Mayer Plumbing & Heating

Called this morning and Brian arrived at 3pm. Very courteous and professional. Augered the pipes for kitchen sink/dishwasher and stationary tubs in the basement. Provided us with some helpful tips for keeping the drains flowing. Great experience again.

Called Mayer plumbing for footer tiles camera inspection just to make sure that there are not clogged. One guy from Mayer Plumbing came and said that I should go for it as I never had them checked. There was a different company name on the truck. He explained me that Mayer plumbing bought several companies and they use their trucks. We had downspouts sneaked couple of years ago and they were fine. When he started the work he knew that there is only one clean out for the footer tiles in this house. He was able to inspect one side of the house and about 6-8 feet(of total length about 50 feet that side) on other side on which side I wanted to check for past moisture patches on the wall. He says that he couldn't pass the camera beyond that. He says that it is difficult to push the camera beyond two bends. From that time he did spent time to locate for main clean out at the front of the house, he dug the lawn couple of places and broke sidewalk guard one place which I installed couple of weeks ago. He also spent time to inspect downspouts which was not necessary for me. I called Jason(the owner) on the same day and explained him that some thing is wrong on their part for not able to pass the camera when there was no obstruction. They wanted me to pay as they spent time at my house. I did pay them and wasted my money for their incompetent work. I called different plumber for the same service after couple of weeks. They came and passed their camera without any difficulty in 20 mins. They could not understand why Mayer plumbing could not pass the camera when there was no obstruction. I called Mayer plumbing again couple of times to reach Jason to inform him about this. Jason never called me back to discuss this. The operator says we can't help for this at this time. At the end of the day, work was not completed to my satisfaction, my lawn was damaged in some places leaving grey areas , I have to replace the sidewalk guard they broke. I would not recommend Mayer plumbing for camera inspection service for above reason.

It was a simple job that had not been done well in the past. It took more time than I had anticipated but I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Very cordial, had all parts, replaced valves and repacked valves, check for leaks, no issues what so ever, very nice to work with.

The employee got the problem and me up and showering in about an hour. I was very pleased with the overall experience. And I would use them again if need be. (I hope I don't need be)

This drain has been a problem for a long time. Draino didn't cut it. It finally became completely clogged. He ran a snake, but it wasn't big enough. So, he brought out his big gun, and down it went. GREAT JOB!

Called and plumber arrived promptly as scheduled. Very professional to deal with when setting up the appointment and provided additional helpful information. We also received a $50 coupon because we are on Angies list.

The problem started with the water not draining below the utility sink. We called Mayer letting them know that we have a blocked drain. They quoted for snaking the drain below the utility sink after a person inspected the problem. After we agreed on the rate per hour they came back and snaked the drain. However, they were not successful in getting the water to flow after the snaking since the blockage was somewhere else. They checked the mains but could not snake it since they did not have larger equipment. They came back with the larger equipment in a couple of hours and snaked the main line which was in the garage. They were able to snake it for quite a few feet but then it got stuck below the driveway and were not able to break through. At this point they feared that the drain was blocked and maybe could have collapsed due to the roots of the big trees near the driveway. We then called the plumbers that worked for the city of Twinsburg to see if the problem was with the main sewer line. They checked and did not find problems with the sewer. The city plumbers and Mayer then inserted cameras into the drain from the two ends and found the problem to be in the middle of the drain. Mayer used even a larger snake and was then able to successfully unclog the drain. The city also dug up and replaced the concrete pipe with PVC pipe on their section of responsibility on the property. The people from Mayer worked diligently, patiently worked through the problem and were able to unclog the drain without having to dig up the driveway. Their rates were reasonable and saved me a bunch of potential costs. They worked collaboratively with the City of Twinsburg plumbers.tin

The saddest part about it that up until last year I was a loyal patron of this company. Heck, I even referred them to many friends! My family had been using their services for years, too. However, their customer service involving two incidents was horrible. The first one happened when I had a scheduled appointment to install a new hot water heater. They arrived over 4 hours after they said they would & never called to update me on the status arrival. I do completely understand that emergency calls for plumbing are a regular happening, but at least have the manners to have someone from the office call to update a customer!!! I had friends from out of town coming in for a sporting event & I almost missed out because I was waiting around for them to show. Just ridiculous. Despite getting burned once, I decided to give them one more chance because my family has been using them for so long. I called to schedule a air conditioning tune up & to have a pipe insulated in my garage. After an hour past the appointment time had passed I called the office to check the status of the technician. The lady in the office told me to hold while she inquired. She then told me that they would not be coming out today because the weather was too cold to perform an accurate air conditioning unit check. Yes, it was a little colder than previous days that week, but couldn't they had called me in the morning to tell me I had to reschedule??? What am I, a mind reader??? So instead, I wasted time, once again, waiting for them. The lady at the office then asked if I wanted to reschedule for another time & she mentioned that they have flexible weekend appointments. I know she was just trying to smooth things over now because she sensed the disgust in the tone of my voice. However, I told her that I did not want to waste my weekend waiting around for them to maybe show. I hung up, promptly called the competitor - Benjamin Franklin & was very happy with their service!

The personnel arrived on time with the surface mount toilet. They worked without break until it was finished only taking time to gather a piece of plumbing to cut into the main soil stack from their warehouse. They did a surperb job with the electrical wiring. Finished what I considered a major improvement in less than 5 hrs.

I called about a plugged kitchen sink drain early in the morning and was given an appointment for later that same morning. John was very professional, friendly, and pleasant. He kept me well-informed of the prices and the process. He took the time to answer all my questions and told me his recommendations. John seemed very competent and experienced and finished the job quickly. I was pleased with the service and I wouldn't hesitate to use the service again.

They were very punctual and very professional. They perform high quality work and are a very dependable company.

We have used them for years. For simple jobs like your standard plumbing, air-conditioning, heating, etc they are quite good. We ran into consistent problems, and they did come back to fix it. Especially with the sub contracting like repairing the concrete, I ran into a lot of a difficulties especially communicating with the owner of the company. When I got hold of the owner, he did fix things. He did to the best of his ability and it was long and costly for me as far as the work time. In fact they are the ones that installed the tankless water heater. When it started failing in less than a year they went through all the instructions on that one, and told I need a dedicated line. One guy would tell me one thing and one would tell me other. They did finally work with the manufacturer step by step and they even installed a larger gas line which manufacturer said it was required when they should have installed it. It was long and incredibly frustrating. It wasn’t new to them. I know it did cost them a lot to remediate exactly everything. The receptionist was really good and she recognized my voice. I have a maintenance contract with them, so I would use them again in the future. They do price considerations when I have to do certain things, but if I have to do $5000 I would give a real thought.

They are excellent. They are very professional and were prompt in completing this service. I would also like to add that they have a thorough understanding old houses. I have a very old house and the drains can't just be snaked. They knew exactly what to do. I highly recommend this company.

Called around 5PM on Thursday and got an appointment for Friday morning. Cliff and Eric showed up and got right to work. They ran around 80 feet of snake into the drain and were able to clear out the obstructions. Did not recommend up-charging us for camera exploration unless future problems arise. Both were courteous and helpful. Definitely will use them again for some future plumbing work (relocating our kitchen). We also got $50 off via Angie's List!!

The guy started out good, but before they replaced any of the lines in the basement he pulled the toilet out and it caused water to leak all over the basement. He also didn't cut the caulking around the toilet and it caused the tile around the toilet to break. I wouldn't use them again.

I had a leak in the wax ring of my toilet on a second floor bathroom. They removed the toilet and installed a new wax ring and reinstalled the toilet and gave me a guarantee that it would not leak again. I was very happy with their service and it gave me peace of mind. They were very professional and courteous. I was getting ready to sell the house so it was important for me that everything would be done right and without any problems. They did their job and corrected the problem.

I contacted the county regarding the damaged drain pipe and the county identified that the part of the pipe that needed replacing was their responsibility. They gave me a quote for repairs that were not my responibility. I had used their services twice before and had minor problems both other times as well.

When the gentleman came out to check on the work needed to be done, he told me that the part of the drain that needed to be replaced was all one piece and it would cost me $479.00. This was the only cost he mentioned to me to I agreed to have the work performed. Unfortunately, he didn't have the part he needed in his van so he scheduled an appointment for me for the following day. The next day, a different gentleman along with a helper arrived. They wore booties on their shoes and were considerate of my requests to keep the doors closed to prevent the cats from running out of the house. After about an hours worth of work, the gentleman called the Mayer Heating and Plumbing company to get the cost of the job. This is when he told me that it would be $479.00 for the part, and $58.00 for a service call and since I had the Angies list coupon, I was able to subtract $50.00 from that total. After telling the guy that I was told $479.00 for the job without the mention of any other prices, they agreed to just give me the first quoted price of $479.00 which was the cheapest price overall, even with using the coupon. I was pretty happy with that and paid them $480.00 in cash.

They were fine. They pointed out where the traps were causing the smell and fixed it. They were good. I rate them high overall. I will absolutely use them in the future if needed.

I arrived home on a Friday night after 5 pm to find the hot water valve on the pipe in my basement spewing water all over the basement. I shut of the water supply and contacted Meyer Plumbing and Heating from Angies List. They answered immediately and said that they could have a service person out by 7 pm. I was told that it was after hours and the cost would be an $89 service charge plus $225 per hour as it was past 5 pm. (I paused, but needed to get the pipe fixed now so I agreed.) The service man arrived, covered his shoes with a plastic cover to not dirty the house and evaluated the problem. He told me what he would do and proceeded to replace the valve. He was excellent, professional, and completed the job in about 30 minutes.) He gave me the $50 discount as stated on Angies List and he departed. Other than the very expensive after 5 pm pricing I though the company and the service man was excellent.

Overall, it has been the worst experience of my life. They gave me an estimate, then took it back to re-word it and then never returend it. They told me tehy ran into complications but never gavem e a revised estimate. They started the work on a Friday, and told me I could use my toilet but not to flush it and they would be back at 7:30 the next morning. THey didn't show up until 9 to get my toilet up and running. Then Monday and Tuesday, they left my yard looking like a war zone. The only redeption of this whole entire job is they did come out to fix the yard, and did a great job atthat. THey also fixed the concrete that was dumped odwn my utility sink, and cleaned dust off of my antiques. They did not haev a permit to dig inside my house. THey fixed the concrete in my basement but left all of my furniture shoved in a corner. The invoice they presented was $3200 over the initial estimate, and all along I was never advised of this increase. They left a gaping hole in my sidewalk with a cone, and after I begged them repeatedly they came out to fill the hole with gravel so no one will get hurt. I don't want them in my home to repair my furniture, but at this point I just want them to come back to fix the cracked sidewalk. I had to contact a building commissioner to discuss the repair with this company, but am being blown off in all directions from Mayer Plumbing.

This is the second time we have used Mayer Plumbing. The plumber was there less than one hour, installed a standard (not fancy) stainless sink and changed out the outdoor spigot. I felt he took advantage of us regarding the price. While he did a satisfactory job, I will not be using Mayer again.
