Description of Work: I contacted Great Expectations Cleaning to get an estimate of how much it would cost to clean my house. I spoke to woman. She was on a job site at the time of the call. We spoke briefly about the size of my house, how many bathrooms I have, etc. She said she could come Friday, May 11, 2012 @ 3:30 p.m., which was fine with me. She asked me to call the same number back and she would not answer, and it would go to voicemail. I was to leave a message with my name, address and the agreed date/time for her to come. I was at home all day on May 11th. She did NOT come or call on that day or any other day. I will not attempt to contact her again. I am using another cleaning company who has a "special" deal going on right now. I am still in search of a company/ trustworthy person to clean my home on a regular basis.

+ -1 moreCharlotte and her crew have been cleaning my home on and off over the past two years. I was in my first trimester with my second child and was so sick I could barely function. Plus I had an 18 month old to keep up with. My house was getting out of control and I didn't want to expose myself to the cleaning chemicals during the pregnancy. I looked to Angie's list for someone to help with the house cleaning. I selected Great Expectations based on the great reviews. Charlotte came to the house to meet me and give me a quote. Her price was very competitive and her manor very professional. I hired them to start the following week and have never been sorry. They consistently do an extremely thorough job and I am always pleased with the quality of their work. Additionally Charlotta has always been so easy to work with. My husband is self employed and our income experiences feast and famines. There have been times I have been lucky enough to have Great Expectations on a twice a month schedule. There have also been times when we had to tighten our belt and been forced to reduce the schedule to once or month or stop altogether. Every time Charlotta's services fit back into the budget she has always found room for me in her schedule and has never had hard feelings. Charlotte is very professional, does a superb job, doesn't waste her time or my money while in my house, and is flexible to change. I highly recommend Great Expectations.

Description of Work: A whole house cleaning was done. One week the entire downstairs area was cleaned thoroughly (walls, ceilings floors, woodwork, windows, etc), and the the entire upstairs area was cleaned the following week.

They responded promptlyI have engaged them several times, and have been pleased with the quality of the work at both my home and my daughters. They are quick and efficient and I have found them to be helpful with suggestions to save me money. Very impressive!I have engaged them to do regular cleaning now.
Description of Work: General housecleaning, deep cleaning and regular maintenance cleaning. Price is reflective of deep cleaning. Maintenance bill is less.

+ -1 moreI called a number of cleaning companies and Great Expectations was the only place that came to my house to give me an estimate in person. I walked 2 people through my home, explaining in detail what I wanted done. There was no task they werent able to accomplish. I was given an estimate on the spot and was also reminded about a discount through Angie's List. The cleaners arrived promptly on the scheduled day. Everyone was polite and professional. They worked over the time estimate and did not charge extra because they wanted to make sure the job fit their standards. I am very picky when it comes to cleaning and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. There was extreme attention to detail and the areas I emphasized the most they took care of. I was equally as impressed with the quality of work as e professionalism of the staff. I am now looking into using Great Expectations on a monthly basis.
Description of Work: Great Expectations did a deep cleaning service in my home. Services included cleaning floors, windows, window sills, washing bathroom walls, baseboards, faucets and shower tiles.

+ -1 moreWe have a 3-bedroom; 1.5 bath colonial in University Heights. They bring their own cleaning supplies and equipment and get to work immediately. I am very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Charlotta and her team did a one-time whole-house cleaning, and continue to do a maintenance cleaning once every three weeks They are personable, professional, the quality of their work is excellent, and the price is what I consider to be very reasonable. The house smells so good after they have been there and it sparkles!

Description of Work: The company provided 2 hours of cleaning by 3 employees. The price included tax and a mileage charge. They cleaned 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, as well as the rest of our 2900 sq ft house.

+ -1 moreThere were three people that came in for 3 hours of cleaning. I left them a very specific list of items I needed done before my move. They did not complete the tasks I requested. For example, the floors were left dirty, the cupboards were not cleaned, the refrigerator was not cleaned, and the medicine cabinets were not cleaned. I was not pleased with the service.

My house is spotless when Ms Stevens and her staff are finished with their work. She leaves no stone unturned! She pays close attention to detail and never cuts corners. She asks questions if she's unsure of something, and makes note of special requests. Great Expectations is excellent!
Description of Work: Ms. Stevens and her staff cleaned my entire house including the basement. Great Expectations comes to my house every other Friday since 2009.

When workers arrived, they were concerned that I would not be satisfied because the leader thought I actually needed a deep cleaning--and I could see her point. We had a misunderstanding because I had not shown them one bathroom that needed to be cleaned (my omission, but she was clearly concerned that they had not done 100% of the work and that I might not be satisfied. She offered me ways to recitfy that, and I appreciated it.

Description of Work: I have had the most unpleasant experience ever with this company.My first call with Charlotta Stevens went well. We set up an appointment for 2:45pm on a Friday to clean my boyfriends apartment for his birthday,but when I got there she was not. I waited for 20 minutes and I tried calling her, but didn't get a call back, so I went home, and she had lefi a message that she was on her way and was running late. That was at 3:20pm. I did not have a chance to respond, because she called me again a few minutes later to let me know she was having a problem with her smart phone plus she had a falling out with one of her employees, and she was very upset, but would do the work that day. Well I told her that I didn't want to do that,and she said she would call me back when she calms down and she did. We set up another date, on a tuesday at 2:15, however she called me 2 hours before my appointment to say that her customer before me had cancelled and she did not want to keep her girls on the payroll until my appointment , so she left a message that she will schedule me for the next day as if I have nothing else planned in my life. I could not believe this was happening with her. I waited about a week or more, then e-mailed her to let her know I was going to evaluate her on Angies list, and it was not going to be good.We discussed how things could go wrong and she wanted to try again, so I agreed, By this time her rates had changed from $58.00 an hour to $68.00 per hour and 0.52cents per mile. but she would give me 30 per cent off. Okay I accept this regardless of the increase forThursday Oct.1 at 2:15pm. I called around noon to confirm the time, and Tracey told me they will not be able to keep the appointment, because Charlotta had received some very bad news, and was not able to talk to anyone. I was stunned, no one called me to let me know anything. Tracey apoligized, and said they would re-schedule me, I was sooooo upset I could not talk. I can't believe any company could be so disorganized. I had to call my niece over and we did the work. I have not heard anything from them, and I hope I never will again. I vote them the worst company ever.

Description of Work: Cleaned House from top to bottom, including vacuuming basement living space. Vacuumed all rugs and dusted all surfaces and reorganized some clutter. Cleaned wood floors in foyer and kitchen. Cleaned all bathrooms and cleaned all spots they noted on walls, cleaned woodwork.

Char, the owner, asked what products I would like specifically to have used on my furniture. She asked for feedback and was very open to making changes the next time she came back. In fact, the first thing she asked me on her second visit was if I had any suggestions or things I wanted done differently. I've had 4 cleaning services in the last 5 years and so far - she's the best! She works the entire time she's here and does a great job managing her team.
