Dave's Electric

I contacted Dave's electric on Saturday morning, leaving a VM message knowing that the company was not open on Saturday or Sunday, Dave came to my hom on Sunday to look at my space heater, and to explain the possible reasons it was not working. He made arrangements to come back the following day to attempt the repair. While he was there, he also took the time to explain quite a bit about some additional electrical needs in my house, as well as about water proofing options. He attempted to come in the morning, but I was not home at the time, so he said he would come in the afternoon. He then not only came over that afternoon, but he called me at 6:00 to ask if it was too late to come over. He arrived just after 6:30, successfully completed the repair, and did not leave until 7:00 pm! Now I have a functioning space heater, and I am very impressed with someone who would come out to my home to give me an estimate on a sunday, and who would actually do the repair after 5:00, at the end of a long day. And finally, he emailed me information about the other electrical and water proofing information he had explained to me. A++ all the way around. I would highly recommend Dave's Electric!

I recently moved back to the area and there were certain things in the home that needed a repair. My previous electrician is no longer in the business so I used Angie's List to find a new one. Dave was professional from the first phone call to the visit and the subsequent estimate. While Hurricane Sandy caused a small delay, Dave kept me updated when he'd be able to get back with me so it was completely understandable and the follow-up was appreciated. They came while I was at work and by the time I came home everything was completed just as Dave explained to me during the first visit. It was a very good overall experience and I would certainly contact them again for any other electrical needs at the house.

Dave came out and spent a considerable amount of time examining the area of the house we wanted to address. He was very detail oriented and spent time explaining to us what could and could not be done and why. After we decided on a plan, Dave's son Sam came out to do the work. He was very professional and his work was neat, and everything we wanted was working after he was finished. We would definitely use Dave and Sam again.

We called Dave's Electric after another electrician did not show up to do the work. Although they were working another job, Dave came to our house at the end of the day and was able to find the problem. He was booked for the next 5 days, but set a date and time to return. Dave's Electric returned on the day agreed upon. They were running a little behind, but called to let us know. They made the needed repair and also added some outlets that we had agreed upon. We have an 80 yr old house and Dave's Electric had the knowledge to make the kind of repairs this old house needed. They were so helpful and courteous. I am so relieved to not have to "work around" the areas where the electric power was dead. I will call Dave's Electric every time I have need for an electrician from now on. They are the best in my book.

Dave and his son, Sam, are excellent. Very prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. Everything you could ask for in a contractor. Dave came out to provide and estimate, and since my kitchen remodel was a do-it-yourself project (except the plumbing and electrical), I didn't have an exact plan for how many outlets/switches/fixtures and where they should be located. Dave spent a lot of time giving me advice on those issues, and promptly submitted an estimate. Again, because this was a do-it-yourself project, the work dragged on for many months. He'd perform some of the work, then he'd have to wait until I got around to completing the next phase of the project so he could continue. Whenever I let him know I was ready for more electrical work, he or Sam showed up almost instantly. (in fact, if too much time went by, Dave would get in touch with me to ask if he could come back to finish - this may have been the first home improvement project in history where the contractor was bugging the homeowner to hurry, rather than the other way around!) I am extremely pleased with Dave's work, and I will definitely use him next time I need an electrician.

I called Dave at 5.30pm on Thursday. He came out at 7pm the same day (a big difference to some other contractors who hadn't been able to help within the next 10 days). He investigated and fixed the porch light that night. After fixing the porch light he investigated the problem with the kitchen light and determined what was wrong. He said his son would come over in the morning to fix it. It needed a replacement switch and a replacement transformer. He was happy to be paid all in one go once the job was finished. The following day his son showed up as promised and fixed the kitchen light. Very impressed with his responsiveness, and they were able to complete the work quickly and for a good price.Great job all around.

Our garbage disposal wasn't working. We had a plumber come out and look at it. He couldn't fix it. I thought it might be an electrical issue because the switch sparked when we tried to turn it on. Dave immediately knew the disposal wasn't working because it was jammed and needed to be cleaned out. The disposal has its own "clean out" mechanism that can be activated with either a key or an Allen wrench, which Dave had, and he used it to get the disposal working again.

Excellent experience with Dave's Electric. Dave responded to my initial web inquiry in under a day and came out on site to see the work that same day. While he cost more than other contractors we sought quotes from, we selected Dave because his commitment to safety and workmanship was apparent from the start. Plus, he worked with us as we adjusted the scope of work to best fit out budget. He and his son were very thorough and professional, providing us with email updates at the end of the work day to keep us abreast on the progress. I highly recommend Dave's Electric and would use them again.

Sam came out when I first called and we went over items on our list and he patiently went through each one, giving excellent advice and even taking closer look to pinpoint the problem so that he could come back with the solution (this is before we hired them). Even pointed out some bad decisions made by the previous electrician who was a sub on the basement finishing job. Dave's Electric didn't charge to come out and estimate the work, and Sam & Dave were very professional and knew what they were talking about (Dave over the phone, never met him.) Scheduling was not an issue b/c I work from home, but if I didn't, we could have had problems. Just make sure you clarify with them if you need exact punctual appearance. I'm in the design industry and work with contractors often, so my expectations for electricians (these days) were not high on punctuality. So the work done was excellent. Sam not only installed both flat screens but actually cleaned up with a shop vac! Now I've had work done in my place, heck we had a basement partially finished and I have to say this guy was very neat. His work was level and clean. He even taped with painter's tape where I wanted the flatscreens hung. Dave and I had discussed the low voltage light problem at length over the phone and figured that the transformer was too far from the lights causing voltage drop. Also the switch was supposed to be an electric switch, not a magnetic (another screw up by the previous.) Anyway, Sam executed the orders well and we are happy with the results. The work had to be done over 2 days just because mounting the flatscreens and making sure everything was hooked up and working took a large chunk of time. We are glad these items finally got done and these guys did the job without a hitch. The cost was fair for the amount of work done. My only suggestion would be for them to get the little blue booties that contractors typically put on when they come into someone's home. We always take our shoes off in the house, so it would have been a nice touch. But not really a complaint, just a suggestion.Would definitely call on these guys again.

We just bought a new 100 year old house and wanted all of the little electrical issues resolved. Dave came out on a Friday and we discussed several things I was concerned about. He dismissed some items in the home inspection that were labeled marginal as not being an issue at all. He gave me an estimate on issues we found while walking through the house. I agreed to the work and his son Sam came out on Monday afternoon to get a parts list. He cam back out Tuesday morning and spent all day replacing outlets, fixing a splice, grounding the entire house, replacing an old fuse panel with a circuit breaker panel, and adding a few outdoor outlets. He was efficient and skilled even doing excellent carpentry work to add to the excellent electrical work. Overall, I'm pleased with the Neuman family's work and work ethic. Great work for a good price.

The 220 line into my house stopped working and so I could not dry my clothes. I called Daves Electric and Dave (the Father) came out the SAME DAY to assess the problem. He figured it out within 15 minutes!, but wanted to make sure the fuse box was safe as the wiring was rotting and needed to replaced/salvaged, so he said his son would come back the next day and fix it. Sam (his son) called the next morning to advise me that he had an emergency job and that he would not be there until 3pm, which was great as he worked around my busy schedule. He arrived promptly and fixed/replaced the fuse box. Excellent job, neat, professional and surprisingly FAST! I was so impressed with the Father, that I asked him to look at the flourescent light fixture in my bathroom that takes 10 minutes to turn on. He gave me a quote for a couple of option after asking who and how the bathroom was going to be used. He emailed me the quote and even provided a very nice light fixture. The son, Sam performed the work, and I was very very pleased! He presented me with an invoice and it matched the quote.This was a FANTASTIC experience, and I've already recommended Dave's Electric to my sisters.

I am quite pleased with the quality of the work Dave’s Electric did. Dave Neuman reviewed the scope of the work with me in detail before getting started. He did not press me to do anything that wasn’t necessary; to the contrary, he convinced us to put off some additional work that wasn’t pressing. Dave and his son did all the work personally and both were very professional in their work habits, including keeping me informed of their work schedule and cleaning up the work area when they finished.

I would highly recommend using their services. Their quote was accurate and fair. The work done was excellent. They were timely, professional and complete. I knew the work being done was being done correctly. They were responsive to our needs. When I felt that the space between pendant lights were too close together, there were no questions asked. They came the next day and changed the placement

I found him through Angie's List and he did a fine job. He was very professional. He was very good all the way around.

We hired a plumber who said he could do the electric and plumbing for the install of our new dishwasher and stove. At the last minute he canceled and I hired another plumber, who said they could not do the electric. So I had a plumber, and a carpenter doing work and needed an electrician ASAP and called Dave's since they did work for us before and did a good job. Sam from Dave's electric came out the next morning and did the work promptly. He even went above and beyond and sawed off a six inch piece of counter that the carpenter forgot to take off, (which would have impeded our stove going in as planned tomorrow). He also helped me by referring me to a tile person he trusts. Overall a great experience, especially since we needed the work done quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

I think they are on Angie's List. They were really great and I would strongly recommend them. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Dave came a week in advance and spent quite some time checking every applicable place. When the job was started, he and his assistant Sam knew exactly what to do. The first day, they installed the new circuit-breaker box (sub-panel) and did a lot of the rest of the work. The next day, they finished the job. The work was done calmly and expertly (I have some background in the electrical field as a telecommunications engineer) and at a steady pace. It was a pleasure to deal with Dave and Sam, and I can recommend them unequivocally.

Dave visited our home on a Friday and was very professional and thorough. He explained everything and answered all of our questions. I was impressed with his honesty, professionalism, and knowledge. He first provided and estimate to rewire our entire home and then provided a revised estimate at our request for major electrical updates, but not a full rewire. Unfortunately, the price was very high compared with the contractor we chose. I would go to Dave again for an estimate.

Consulted with us to insure proper number of fixtures and their placement. We are extremely pleased with both the work and the professioanl manner in which it was completed.

Dave showed up within an hour of my call and diagnosed the problems. Then he left, calling shortly to tell me what it would take to fix things and what it would cost. His son came by about an hour after that and completed the work in less than 30 minutes. Dave explained exactly what needed to be done and why, giving a couple of alternative ways to go and we made the choice. We were very satisfied. Everything was done in a morning's time.

I called to see if I could schedule an appointment since I had been waiting for more than a month for my regular electrician to make time for this job. I was told they could come today. What a fabulous surprise. Sam came and quickly and efficiently installed my fixture. It looks great, the price was fine, he cleaned up the plaster etc. from removing the old fixture. I asked for quotes on two other little projects and will definitely use Dave's again.

Excellent. Dave and his son showed up on time, and when the fan that I purchased did not work properly, waited until my husband came home with a new one. While waiting, they called around to the local stores to find a new dimmer/controller switch that he explained would be much more useful than what the fan came with. I love it! Even with all the extras - he did not add any extra cost for waiting. (I did pay for the extra parts, but with no mark up)
