Mike came to give an estimate in October. After we agreed to the job and gave a $100 deposit, he was able to schedule it within a few days. The workers came on time, completed the work in the time estimated, cleaned the work area thoroughly, and were professional throughout the job. We paid in full by check. Mike returned to do an inspection and check for any questions or problems a couple of days later. We were very satisfied with the work. We would use them again, and we recommend them and

The work was performed very well. It started a bit later than expected due to the weather. However, when they finally finished the previous job and arrived, the sun was shining and the weather was conducive to removing old and pouring new concrete. They had to rip out the complete driveway and sidewalk. The sidewalk was damaged due to large roots from the tree in the tree lawn. They were able to cut the roots and level out the sidewalk area. Everything proceeded as planned. The inspector passed the project and the concrete was poured. The crew did an excellent job with the finishing work and we are very pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend them.

I wasn’t impressed with them. I had a bit of work done from them and I felt that their quality wasn’t as good as it could have been. They did an excellent work with the window well and I had no complains with that. I wasn’t happy with the roofing of garage work that they did. I wasn’t too impressed with that. I would not use them in the future.

I shopped around for pricing on doing the resurfacing and out of 5 companies I contacted only two replied. Class 1 was the first one. Originally Mike, the VP, gave me a verbal estimate and described what had to be done to justify the price. The other company also gave me a price but it was over 50% more. I chose Class 1. When I called Mike to tell him I would like him to do the job he came over a second time. He gave me a written contract and I made a $200 down payment on the $2300 job. We agreed that depending on the weather the job would be done Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week. It was done on Tuesday. Since they did not call Tuesday morning I did not expect the job to be done then. However, when I got home early Tuesday morning they were already there ready to start work. If I had not arrived when I did my daughter's car would have been in the garage when they were working and she would not have been able to get her car out before they put the asphalt down. This is the reason I gave them a "B" in "Punctuality". They should have called either Monday night or Tuesday morning before coming over. The work itself was very professional. Breaking up asphalt and laying new asphalt can be very messy and leave a good amount of debris, but the crew made sure to control the mess. I was most concerned about their being able to blend the new asphalt into the surface I had done several years earlier. In the end they did a very good job blending the two surfaces. When I have the drive sealed next year it won't even be noticeable. They put a very strong edge on the drive that should last a long time. They were done with the job when they said they would be. Overall it was a very professional job. Mike came over several hours after the crew was gone to check on the results, remind me not to drive on it for several days, and to have it sealed next June after it had time to cure and set. On a side note, I found out from my neighbor that Class 1 was the company that installed a new concrete front walk for them about two weeks earlier. Since the trucks are not marked I did not realize that. However, that job also looks good and they seem pleased with the results.

After my husband and I decided to have Class 1 do the countertop job, I called to set up a time. They had other jobs and I had commitments, so we made an appointment for May 20. Then they called me on the evening of April 28 and left a message. I wasn't home and my husband was out of town. I forgot to look at the answering machine until Friday morning. So I called back at 7:15 am. They said that they had a cancellation, and if I could take everything off the counters and out of the bottom cupboards by 9:00, they could install the new countertops that day. So I scrambled around moving everything, had a quick breakfast and was ready for them by 9:00. Steve did a nice job. In addition to the new countertops, he replaced the old porcelain sink with a stainless steel one. He was very pleasant and professional. There was one misunderstanding. When we talked to Class 1 about doing the job, a man named Mike came to our house. He mentioned that they could also put the countertop Formica on 3 little shelves (12" x 7") that protruded from the side of one of the counters. When Steve was here, I had forgotten about those small shelves. But when my husband came home, he remembered. So I talked to a man named Joe from Class 1 about it. He said he didn't know they were supposed to do that. But he said they want to make us happy, so they will cut the Formica and cover those little shelves the next time they are in the area. I appreciate Class 1 for doing this extra work for us. It was a misunderstanding, but they are going out of their way to please us.

I had only one issue with them. They did a really good job repairing some chimney and roof work in the attic. The quality of work was very good.

Mike from Class 1 came here to give us an estimate on replacing kitchen counters. Currently the counters in the kitchen of our 60-year-old home are ceramic tile and are probably the original counter tops. Mike recommended replacing the tile with a modern looking counter and extending the counter to include the backsplash (which is also ceramic tile). The job would include replacing the kitchen sink, plumbing and faucet. He gave us an estimate of $3285. Mike came on time and was very pleasant and forthright about his thoughts for improving the kitchen. He recommended some formica patterns that would blend in with the color of the floor. We also asked Mike about some renovations to our small powder room. He said he would think about it and get back to us. In the meantime, we would like to get another estimate.

Mike was a good guy and straightforward with what would be required. The start of the job got pushed back a bit because of rain and Mike didn't let me know that they would be delayed, but once they started the job, they did very good work, handled the job quickly, and left absolutely no mess at all. Very professional from start to finish.

The results were more mixed. When they were done with the first job the molding on the inside was just un-shaped and un-painted plywood nailed in. When the owner of the company learned that we were unhappy, he sent the guy back to add some shape to the wood. There was a groove that was left where the old door had been, and that was filled in. One side is still empty. It was just a quick paint job, so the work doesn't look as good as the previous thing. The owner stated that for the amount we paid, we got a really good job done. I didn't realize that the quality was based on the price that we paid. I checked other rates, and theirs was pretty standard with the going rate for this kind of work. I might use them again in the future for outdoor work, but not indoor work.

They were going around the neighborhood promoting their business. They came right out to look at the work and he gave me a proposal for the work. I was impressed that he stuck with the proposal throughout the project. They tore off the shingles around the chimney, they laid down safeguard, laid down flashing, and replaced the shingles. They also too the time to replace the chimney flu, clean the top of the chimney, and tuck point the very top of the chimney. I can hardly tell where they replaced the shingles. They did an excellent job with the work and they fixed the leak. I have not had any problems since. The price of their work seemed fair to me.
