Terrible landscapers. Grass was always turfed next to the house, cigarette butts in driveway, weedwack marks on siding.

Met with Chris for an initial consult to discuss paver patio design and install. Gave him a rough draft of what we'd like with dimensions of the area for installation. We asked that a quote be provided my mid-April. The middle of the month came and went with no response. Email follow-up to him on 4/21 yielded a response that he had been busy and had not had time to work on our proposal. He indicated he'd have something to us in a few days. A week later we received an email from him saying he still hadn't had time to get to our project. At that point we told him we weren't interested in receiving his quote. From our perspective, Down to Earth has an outstanding portfolio, but the majority of projects shown to us were on either a commercial scale or enormous residential projects. One in particular was for the residential property of the owner of a large local garden center. I feel that our project was too small for them to 'waste their time' and they didn't have the courtesy to just say so. Prior to the disappointment of not receiving a proposal, Chris was extremely responsive to emails.

The final product was well done. A bad brick and some minor cosmetic issues were quickly taken care of when reported to the company. Communication was pretty poor. I was supposed to receive 24-hour notice before work started but instead I got a call at work that they were at my house and were starting. This would have been a major problem had I not anticipated just a situation and already moved several plants and salvaged the sandstone pieces I wanted to keep. There was also some miscommunication on the pattern of the pavers on the walkway. (Though what they put in is close and looks nice). I suggest drawing out the entire job so there is no miscommunication. All that being said, the job was done well and completed in one day as promised. If there was a communication category on the grade card, they would get an F, but an A or B in everything else.
Description of Work: Removed old sandstone walkway, replaced with approximately 25 linear feet of new paver walkway.

Down to Earth was responsive, professional and performed the work the day after I accepted the proposal. Workers arrived at 8:30 AM and were done by 7:30 PM the same day. They worked efficiently, and I am very pleased with the end result. I was quoted much more money and longer time frames from other contractors. Adam (the owner) immediately knew the scope of the work when he came to do the estimate. He also brought in 3 tons of gravel, at cost, for another area of the yard. I would definitely hire Down to Earth Again.
Description of Work: Down to Earth installed a 300 sq. foot Unilock patio in my backyard. They also installed a drain under the patio that tied into my existing downspout.
