Mayer Plumbing & Heating

We woke up to our expansion tank spraying water all over the basement. We were referred to Mayer Plumbing and they not only could come out in the same day they had all the parts needed to handle our job. Within 5 hours of calling for help our new hot water tank was replaced and completed. It was wonderful working with them. They ended coming out a week later to replace some copper piping that was installed wrong by the previous owner of our home. We are also looking to gut and replace our master bath and they will be the first ones we call.

Plumbers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Very prompt service that did not take up too much of my time.

"Although I normally do my own plumbing, this particular style of kitchen faucet gave me problems on removing the "quick" connection to the wand. The tech had it removed in short order and installed the new faucet. But it appeared in closing off the hot and cold water feeds the valves were old and the seat were deteriorated. The tech. replaced the cold water and we thought all was OK. The next day the water flow became so slow, there was no pressure. I called and arranged for another call. The tech. came out the same day, in the evening. He saw that the hot water feed also needed to be replace and did so in short order. But the faucet was clogged with parts of the old faucets seats. He spent considerable time, taking the Moen faucet apart and flowing water to flush out the system. After that the full flow was returned and had worked very well since. Even though I had to have two calls that weren't the fault of the installers, I now am well satisfied with the replacement of the kitchen faucet and replacement of better feed valves. The techs were very professional and helpful. I will used this service again.

The plumber assessed the situation and advised me what he would do and the cost to repair the plumbing problems. He was very professional and completed the work as promised.

Repair person showed up at the exact time he said. Very knowledgable, very polite. We had a garbage disposal that was leaking. He replaced it quickly and efficiently. He drained our sludge-filled hot water tank for no charge....since he was here (they had installed it a couple years ago). Would highly recommend them. We purchased a coupon on Angie's List that saved $50 off the price.

I called and they were able to get someone out first thing the next morning to perform the work. They were on time, courteous and gave me options for service. The guys explained what would happen if they did nothing, bare minimum and recommended course of action. They were conscious that I had tenants in the apartments and let me know what to tell them to expect while service was going on. They cleaned up when they were finished and labeled the pipes on the way out for easy identification in the future. This is all standard for my dealings with Mayer and I would recommend them.

Provider came very next day after we called to ensure problem was fixed for holidays. When we had question after they had left came right back to ensure we were totally satisfied. Job was done in a professional manner and they cleaned up after themselves. This is the second time we have used them and we are extremely happy with their level of service and will recommend them to our friends.

It went very well, they replaced the faucet, the p trap and the bushing into the walls. They arrived in a timely manner and were finished in about an hour and a half. The workers wore booties and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased.

Jesse was excellent in all phases of the job. Very professional. Will request him in the future...

I Purchased a plumbing coupon from Mayer Plumbing, for the repair of a shower faucet that would only allow hot water to come out, but not cold water. When Brandon the first repair guy arrived on 11/11, he assessed the situation and told me I needed to replace the cartridge in the faucet. However, after further lengthy examination, I was informed I did not need a cartridge, but a diverter. Now mind you, this repair just took a quantum leap from the $149.00 coupon price to $684.00 :-(. In addition to the added plumbing expense, Brandon informed me that in order to install the diverter he would have to cut a hold in the wall of the adjoining room to access the pipes. You can now imagine, the horror on my face when I've just realized $684.00 has potentially turned into $800-$1,000. Now to be fair, this has nothing to do with Mayer, it is just the situation at hand. In order to get the faucet repaired, this is what needed to be done. So Teresa, the lovely women that she is, at the office, scheduled a more experienced plumber to come out the next day and assess the problem again, and begin the demolition, if necessary. Hooray!!!!!! Roger "MY Hero" to the rescue :-) :-) :-) After spending some time troubleshooting, and endlessly running back and forth, up and down two flights of stairs to turn the water on and off, Roger figured it out!!!!! There is definitely something to be said for experience, and many, many years working in your profession. I could see that Roger was adamant about doing everything he knew how, to keep us from having to tear a hold in our drywall and deal with that expense! In the end, the shower faucet works great, my coupon cost covered the repair, and I have no hole in my wall!! From Teresa, making sure there was an experienced serviceman available for me ASAP, not to mention, being an absolute joy to speak with on the telephone, to Roger, "My savior", coming through and saving the day. I will ALWAYS rely on Mayer for my household plumbing needs. Thank you all for your service, professionalism, and your integrity. It gives customers hope, that there are service providers out there who are fair, honorable, and trustworthy!!!

Brandon arrived promptly and assessed the situation and gave me a quote of $305..00, $246 to snake the drain and 59.00 for service call. I did not have an Angies List coupon when I called this morning, but had used Mayers a couple of times in the past. Once we cleaned out below the sink and Brandon got started, it was approximately one half hour to completion. While he was working, I checked Angie's List and discovered a coupon for drain cleaning (one drain) for $158.00. While I realized it was too late to utilize this coupon, what caught my eye was the value was $176.00. I called the office and spoke with Theresa, inquiring why I was being quoted $246.00 when it was stated on Angie's List as a $176.00 value. She indicated she would look into it and call me back. Shortly thereafter she called Brandon on his mobile and spoke with him and then called me. She said they would waive the $59.00 service call but, since I had used Draino in the line prior to calling them, there was a chance he would be burned by the chemical so they would not reduce the fee for cleaning the drain. I went back and checked the Angie's List "Deal" once again and could find nothing that indicated the charge would be $70.00 higher if you used a DIY cleaning solvent. Brandon had also indicated that Draino weakens the pipes and could cause him to put a hole through them in the process of snaking the line. I then checked the Draino bottle and it very clearly states "safe on metal & plastic pipes!" I don't know what a consumer is supposed to do, but the bottom line is they, themselves, valued this service at $176.00 and I was charged $246. It's unfortunate , because I have been very happy with their service and pricing in the past, but I will not use them again!

This was one of the AL Deals that I took advantage of. I had a little difficulty initially getting in touch with them (had to call a couple of times) but once that was cleared up everything went fine. The guy arrived on time. I was little concerned when he said that he hadn't installed a heat-pump type water heater before but he took a quick look at the install instructions and it went in without any problems. He had it all installed and running within a couple of hours. He had one of his co-workers stop by to help him remove the old heater from the basement.

It went well. He had to do some extra work and I have no complaints.

I will never deal with Mayer Plumbing again because of the work described below. I am getting old and having a hard time doing work around the house. I had a leaking outdoor faucet that looked like it needed a new washer. I wanted to avoid any problems doing it myself so called Mayer Plumbing. When the plumber arrived and I told him about the problem he wanted to go into the basement to see how the faucet was connected to the rest of the system. When he saw that the faucet was connected to galvanized pipe he told me that when he removed the faucet he would also have to remove the galvanized pipe and use about 20 feet of copper tubing to replace it and the job would cost about $600. I thought this was unnecessary and asked him to just put a new washer on the faucet. When he removed the front of the faucet he lost the screw holding the washer. He did not have a new screw to replace it.but he finally found an old one in an old faucet and used the old screw to fasten the new washer to the faucet and reassembled it. Unscrewing the front of the faucet, putting a new washer in and putting the front back on is referred to as a rebuild. The total cost to put in a washer in was a $59 dollar service call and $49 to put the new washer with an old screw minus 10% for Angie's list. Shouldn't a "rebuild" include a new screw to hold the new washer.? Was it a new washer? After rebuilding the faucet the plumber/salesman spent a lot of time in his truck. When he came out he had the receipt form with two estimates to replace the faucet and piping. One was $500 to $900 and the other was for $1,200 to $1,500. I don't know why he wrote these since there is no need for a new faucet. I did not ask for any estimate. Why didn't he just turn off the water, put a new washer and new screw on the faucet, turn on the water, collect his money and go? All of this nonsense about selling me unnecessary work just wasted his time and mine.

Went as expected. Arrived on time, quoted price prior to taking on the job. Friendly, courteous, and professional. I picked them based on their ratings and the length of time they had been in business.

We called about a leaky kitchen sink. They were able to send someone out the next day, who arrived on time just fine. He fixed it - the cost was $157. Except he didn't fix it. We noticed that night that it was still very much leaking. I called back around 5 pm and was told someone would call me back soon. When I called back this morning I was given attitude because "we don't get our messages until the morning unless it's an emergency" - which is fine, but then tell me that when I first called you about the problem still being very much a problem. I was then asked what seemed to be the problem... I don't know! That's why I called a plumber in the first place. They got someone out there to repair the issue this afternoon approximately half an hour later than they said he would arrived and charged us another $50 to fix the issue which I find curious because they charged us for a repair already that hadn't been taken care of and was therefore likely unnecessary. I will never use them again. Terrible experience all around.

A plumber came out on Saturday. I was kept up to date as to when he was coming. He told me immediately what needed to be fixed and gave me a price. He was able to fix it very quickly and I'm very pleased with the quality.

He identified more work to be done and is scheduled to return with a part that we need to complete the work

He was efficient superb job. (My husband handled so I can't describe more?)

See above, the technician did a great job, he was very skilled at his craft. He finished a job that I started and could not finish.

I had two capped copper pipes in my Wash Room where a wash basin had been located. I wanted the lines capped below the floor so I did not have to tile around them. Also, I had no plans to use the lines so they were an unnecessary obstruction along the back wall. I purchased the $90 of Mayer plumbing service for $40, thinking that would get the job done. I was wrong. At least, Mayer Plumbing could NOT do it for any where near that price. First, the hot water line was too close to the floor so the plumbers said they would have to break a line further back. They said that was going to cost a lot of money and did not even want to give me an estimate. OK. I regrouped and settled for one line capped with a valve. They wrote an estimate for $208. When it was all said and done I paid $158 for this service. The work was done well. I just cannot afford this much for plumbing work and will not ask for their service in the future.

It went fine, they came and did a very nice job. He did fix the problem!

The service was ok and but it cost a little more than I thought I should. It was a big deal and what a wanted him to do was change a shell for a clogged shower. There was an additional charge for him to come out plus there was and additional charge for him to drill a nut. I responded to them for additional information and they ignored it.

We ended up not using the deal that we purchased thru Angies List for a service. They were professional and friendly. They answered my e-mails right away but they were unable to schedule me when I needed my service done however they were apologetic for being unable to accomidate my needs.
