I first contacted Sandor at the end of August and received my estimate early in September. I was added to the queue, with an estimated start date of the end of November (depending on weather). He accepted a 15% deposit at the start of work. Due to rain, work began on the flat roofs during the middle of December. The slate and copper work was completed early in January. The total job took about 7 days, with up to 3 men working on the project. All workmanship was high quality. The team was very friendly and professional. The job site was left clean.

He is really very good. He only does certain kinds of roofs. If somebody is looking to do a normal asphalt roof then he is not the person to call. He specializes in slates, tiles and copper. He caters to niche markets. He is a young person who is really amazing. He works hard to make a good business. He is very professional about everything he does. We have a rental home that has a clay tile roof. It's a tile that slides. We were having general service done to it. It is something that has to be looked at every year. He just does a tremendous job of maintenance of the roof. I have only good things to say about the company.

Sandor responded to my email within 24 hours. He came out to look at the roof and give me an estimate within 48 hours. When I told him that I was getting water inside the house, he bumped me up to the next weekend for doing the work. He did not just inspect the roof from the ground with binoculars, he got up on a ladder, looked around the house, and gave me his estimate of cost. The workmen showed up on time, completed the task in the projected time, and the part of the roof I can see looks great.

We have a slate roof that, while beautiful, requires maintinence. We have had Sandor out 3 times in the last four years for regular maintenance and to address some larger issues gradually. He most recently replaced the entire flat section of the roof. Sandor is extremely professional, knowledgeable, honest, holds high standards, and documents his work with digital pictures so that you can see the work that needs to be done and the perfection of his craft. We have had few contractors who I can recommend as wholeheartedly as Sandor and his crew.

The owner, Mr. Sandor Varga, and his crew did excellent work and we are very satisfied with the finished results. Sandor responded promptly to my initial request for an estimate and was very focused on making sure he delivered the results we wanted. Over the years we have used numerous contractors to maintain and improve our home, Exact Roofing’s professionalism and quality work really stands out. We appreciated the cooperative manner in which all issues were addressed.

This is the second year that we have used Exact Roofing because the quality of their craftsmanship is excellent, especially for the price. Sandor returned my call the same day. The chimney flashing replacement had been included in last year's estimate, but because our roof needed extensive work we put it off until this year. Sandor honored the price from last year's quote. We had to schedule a few months in advance, but Sandor stayed on top of the schedule and called us the week before to make sure that there weren't any scheduling conflicts. The day before Exact was scheduled to start (Friday), our driveway sealing contractor called asking if he could come the following Wednesday. I called Sandor to see if his crew would be done by then and got him right away. He thought his crew would be done, but we came up with a contingency plan in case they weren't that allowed for both his guys and the driveway sealing crew to get their work done. The Exact crew showed up promptly on Saturday morning and worked for about nine or 10 hours on the chimney flashing. When they were done for the day they said they would be back on Monday to finish, and assured me that even though they were not done installing the flashing they had made the area they were working on watertight (it was forecast to rain on Sunday). It rained particularly h****** Sunday so I climbed up in the attic, but there wasn't any water getting in at all. On Monday his crew came back and worked about another 10 hours finishing the flashing replacement and replacing the broken slate tiles. They did a pretty good job cleaning up after themselves, but in the subsequent stormy weather some debris (slate and lumber pieces, and a few hangers and roofing nails) did blow down off of the roof. Still, it was a pretty small amount (much less than other roofing contractors have left us), and took about 5 minutes to clean up. Sandor came out the following weekend to inspect the work and make sure we were satisfied. He also e-mailed the pictures that his guys took. All in all a great experience. We will definitely continue to use Exact Roofing in the future.

It did not go well because they never returned my calls. Apparently they are not looking for new business.

Project went very well. The owner (Sandor) came out in April to fix a small leak in the flat roof over my sun room. He also investigated the rest of my roof and found a gap in the fascia board of my roof in the back (and some birds had nested). He gave me an estimate for everything. It took a while for them to get out to do the repairs (mostly because it was a very rainy May), but when they came in early June they finished everything in 1 day. They even gave me some pictures of the job along the way (of the fascia board replacement), so I could see the damage and what they did to fix it. As far as I can tell, they did a great job.

Sandor came to my home in February to assess the situation with my roof. He was on time and appeared very knowlegeable as we talked about what was happening with the roof. A couple days later I received an estimate and we set an approximate time in May for the repair. However, with rain and more rain this season, his schedule backed up and he was not able to get to my home until July. We kept in contact prior to the final scheduled date. He called a week before the start date to let me know when the repair was going to be done (if there was not rain). Two men arrived the scheduled morning on time and worked throughout the day, periodly explaining what they found regarding the probable leaks that had been discussed with Sandor. The next morning they arrived to complete the job. Later that morning Sandor came to check the work and to make sure everything was going as expected. He also explained the leak situation to me and assured me that he felt the problem had be resolved. When the work was complete, I was absolutely amazed how the replacement slate matched the existing slate on the house perfectly. A bonus with the job was the television antenna attached to my chimney was removed at no extra charge. The job was performed with the utmost neatness and the debris was cleaned up with perfection. The gutter guards were installed approximately a week after the work was completed because the guards that Sandor wanted to use were not available at the time the job was finished.

Craftsmanship at its absolute best!

From start to finish, Exact Roofing has been a pleasure to work with. They responded promptly to my initial call and request for a proposal to complete the work. Their bid was competitive and thorough. They worked with me to structure the proposal in a way that suited our insurance company requirements (part of the work was covered in damage sustained by the May 2010 hail storm). Once we decided to use this company to work on our roof, we had to wait a few months for the work to get started (they had a backlog of jobs). In the interim we had a series of ice storms that created a ice dam around the turret and was leading to a leak. I called Exact Roofing to ask their advice, they came out right away and removed the dam free of charge. Once they started working on the job, they were professional and efficient. The crew were courteous and respected our property. They cleaned up every day, and it was clear watching them work that they were skilled craftsman. They took their time and did things right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Exact Roofing to others. They did an excellent job on our roof and were a pleasure to work with. I'm thankful we've finally found someone who services the west side of town who has works on slate roofs and does such a great job.

My husband was not sure whether the gutters needed to be replaced or repaired. The owner inspected the gutters and said they could be repaired. (He could have taken the opportunity to sell us new guttering, but we feel that he was honest and kind to recommend repairing.) The gentlemen who did the work were professional, polite, and did an outstanding job. We will hire them again this summer to repair a spot on our roof that has occasionally leaked water over the years. We have complete confidence that they will be able to finally repair it. The owner has given us two quotes: one for a relatively inexpensive fix that may take care of the problem for maybe several years, and one for a more expensive fix that would probably fix the problem permanently. As much money as we have spent over the years repairing ice dam leaks, we would not mind spending the extra money on the permanent fix. I know they would stand behind their work and that if there were any problems with it, they would make it right.

Sandor called me 30 minutes before arriving at the home, which I appreciated. He performed the inspection, surveying the roof for repairs, replacement, and age. We received a report, estimate, and photographs two days later. His level of detail was invaluable, not only for us but for our realtor. We felt comfortable after his thorough inspection what might need to be done to the roof and with the gutters. Sandor charged $50 for the inspection. He did tell me that if we used him for the job that the $50 could go towards the work performed. When I received his estimate, coincidentally, it came to $3,050.00.

A dream roof company. The whole experience went as well as could be expected. We obtained 3 estimates and Exact's was the most competitive. They also took pictures to show me exactly what was wrong. We needed new flashing on our working chimney, new flashing on our vent stack, and we asked for a tear down and new section of roof where an old, un-used (and falling apart) chimney used to be. We have a slate roof and the flashing issues were causing 2 roof leaks. Dealing with Sandor and making the contract was easy - he is very personable, professional, and kind. He is reasonable as well. He emailed me the formal contract. I made changes and faxed it back. He accepted my changes, which included patching a flat roof for free (this flat roof has led to leaks in our kitchen in the past). The crew came out early the following week and spent 2 days doing the work. The work appears to be flawless and the copper flashing is very pretty. The new slate roof looks like it had always been there and matches the rest of the roof. The crew cleaned up extremely well. They were also very polite and professional. They were unable to patch the flat roof due to snow, but they agreed to come out again with better weather (this is late January). Today we started to get a little water into the kitchen from the flat roof so I called Exact to see if there is anything that could be done. Sandor is already sending out a crew tomorrow. He said they would do anything they could to patch it and stop the leak. I believe him. I have faith in this company, will use them again, and am very pleased that we chose to do business with them.

It went very well. I called Sandor to get a quote (on a Friday), and we scheduled the quote for the next day. He showed up promptly, patiently listened to all of the problems we had (a lot of this work was done to fix Point of Sale violations that we inherited when we bought our Shaker Heights house), walked around with me to view the things I could show him from the ground then got out his ladder and spent a while climbing around on the roof to diagnose problems up there. Before he left, he showed me a hand-drawn map of all the locations where there were slates that needed to be repaired or replaced and gave me a verbal explanation of the potential issues he thought should be resolved. He said that he would e-mail me a quote and pictures he had taken of the aforementioned issues within the week (which he did promptly). Because our house had been on the market and unoccupied for several years there were a lot of potential problem areas the total estimate ended up being over $8000, and where there were more and less expensive options (i.e. copper versus stainless steel snow guards) Sandor happily quoted me both options so we could get and idea of the price difference. I didn't feel any sort of sales push to go with the more expensive options which was pleasant. I also didn't feel pushed to have all of the work done at once which was nice. My wife and I took a couple of weeks to gather other estimates (4 in total, all from companies with "A" ratings on Angie's List and with good ratings from the BBB) and think over the scope of the work we wanted done. We decided that we would take care of the most pressing issues this year and hold off on some until the following year, and also that we wanted to change a couple of the things in the estimate. Sandor was fine with that; he just had us circle the items we wanted taken care of this year and fax him a signed copy of the contract. He called a couple of days later to schedule the work (this was in October and they were busy so we scheduled for the week of November 15). Sandor then called the week before the work was slated to begin to confirm and make sure that everything was still good on our end. His guys showed up promptly and were polite and professional. For four out of the five days they were here, there were two men, and one day (the day they replaced the fascia boards) they had six or seven guys here to make sure it gone done in one day so we wouldn't have water leaking into the attic and ruining the walls and ceiling. Sandor stopped by halfway through to check that things were going well and make sure that we were happy so far. They always kept their supplies and tools together so that they took up a minimum of space and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves every day. Any time I needed to drive somewhere they would quickly and courteously make any arrangements in ladder and tool positions necessary for me to get the car safely down the driveway. They worked hard through some pretty gross, wet weather and finished promptly. Sandor came by that weekend to inspect things and drop off the final invoice. A few weeks later it snowed heavily, and during the day I noticed water dripping from the gutter-gutter seams in the rear where they had taken the gutters down to replace the fascia boards. I also noticed that they hadn't trimmed off all of the extra snow and ice guard that they had installed (our gutters were in pretty bad shape and were bowed so even though they had cut the membrane in a straight line our gutters didn't cooperate with their installation--not a serious problem, just a slightly unsightly one). I called Sandor that day (Saturday), and he was very polite and apologetic and said that he had been meaning to have some guys come over and trim the snow and ice guard since he inspected but that they had been very busy. He took the time to listen to me describe the problems in detail and asked me several questions to make sure that he understood the problems. He assured me that either he or his guys would come fix the problem within the week. Exactly one week later the same fellows who had done the original work came by and fixed the problems perfectly. All in all, great service and very good pricing. I am definitely planning on having them continue working on our roof in 2011.

Exact Roofing wins in price and professionalism. The crew is prompt and very courteous, even obliging my request to quiet their conversation outside my baby's nursery window during nap time. They were very prompt, arriving early each morning and staying well past dark each day. Most days Sandor, the owner, came by at the end of day to inspect the day's work and made additional recommendations as he saw necessary. They take such pride in their work making certain that the job is done to perfection. We completely recommend them.

Couldn't be happier. First, the owner worked with the insurance company to determine that a new roof was needed to replace the hail damaged roof. Exact Roofing's quotation was very reasonable per my insurance company. Once the actual replacemant started, Exact Roofing was punctual, and the work was performed by high quality professionals. Of course, they cleaned up everyday so that our exterior and yard were as presentable as possible. The owner was on the job everyday to lead the crew and it was obvious that there was a great amount pride going into the work and final product. If you are serious about slate roof work, I would suggest you see(thru Exact Roofing) the work they did. I think you will be impressed.

Wow. I'd seen them working in West Park and saw many good mentions on Angie's list. Left 2 messages explaining that I was preparing to replace my two car garage roof and wanted to arrange for an estimate. Now 2 weeks later and neither call has been returned. The new roof looks great. Made due with only 2 estimates.

The project was delayed unexpectedly, due to a carpenter's schedule. Sandor was very flexible, and assured us that he would do the work whenever the carpenter was ready. The carpenter insisted that things be done in a certqin order; there was a little confusion about that, since 2 months had elapsed since we had all talked about the project.(The carpenter wanted to repair the dormers in the middle of the job, so that he would not have to walk on new slates) I reminded Sandor about the carpenter's specific requirements, and he then did his best to accomodate us and the carpenter. All went well, and we are very happy with Sandor and his crew. They were very polite, cleaned up very well, and were a pleasure to have around. After the job was done, I realized that I didn't like the way something looked, so Sandor came back and changed it; he would not charge us anything for doing that. We feel that this is a very good company, who is trying their hardest to do a good job. We will call them next year to do maintenance and any needed repairs on the roof. We highly recommend Exact Roofing Company.

Got a prompt estimate from Sandor Varga, the owner. It was a little over the other 2 estimates we had, but because of his great reputation we went with him. We are happy we did. The 2 workmen were courteous, on-time and very professional in the scorching 90 +degree heat. We were impressed by them. They cleaned up much better than other crews we have had in the past. Sandor came to inspect their work before we were billed. We are quite satisfied.

Initially everything seemed to go fine with this company. I contacted them and left a message, a couple hours later my call was returned and Gabor came out the next day and did what seemed like a thorough job examining my roof and problems I described. I needed some flashing, a section of gutter replaced and all the gutters to be properly bracketed to the roof. I did confirm that they would do that work and he said he would email a quote on Monday (it was Friday) and that it would not take a long time and he and a partner could come and do the work. I never received a quote and my husband and I left at least 3 messages over the next two weeks and our calls were never returned. Not returning calls is completely unprofessional and if they didn't have the time or the scope of work was not something they wanted to do at least have the professionalism to call or email.

I initially called Exact Roofing to get an estimate on the garage roof and Mr. Varga came out himself. There was a slight misunderstanding about having all the plywood replaced or just the ones that were rotted. Once that was cleared up the quote was very reasonable. I mailed him a signed copy of the contract and once he had received it he had 2 guys come out within a few days. They called about 20 minutes prior to arriving. They had to come back on a second day to complete all the work but they seemed to work efficiently and cleaned up everything before they left both days. They even did a small gutter repair on my house for free!
