"I keep very accurate notes of all incoming calls to my business and I looked back 3 months to the beginning of June and have no record of a call matching this customer's name. I also checked the A/L message system (which in all honesty I am not as diligent at checking) and see no message from him either. If this customer is interested in receiving a quote from me I ask him to give me a phone call and I will be glad to give him an estimate."
"I would like an opportunity to respond to this customer's review. I was contacted on Tuesday evening by this potential customer. I made an appointment for an estimate for 7:00 pm on Wednesday, the following evening. I arrived at a few minutes before 7 for our scheduled appointment. Upon arriving, I spoke to the potential customer and discussed her job. After hearing her requests and seeing the layout of her fenced in yard and landscaping, I decided that my company was not interested in this particular job. I explained that due to her fence and landscaping, I would not be able to get my equipment into her back yard, and respectfully thanked her for her interest and declined. I was responsive to her call, was on time for our appointment, and had a professional attitude. As a contractor, it is not a requirement for me to pursue every potential job that is presented to me. Was I supposed to give her a ridiculously high quote on her job to ensure that I would not get the job? That is not the "professional" thing to do."
"I strive to return every phone call that comes into my office. I looked at my records and do not see a call from you. If you are interested in a quote, please contact my office. I will say that I am not a computer person, so if you tried to contact me thru the message system, I never saw it. Please call my office and I will gladly give you a quote."
