He responds promptly to phone messages. He charges a fair price and does beautiful work. The only small negative is that he works at his own pace on his own schedule (does not start work before 9 AM), but that has never been a problem for me.
Description of Work: Repaired a latch on my storm door. Kirk has done many jobs for me over the past 6 years. He repaired/replaced wood trim on my garage, replaced the door step and jam, and then painted the garage. He enlarged a cement pad for a washer and dryer in my basement. He insulated a crawl space under my bedroom. He hauled away all old materials and cleaned up the area. He does very good work!

He gave me an estimate before he started the work. After he started the work, I changed my mind about the design of the door jamb which involved removing and replacing some of the new wood. He made the changes and did not change the estimate. He sanded and primed all of the replacement pieces before installing them so that they were ready to paint. He cleaned up and hauled away the old wood. He preferred to work on his own schedule which took several days, but this was not a problem for me and I am very pleased with the work.
Description of Work: I hired Kirk to replace rotted trim and siding and to replace the side (people) door jamb and sill on my detached 2-car garage.

Kirk was very professional and good at explaining what was going on throughout the process. He was also very good at communicating, calling me frequently to let me know of a delay in getting the lumber, for example, and letting me know when he thought he could schedule the work. He tore out the old flooring and hauled it away, replaced one rotted support beam and some fascia boards, and installed new flooring, priming the bottom side for moisture protection before installing it, then priming the top side. He accidentally knocked out some bricks in my front step risers and offered to mortar them back in. Everything was cleaned up and the craftsmanship is excellent. He got the work done in only three days. His price was good compared to others, also.
Description of Work: Kirk removed my old front porch floor and installed a new floor, primed the flooring top and bottom sides, and caulked where the trim meets the floor. He did not paint the floor because I opted to do that myself.
