I have such trust and confidence in Mr. Hoffman and his crew that I had no problem allowing him to place a drop box with keys to my back door so he could perform the inside work while I was out of town. Other than the window, which had to be ordered, the work was completed upon my return. Much to my surprise, they also replaced a few damaged ceiling tiles in my family room at no charge. The price from another contractor could have been lower, but the quality of work is well worth the extra dollars.

Hoffman Construction did a great job. They provided useful advice. The work they did looks very good. My new kitchen floor turned out very well. The hardwood floors they worked on look great. They did a lot of painting and small repair work in the house, all of which were done well. I'm very happy.

Hoffman Construction Co Inc was excellent. He was willing to work with us and he is the only one out of three that we contacted that did a follow up. I like his interaction and he is thorough. He didn't have samples available to show me what products I could select from, which I didn't like. Other than that everything is going fine. He is real cautious about our budget. So we gave him what our budget was, and he came back with two separate quotes to try to get within that budget. The original quote was for $12,500 and he was able to get it back to our original budget of just under $10,000.

It went very well he fixed a bent track on the door and it works very well.

I hired Mr. Hoffman to install a new front door, patch a hole in the ceiling, and to install a new stair banister. He was very communicative through the whole process. He had subcontractors doing the work, but he was frequently present to insure the work was done to his, and our, satisfaction. We are greatlypleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of Mr. Hoffman. We are contacting him to see about remodeling our kitchen now.

Hoffman Construction was very responsive to our needs - namely, to repair two aged and degraded rental property bathrooms in a cost effective way. They were very clear in describing the pros and cons and costs of each step of the project. They were timely and respectful of our tenants' schedules. The project looks great and will definitely help us rent this property for years to come.

Much of the work was performed either to make the house presentable to prospective tenants (new interior paint) or as a result of violations turned up by Cleveland Heights housing inspectors. Even when faced with difficult tasks (e.g., finding appropriate fireplace materials), he persisted and was able to find the necessary materials.

Barry Hoffman (the contractor) is very good at communicating daily about who will be working, what they will be doing, and when they will be arriving. The carpenter did a wonderful job hanging the cabinets. The tile person hand-crafted tile to accommodate some Spanish tile I wanted installed. The plumber and the electrician were not as meticulous as the carpenter and tile person, but they did their jobs professionally. Everyone was polite and respectful. It was an excellent experience.

I didn't use Hoffman Construction. He was ridiculously high. It was $14,000 and I actually got it done by Weatherby Construction, that isn't on Angie's List, for half that. He was nice and he was thorough. We played telephone tag, but he kept up and I just thought his price was high.

He came out originally and gave me some quotes. I had him in and out of here and changed my mind quite a few times, but he remained very patient throughout the whole process. He gave me a pretty good quote. After it was all said and done, I am going to have the work done by a friend. When I told him I wasn't going to go with him, he was very pleasant and didn't cause a scene or anything.

It was really a very good experience. The only complaint I have is that I asked that some decorative boards be put up to match the front of my house. He did put them up, but they were squared instead of rounded- like the house. I felt this shouldn't have been something I needed to specify, but he already had them all up by the time I got home and I didn't think it was important enough to complain about. You really can't tell unless you look for it. So, if you hire Barry- be specific! He does exactly what you tell him to do. Other than that, no complaints. Very satisfied.

The workers were on time and worked almost continuously. They were polite and professional and did meticulous work. They'd didn't play radios, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Barry (the owner) was very responsive and easy to reach, and made sure we both understood the work that would be done. We will certainly use them again, and I'd recommend them to anyone who asks.

I was extremely pleased with their work. They just finished a week ago and they were wonderful. They were timely and great with restoration work. I would recommend them to anyone.

Most houses don't have porches nor are they over 100 yrs old. It's hard to find someone with expertise in older houses. He's very thorough & makes sure your satisfied. He does a lot a research & if he doesn't know how to do something, he'll find someone who does & bring them in on the job. I'm extremely satisfied with his work & would definitely recommend him.

He is fabulous. I am going to have him do it again for another unit. I had a great experience with him.

We had bought the doors. They did a really good job.

They did fantastic work and we couldn't be happier with it. They were very professional and they planned it out and showed us some options before installing the unit.

The job overall went well. In the beginning the remodel was all go, moving fast with the gutting and inspecting. Quickly started fixing and replacing the necessary components. Everything moved very smoothly until the window order was delayed by he window company. Also some minor scheduling issues with subs but nothing big. Once window arrived and installed work could continue. But after that work was slow. Until completion. The job took 8 weeks to complete 4 weeks longer than predicted. But the work is quality and have enjoyed he results.

We had several projects on our wish list and had several contractors come out and give us their estimates. In our opinion, Mr Hoffman was the most careful in terms of actually listening to our problems and how we wanted to deal with things. He was punctual and went the extra mile in terms of trying to find us quality materials at a reasonable price. When we settled on a slightly more expensive material for flooring the entry way to our back door (sort of a mini-porch) he kept us informed or the order status. The carpenters were amazing - no need for quarter rounds to cover up bad cuts - everything fit beautifully against the brick walls. Our neighbors loved the beauty of the flooring material as well. We heartily recommend his services to anyone who wants careful work done at a reasonable price. My only regret is that it took me so long to submit this report.

Quickly coordinated repair time and it was completed in a single day. Very happy with repair and would recommend to others.

This did not go well. By the end of the interaction, he was requiring certified checks to a p.o. box before he would begin work. This is the opposite of saying he would take a deposit from us on the first day of work, which was the original agreement. We spent the entire day looking for other contractors on the day he was supposed to begin work.

The job turned out great !! Mr. Hoffman did an excellent job of matching the stain on the new flooring to my original floors!

My house was built in 1950 and has wonderful matching stained-wood-frame windows in my beautifully wood-panelled office. The windows would not open, or would crash down when opened, and some of the lift assembly was clearly broken - hanging out at an angle, etc.. I was afraid the windows would need replacing. Mr. Hoffman came by, looked at it, and said they can be fixed. His initial quote was reasonable so I booked him. He ordered the replacement parts (they were special order) and kept me apprised when they arrived. We scheduled a start time, and he saw that one window needed only minor repairs - less work than he anticipated. He lowered the actual cost to account for the saved time and parts - something I greatly appreciated. He worked diligently to carefully disassemble the window so that he could re-use the carefully matched wood trim. As he said - replacing it could be done. But it is cheaper for me to reuse the original trim where possible. He really seems to take pride in how his finished work-product looks, and that craftsmanship and care now means my office windows work like new, and still look amazing. By sheer coincidence, my electric garage door lift assembly got messed up - and the door was no longer able to be used. (The wire coil fell off the track, and the door listed at quite an angle.) He looked at it, and fixed it as well. (also reasonably priced.) All in all: Work was done in a timely manner, at a reasonable cost, and by someone who took pride to ensure that it looked good!

Barry came out to meet me at the property. We was punctual and pleasant. He prepared a quote for a kitchen remodel within a day or two, and he had a lot of good ideas for renovating the property. In the end, we used a different contractor, only because the other guy was a friend of the family.

I talked to them on the phone. It was clear that their scheduling was not going to match with mine. The guy was very responsive. I liked him on the phone. He was very obliging and professional and he sounded like a person who was concerned with quality work. I would consider using them again in the future.
