they stand by their work. Small or large.

I had an appointment for an estimate for some plumbing work. On the scheduled day, the repairman was a no show and did not call to reschedule.

(Note: Please read update at bottom) The Problem: The toilet was leaking water around the base. I lifted it off and found that metal flange that holds the toilet to floor was totally corroded, including the screws holding it in place. I called Mayer Plumbing to get an estimate to fix the problem. An estimator named Jason showed up on Tuesday, April 12. Jason said that it would be necessary to replace the entire piece of PVC that the metal flange was attached to. He wrote that on the estimate: “replace the 3-in. PVC flange.” He said it would involve going into the basement, cutting an attached piece of PVC drain pipe with a saw, and then gluing new pieces of PVC in place. He said that the total cost would be $249 and wrote that figure down on the estimate. He also wrote that the price included parts and labor. I had a $50 coupon from the Angie’s List web site for Mayer Plumbing and I asked Jason if they would accept that. He said yes. So I confirmed that I would only end up paying $199 with the coupon. He said yes. I asked him if he wanted coupon then. He said, no, give it to technician with the check after the job was done. Now this is where it gets weird. On Thursday, April 14, the technician, named Cliff, arrives and surveys the job. He says only the metal flange needs replacing, and he has no idea why the estimator said replacing PVC was necessary. Cliff said he could replace the corroded metal flange from bathroom without having to go into the basement. He said there was no need to replace any PVC anywhere. All existing PVC would remain in place, that it was in good shape. Since the work he described was significantly less than what I was originally told would be required, I asked him if this would change the price, given that the scope of the job was much smaller than I was told. He said he would call and discuss with office. After he discussed it with his office, the technician gave me a new price: $209. But when I asked him about the Angie’s List coupon, he said he would not accept it because I was getting a “discount.” So, the bottom line is that the job was much less complicated than originally suggested, but I ended up paying $10 more than expected because the $50 Angie's List coupon was not accepted. The technician assured me I was paying a fair price for the work performed, but I have no way of knowing for sure given the confusing way the situation was handled. This is a very peculiar way of doing business in my view. It does not seem that the estimators and the technicians are on the same page, which is not what you want when dealing with a contractor. The people at the company are all very nice and polite, and the technician appears to have done a decent job with the repair, but I cannot recommend a company with such peculiar business practices. Update: May 4, 2011 I am updating this report as a result of subsequent interaction with the contractor. The manager called and apologized for the confusion. He said I was charged the wrong price and that the Angie's List coupon should have been accepted regardless of the price. He subsequently sent me a refund check for $90 to reflect proper pricing and coupon acceptance, and I am satisfied with the outcome. As a result, I am changing my original cost figure from $209 to $119 and also changing the grades for overall experience and pricing to a B from a C. Even though the situation has been resolved to my satisfaction, I still cannot give them an A, because I feel that with an A level contractor these things don't happen to begin with. But they did make things right in the end.

I called and was scheduled for the following day. I was given a call 15 min before the service person arrived (towards the front of my 2 hour window) and he arrived as expected. He was pleasant to talk with, willing to answer questions, and tried a handful of no cost solutions (none of which I was charged for). Once eliminating other options the toilet was removed, and a toothbrush was removed, as well as several handfuls of undesired obstruction. Cleaned up the area, and was done in a total of an hour.

My son called him on a Friday night after he got home from work and discovered the problem. Mr Mayer told him what to turn off and came first thing Saturday morning with the correct parts and completed the job promptly.

It was two separate calls. I had previously worked with them and it went well enough. The speed that they came out and the cost stood out to me. They had integrity. It took a couple of calls to get the heater to work out where it was on the heating side of the house. Because I had been a previous customer they gave me a break on the billing.

Mayer Plumbing arrived on time. Did very careful work. The job was completed to my entire satisfaction

He was there 10 minutes, saw the problem, got a new part, repaired the pipe. Wore booties on his shoes so the carpet stayed clean. Very nice guy and I was happy it was a simple fix!

They came the day after they were called, gave an estimate, and performed the work on the same day. Very pleasent and professional, I highly recomend them.

The service went very well. I would recommend them. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They explained what needed to be done. They gave an accurate quote. They also followed up twice to make sure that the job had been done right.

They did a good job and they were on time.

We had dampness at the bottom of one wall in the basement and suspected a clogged footer drain. The company snaked a camera through the drain and discovered a separation in the tiles, which necessitated excavating the front of the house. They were able to begin work the next day! They carefully removed the existing plants in the front garden for later replanting, and were careful not to damage the lawn with their heavy equipment. The tile damage was more extensive than originally estimated and all of the drain tile had to be replaced. The work was completed in 3 days, including replanting the front garden and reseeding the lawn. The workers were very friendly and knowledgeable. We are extremely satisfied with the work performed and would not hesitate to utilize their services again!!
