Emerald City Jewelers

My husband gave me the paperwork for the diamond in the ring, and we'd looked at the diamond under a microscope to see the serial number on it previously. When I handed my 1 carat ring to the jeweler at Emerald City for inspection, he told me it should be easy to resize my ring and commented on it being a nice cubic zirconia ring! I promptly took it back from him and left the store. I was willing to overlook the general creepyness of the location (barred door, lots of neon in cheap-looking cases filled with gold chains, very pawn-shopesque), as their website clearly listed appraisals and wedding rings as a specialty. However, I can't overlook a jeweler not being able to tell a diamond from a CZ upon examination (he had it under a microscope when he mentioned it being a CZ, so I know he could see the serial number). I will never bring anything to Emerald City Jewelers and would be wary of purchasing from them as well.
